Taking a break from terrain building and focusing on my warhammer 40k/aos/fantasy nurgle daemons army where every model is a conversion or custom sculpt. This is an on-going series about making a carnival of chaos themed army, enjoy the first part. Хобби
This is the first thing ever to make me truly think “man, this warhammer thing looks fun”.
You would enjoy mordheim. Mostly conversions with a medeival fantasy setting.
Lol, what's warhammer. It's it sigmar something or rather?
Mordheim was amazing the vidio game is good also i hope it gets more appreciation and recognition
Black Magic Craft will you be making warhammer style stuff?
Warhammer is a blast, also I'm a big fan of your content.
Converting is my favorite part of the hobby so this is all fascinating.
Awesome. For me converting makes painting more fun!
@@Miscast it adds character to everything in my opinion, it also makes me feel more pround after i finish the model.
@@bestestmichael Yes!
That literal horse-fly plague bearer things is brilliant
That's literally how I started my Ork army. No two models were the same.
That's great. Certainly would do that if I was collecting orks, might make painting so much green more enjoyable
And now I'm subscribed to your channel, too. You have a good imagination!
Same I started with Kill Team so every model had to be unique so I could identify them at a glance, and I never stopped doing that for any of my 40k armies and it brings so much interest to the army because there is always something new and interesting about each part of it
THE THING! YES! Perhaps equalled only by “Big trouble in little China” for pure John Carpenter magic 😁
Funny how he says "Not the remake." While the John Carpenter film is indeed a remake of The Thing from Another World (1951)!
Anyways, Yes, John Carpenter's The Thing is hands down one of the best horror films of all time, and my own personal favorite!
@@smiledogjgp Not to mention that the "remake" he referenced is in fact a prequel! Interestingly, John Carpenter recently mentioned that there's a reboot of The Thing in the works, albeit directed by David Gorden Green (director of the 2018 Halloween and also Pineapple Express). I'm cautiously optimistic, since Carpenter implied he will be involved with the project in some capacity.
@@GALL0WSHUM0R and not even mentioning that it's actually a pretty good prequel, but it's hard to even stand next to Carpenter's.
I've watched this video aproxamatley 328,193 times and it has inspired me to make most of my miniatures and I just wanna say thanks for that😀
Miscaaaaassssttttt
:D!! Congrats again on the KS launch mate! Proud of you
Yeh well done
In my mind, every model I build out of the box by the rules, is GW's army.
Every model I don't follow the rules on is my model. Even staying in box, just chopping, posing, + some greenstuff here and there adds so much.
YESSSSS been waiting to see your carnival of Chaos ever since you told me about it! AND SO IT BEGINS!!
Weew! Enjoy!
Don't feel bad about the bootleg stuff man. We're here to chop scrape and mash.
Yeah. Don't use them to try to win money at tournies.
But so many cool kits are either discontinued or priced to the sky because of table top function.
Use you best judgement, the rule of conversion is effort.
But if he uses the bootleg stuff to make money, he could be in a better positiom to use that money and buy moar b0otLəG$! 🤪
Why can't he use them to win money at tournies? I feel like models shouldn't be locked behind a paywall. It seems kinda messed up that people with more money have an advantage over others. I've never played Warhammer though so forgive me if Im being ignorant.
@@jakeeck you are looking through fresh eyes and you are correct.
Cant speak for others with certainty, but ive always assumed that its simply the babies that complain because they may feel "cheated" if they spent the money on "legitimate models" versus someone else.
I never buy bootleg, but on occaision i'll make conversions which means "creating a unique look/pose/weapon or model and use it in place of the official issue."
Im more intersted in the hobby than the game and most people are cool and dig the conversions.
However, there are blatant scumbags that do dirty tricks like change the base sizes (which matters in a game of inches) for an advantage.
Hope this helps.
PS. For you babies that might be butthurt, not all, not all, not all.
I only ever do it for the love of hobbying as i never
@@jakeeck In magic the gathering there's a similar thing. It's called Proxying, where you get a print out of a card you don't own. In some formats that could save you thousands, but there are 3 reasons one might be against it
1) You're using a proxy because it's powerful. In a game designed to end with a win, a more powerful card is always better, and people can feel cheated if you have a really powerful card, especially if you have a bunch of them. (I believe this is not a justified complaint)
2) They might be pissed that you got what they have way cheaper. I play with people who have more money than sense. Some of thier decks are tuned to an absurd powetlevel, and that level of power comes at a cost. All 10 original dual lands cost between 5000$-6000$, so he might feel cheated if you had them printed out for 60 cent. (I believe this is not a justified complaint.
