Having a booth in an antique mall is not as romantic or glamorous as people might think. I've been in an antique mall for a decade and will probably be getting out of it after this month I have always been a furniture guy and the older I get the less I want to be lifting heavy furniture, so I am trying to transition into focusing more on smalls and upping my game on Etsy, even though furniture has made me really good money over the years. Not to be cheesy, but All Put Together and Laura Caldwell have really inspired me to make the move after watching their videos for a couple of years. I used to do Etsy years ago and should have never stopped.
This is such a simple comment, but so profoundly true. Your videos bring joy to my life......isn't that everything! So grateful!
Thanks for sharing your stories . Looks like we have a lot in common: I am French married to a Canadian and leaving in the US! We met when I was having an internship in the US and my husband was studying there too… we had a long distance relationship for a while , leaves in Canada, Germany and finally her in the US… had 2 weddings one year

I’m only six minutes in but had to pause and say that explaining that you need to add up the dollar amount of inventory is a game changer! Duh, why did I not think of that…so basic but I think most of us are too busy counting the number of items. As a side note, I’m picking up something this morning from FBMP and thought of you immediately when I saw it. A needlepoint of Portrait of a Young Girl Reading. Going to list it on eBay, haven’t tried Etsy yet because I’m scared of Canva, lol.

It's so nice you have shared the in and out of your business. I would love to have a booth. However I'm 63 taking care if my mother who is 86. My primary responsibility is my mother for now. You information is helpful for many others. Happy thrifting 😊

I did have one other questions…may sound stupid…but here it goes. When you source internationally, how do you get everything back home? Just extra suitcase? Special shipping service?
Awesome! I have wanted to source in France but how do you get your items back to the US??? Shipping is so expensive!

This was really fun! I’ve been following you for a little while now but never comment because I watch you on my tv. I have to say, you’re the only RUclipsr who I’ve stuck with for any length of time. For one thing, I love how freely you share. I’ve checked out a couple of the other pdx girls and you are hands down the best and for me that’s because you’re so authentic.
And btw, you mentioned previously that Laura had advised you that we like Goodwill videos. Not true for me. I enjoy the antique and estate sales much more and honestly pretty much hate Goodwill. 🤣
I’m in the San Francisco Bay Area and sourcing here is just plain awful. You guys have it so good in Portland!
Anyway! Thank you for all your videos. Been on eBay a bit over a year and thanks to you, hope to start Etsy soon. Btw, there is absolutely NO brass here.

Great video! You’re so personable and you’re very fun to watch . I would also recommend Etsy as a first time selling online platform. I’m in my seventies and definitely not tech savvy but I thought the process was pretty straightforward and easy. Their fees are not cheap but it’s worth it to me.
Thank you for sharing your reselling knowledge in this and past videos. I’ve said this before but it’s very much worth repeating…your down to earth and generous approach is wonderful. My significant other spent his junior year abroad in Kent (so did my ex-husband which is a totally weird coincidence) and has been an Anglophile ever since. We try to go often - north, south, Wales, train, car. Would totally go for a UK meetup/shopping trip. Please do let us know if you decide to do it this summer.

Thanks for answering my question Andi. I think I’ve been on the same page as you as far as inventory goes. You’ve got to refresh the booth regularly so I’d definitely want one nearby. 4:06 our thrift stores are charging as much & more than our antique malls for vintage right now. It’s insane! 7:56 brass is being overpriced in our thrift stores
I'm finding that online auction sites are selling inferior midcentury modern furniture to what I sell, (my furniture) in restored condition, for almost what I can sell them. I just went to an estate sale this weekend and picked up some really cool brass for $2 a piece, stuff I would never be able to find at a thrift store, and if I did, it would be 3 or 4 times as expensive.
@@agomodernyep! I bought 11 pieces of vintage glassware for $10 at an estate store. The lady blessed me with more than a 50% discount. I’m NOT a reseller so I think that might be the reason she gave me a little extra off. 😊

I have a painting listed for sale that I am in love with. People have made me reasonable offers but I can never get myself to accept. 😂😭 And, I am also a marketing consultant slowly transitioning into reselling full time. Ha!
I love and have used Madison Reed myself as well to the dismay of my hair stylist 😂 I’m curious as to what color you use. I’ve always used Balzano Brown but now it’s too dark for me.

Andi ❤ Even though I tease you about you always buying brass + needlepoint. I always watch you when I need a smile or a pick me up. It's because you're so darn cute,honest+ real! Thank you for sharing your personal life with us. I don't think it's because we're nosy I think it's because we want to see where it all started for you. Your wedding was beautiful picking the Amalfi coast in Italy is like picking heaven. I honestly didn't even recognize you! That was some High hair sister. Your wedding looked like a dream. Your son must be so cute with such lovely parents. Which brings me to my question ❓ that you didn't cover. Are you planning on having more children? As a great grandmother I would advise you to have one more. As only children have different problems then sibling rivalry. I'm sure both sets of your parents probably already bug you about that. Just wondering. Great episode but then everything you do is great❤😘🫶
