Spend sometime with Ollie at a historic meeting at Silverstone in May and watch a bit of the Monaco GP with him. Super nice guy and very down to earth.
How epic was that, just brilliant to see Ollie "pedalling" his craft instantly getting to grips with the car. Also Mike, absolute hero for allowing such an experience to be shared in his unbelievable car.
Yes I have had 2 or 3 "moments" at Quarry. OK 1 was car destroying and the other 2 race ending. I like to think older me would have negated 2 of them the dead car one I doubt it!
Great video. The guy I showed you a picture of last week at 78MM Ray Grimes , apart for working for Ferrari as an instructor was part of the Jaguar Project 8 developer team that instructed some of the drivers that bought the car
Wow wow wow! If I had to pick a jaguar dream car a project 8 is it! Such a fantastic day you had Sir Pete! I love the way this jag sounds! What a teacher to have for the day!
Thanks for the mention Pete👍. We have found a lot of refinement, connection and immersion can be taken to a track with left foot braking and heel and toe through many hours practise on the sim. 👏
Awesome video. In road cars (as Ollie described with servos) I would place me heel as far forward as possible and only pivot the braking force through the ankle. A lot easier to avoid that massive push.
Well you look like you've had a lot of fun and what amazing weather. Would be great to get a go pro to film what Oli was doing with his feet. I'm sure you are a very competent and capable driver but having re-watched the video the difference between you and Oli are amazing. the speed was noticeable and the way he hit those corners, WOW! You are definitely living the dream Pedro..., brilliant fella.
Hi Ped Thanks to Mike for his very generous move in allowing us to see this exercise in his Project 8. Would love to try left foot braking under the master’s instruction on track, the technique and explanation makes such good sense.👍👍👍Great circuit Castle Combe, only driven it once in my Morgan Plus 8 in Morgan Speed Championship Sprint. If I could have had instruction from Oli reckon I could have greatly improved my times.😉
Brilliant video Pete. My Mother-in-Law is a left foot braker ... so scary to drive behind her the brake lights come on at all the wrong times, like accelerating up a hil OMG.
Cool vid to compare the driving ! Not just the visual speed but the in car vid really shows the g force etc on your bodies, especially when Ollie wicks it up !! 🍻🇨🇦👍🏻
Fantastic video Pete and it's great that your learning left foot breaking as it must be difficult. The project 8 is quick/sounds great and was cool on the hot laps.
Great video. I'm looking forward to my track day training with a professional racing (and championship winning) racing driver soon! Nice to watch this insight.
Modern pdk or auto cars (well Porsche anyway) cut the power if you are on the gas a bit and on the brakes too. It takes 1/2 second to get the power back which is a massive pain and dangerous out of a junction. None of that in my old Ranger pickup, it was epic in snow. Been LF braking in tele-handlers for 30+ years so it comes naturally but salesmen on test drive tend to get very nervous. Nice drive Sir.
Well..words from Doddery Old Man….left foot braking was normal, everyday practice on the way to work in Minis in the 1960/70’s..it is wonderful in the snow with far better control. I still do it sometimes in my Land Rover but the finesse is not there with so much power assistance and electronics. I hope you liked Castle Combe where I have been many times and ŷes, that first corner has totalled many, many cars and frightened countless drivers! I’m glad you enjoyed it and maybe you will get to drive with Ollie again sometime!! Well done! Richard 😃😃😃😃
I have been left foot braking for years I find it is very beneficial when driving old bangers that keep cutting out !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!. I am left footed and still found it very strange .
Great Video -Nice a master class in track form ! Been driven on a few tracks over the years by professionals - it winds your neck back in , to the difference between pro vs amateaur - there is a difference and its vast !
Just amazing how the pro driver was driving so quickly from the get go and I bet he had some ideas already on how to tweak the suspension and alignment to go faster. That said, where were his official pro driving gloves?
I'm not sure which I would have enjoyed more if that had been me in that car the driving or being driven by someone that show's you exactly how it is done in the hands of an expert. Reminded me of my experience in an Escort Cosworth driving then been driven at speed. I think you have to experience both to have a true understanding of the car.
It might have been useful to show some pedal box footage relating to the cars progress. Bit like rally car footage? I got no context of using the controls as part of the cars speed and control.
Peter don’t put yourself down Ollie was good but so were you I didn’t see much to separate your performance and the car is wonderful and so cheap to buy get yourself one and one for Mrs Ped!!!😁😁😁👍👍👍🚘🚘🚘
Decent driving from the video, but disappointed as there was no video overlay to demonstrate the technique , could have been right foot braking for all I know .
Spend sometime with Ollie at a historic meeting at Silverstone in May and watch a bit of the Monaco GP with him. Super nice guy and very down to earth.
Hi Francois hope your doing well! I’d love to own a project 8 how about you?
@@coltoncleveringa8004 I’m doing well thanks. 👍🏻
Great film !!! and thanks for not breaking it
Mike I can’t thank you enough 🙏🏻

You can't beat a nice Jag...and this most certainly is a nice Jag...
I had an off at Quarry about 25 years ago and I still remember how scary it was!

Really interesting stuff that left foot breaking. Well done mate and well done Ollie for just picking that track and car up so quick!

Open exhaust valves/rev engine/heads turn (through rear window) - check.
As an owner of an F-Type R, I approve!
Enjoyed coming along for a great drive and discussion on braking dynamics.
Great video, Oli is always great whenever you see him on anyone's channel, not a fan of Jag's but you two made that look great fun!

Thank you so much both of you and of course Mike, great content.

Hello pal. Loved this. Did some laps yesterday up at Blyton, driving a Huracan, totally enjoyed giving that some beans on track. 👍👍👍👍
in the most crashed corner ,drive deep left into the corner before you turn in right then feed in the power
That video just flew past - excellent!
First!! Evening all! Happy Friday! Currently watching FP1 in the background. Hope everyone has a nice weekend.
Great technical knowledge and skill share Ped, great fun and always brilliant to see the pro's in action up close and personal.

Wow! That was fantastic!!
Great stuff and very nicely driven by both of you.

Great upload Pete!
Great driving
You are having some epic gigs at the moment Pete. Not jealous at all 🙈😂😂👍👍
Wonderful driving 🇦🇺🎖

Oh yes 🙌
Evening all ,that noise !!
He's very smooth isn't he.
Wow that car has got some power!
Good day from Oz 💚💛
Nice ...What a car you lucky chap ;-)
I've done hundreds of laps of combe, the most memorable being a passenger in a works replica mini, being piloted by paddy Hopkirk himself.......
great stuff.....
Just amazing how the pro driver was driving so quickly from the get go and I bet he had some ideas already on how to tweak the suspension and alignment to go faster. That said, where were his official pro driving gloves?
He’s too cool for that 😜

Evening all 👋
Great Video 👍
Thanks Bud 👍

Sadly I couldn’t mount the camera anywhere and we weren’t allowed hand held cameras 😢

Thanks 👍
Evening all
"I can drive better than that guy!1Q!1!" - thought process of the thumbs-down dude! 🤣
OLI Said he Hit over 250 mph down the main straight !!!!!!!! when he was driving
The fluidity of Ollie's driving, and the laps getting faster each time in comparison to your erratic laps is night and day.
Erratic ?!
Oh thanks 😜😂😂
Decent driving from the video, but disappointed as there was no video overlay to demonstrate the technique , could have been right foot braking for all I know .
I know but there was no way to mount a pedal box camera. I did try 👍
Pardon my French but wtf is olly