3) You aren't supporting the original creators, or the local game store that you would have otherwise bought from.
I personally don't care about Wizards, or GamesWorkshop getting my money, but if I want to continue to have somewhere to play these games I love, patronage is required. It's expensive for stores to lease thier space, and they have to play employees to host events. (I believe this can justify wanting to avoid proxying.)
Warhammer is a very expensive hobby though, so I personally think if you want to play it, nobody should stop you from doing what it takes to field an army

"I always think I must be running out of good bits by now, but I never am. I think it just might be a case of sometimes a cool bit only speaks to you after it's been sitting in the box for a long enough time." The most Nurgle thing ever said by a hobbiest.
I can't believe I NEVER thought of using the broken bits to make Nurglings (or even D&D abominations). Genius!
Haha I hope you give a go!
And I thought part swapping 60 Poxwalkers (technically 50, as I assembled 10 regular way) was crazy!
It is crazy. Love the dedication!
2:21 When I start collecting Nurgle daemons I am gonna have to steal this idea
Lovely conversions. Also, wearing a mask! Nice! Especially important when dealing with Nurgly bits, don't want to catch what they've got dontchaknow.
Don't breath nurgle dust
@@Miscast I wish you didn't wear a mask
When you're working with/pouring larger scale amounts of resin the fumes can actually build up on your skin leaving a weird tacky residue. And when your standing above your work looking down, those fumes find your face.
My mum has experienced this with her resin craft.
With your bases, you arent even close to using that much resin, so its not a big deal. Just something to keep in mind.
@@HojuMedia Great info
I love your box of bits and parts. Great video
this is amazing dude, super creative and and really well done!!!!! the video editing was solid too, all around awesome :D
You reminded me why I loved this in the first place! Thank you and they look awesome!
Your level of creativity is phenomenal. I love the idea of this custom army, will definitely be looking forward to more projects and updates like this from you in the future. Keep up the awesome work.
hey man, wanted to say that iv watched these Nurgle diaries over and over cus honestly can't get enough of them. also, you totally inspired me to do my own conversion Skaven army and so far its been a blast.
Absolutely love this idea, I'm so inspired by the old Chaos models. Fantastic conversion work, especially the fact that it's all cohesive. I also love the old plog/wip idea from the old forum days, I'll definitely be linking my builds once I get them up and running. Great video sir!
This video is so well constructed. Keep it up man you’re a boss
This is such a creative and fun video that for me shows the fun of kitbashing and why I love the hobby, keep up the great work
Man, that is soo much work! Really well done, especially on pushing through everything. 😀 Well done dude.
Fantastic first vid man! I am looking to get into Nurgle myself this year and already started buying the kits. Can't wait to get into the rest of your videos! .
Looks lovely. Great work!
love these conversion and molding series. Your video always inspire me
This is one of the Coolest Armies I have ever seen. Excellent conversion work 👍. You made some creatures I wouldn’t even have thought to create.
Dude this was awsome will be watching along
great content! I love how wild chaos conversions can be, the woodland upside down head guy is my favorite!
Great to hear your favorite. I wasn't sure on him...it? at first but I really like it now.
I love this channel and all of your conversion work. One of my inspirations for getting off my ass and starting my own crafting channel. I did a few scratch builds and I'm just starting on a build diary for the 40k Indomitus box set. Keep it up, man. You make great videos
Love it dude cant wait to see the next video
Amaaaaaazing vid. Love converting, wish there were vlogs like this
Absolutely outstanding work, loving every aspect of these and what you said in the video, lovely early GW feel captured for sure, please keep up the great work and vids 👍
Thankyou, that's great to hear
I miss forums too, that's partly why I started RUclips, I don't really do diary vids. I never feel like people would find them interesting but I pretty much have documented every step of my new Oathmark army.
I can't wait to see how this finishes up.., some amazing conversions already. Great work
I really enjoy your videos Scruffy Crow! I loved those classic maneaters you fixed up too!
Dude this video is amazing! You have a new sub boyo! Keep it up
Some very fascinating creations right there. Good idea. I try to use my bit boxes when I can for sure.
Wonderful video and great idea!
this whole series has been a blast to watch. i look forward to every episode i am so goddamn excited to see the finished army when youre done with it
i know battle reports arent your thing, but man id love to see you do one with this army
Great video! Can't wait to see some painted up. Subscribed😁👍
so much epic stuff in one video! this one is really something that tells you how cool is this hobby end the power of conversion (and nurgle)
Very kind. Thank you
Love it!!! I really want to see where you go with this :)
I love the circus idea. Nurgle is a god of abundance and his gifts are many. Unlike Khorn and to a lesser extent Tzeench, Nurgle is focused on the spread of his rot, not just combat. I love all of the different interpretations of decay. How are you going to unify all of these different ideas so that they seem like one army? Maybe they could all have the symbol of their one United circus
The styles are going to mixed together in units and painted in a way that unifies them, so not to worried them not looking uniform, they'll come together. I have lots of plans for narrative stuff like stitched together unit banners made from a variety of circus banners, that sort of thing. A united circus symbol is a great idea!
wow this looks great love all the conversion
Brilliant work and imagination,congratulations !
0:12 digging out the high precission tools...I love it ;D
With Nurgle there is never a failed print, damaged model or missing bits, only Granpa's creativity unleashed into an unending riot of kitbashing.
*Smiles at his Nurgle themed Greater Possessed ones, Venomcrawlers, Havocs and that Daemon Prince who suspiciously looks like a failed attempt to sculpt Cthulhu*
Awesome conversion work here :D When all of these are painted up they are going to look like a impressive Army.
Love it! You really do it the whole way as Papa love ❤️
Incredible videos as usual. Learning so much
Glad to hear it! Thank you!
Love you stuff, so good!
This has been the single biggest hobby inspiration for me in a long time. Very cool stuff!
Thank you!!
Insane conversions are the true heart and soul of chaos armies. Top work mate.
So many great conversions, and completely "untraditional". Love it.
Freaking Incredible!
Ur work is amazing my favorite is nurgle and the carnival theme is genius i cant wait to see them painted
Love it, awesome creativity!
Your conversions are amazing!
Glad i found your channel, so many Tips and inspiration
Great video and I totally agree about throwing everything together. I'm envious of your bits box though, I have more of a bits tray!
Awesome video mate, subbed.
Great Conversions. It is gonna look amazing. You are correct on the bitz can stare at them for years till the lightbulb goes ding!
Best part about chaos is that you can just go ham with conversions. Also wonderful video, really enjoyed some of the conversions and can’t wait to see more.
You're 100% right, nurgle especially.
fantastic conversions, very cool!
Cheers
Blacksmith here. Don’t paint, don’t sculpt, don’t even play the tabletop but I still watch all your videos. Truly riveting (forgive the pun) stuff. The way you talk about it is really fun to listen to.
Wonderful imagination with the skills to back it up. Toolbox for sharing.Liked and subscribed for the next episode.
Fantastic as usual man, can't wait to see the painting steps!
Very excited to start painting! I'll likely paint them in 1 or 2 big batches. Stay tuned
@@Miscast sweet! Looking forward to it!
I love them! Conversions have always been my favorite. This is really reminding me of some of the wicked and humorus nurgle armies you used to see in WD's grand tournement coverage back in the day, and the old Slaves of Darkness illistrations.
Thanks mate awesome to hear! That early chaos art is CRAZY, I really love it, I was trying to get physical copies for this video, maybe in a future one.
@@Miscast I look around for them, but even the reprints are pretty expensive.
I love your conversions
I hadn't thought about WIP logs on forums in so long. They were always my favourite thing! I hope you keep making videos on this force because those conversions are super interesting!
You can count on it!
Neat army, i really like the center pieces.
Very fun, looking forward to this series
awesome as always. cant wait to see you have that painted one day. at least you can use them for all types of games.
This is top quality work sir
Your bits tub reminds me of digging through Lego bins as a kid, seeing ancient pieces from kits long past and being inspired by them.
wow this is incredibly cool
Its great to see a fellow enthusiast when it comes to kitbashing, and then ontop of that a fellow disciple of the Grandfather! praise be! you've got a sub, bud!
these are amazing! top notch!
found your channel from the MWM/squidmar video and I love it already, I'll be going through the video backlog :) keep it up
Nice army you got there man, I also have the same problem atm with my vamp coast army in the keep making new minis also not alone in the whole putting all your bits in one box think its part of the fun going through everything.
@Miscast
I think this really embodies what a horde of daemons should look like. Not uniform, but truly chaotic and twisted. It reminds me a lot of Berserk and the monsters you'd see from the eclipse. What you have here is truly impressive and I love seeing what you've done and am excited about what you'll do next.
Cannot wait to see this army develop!
Amazing work, sir
Superb! The continuation, the continuation, the continuation!
The construction adhesive glob made me smile.
Awesome conversions, really dig that old school look.
Cheers!
Wow this is amazing!
Thankyou :)
Gifting the bits with a new life. Papa Nurgle would be proud.
Amazing stuff, reminds me of how the chaos armies were described in Michael Moorcock's books (which were a huge influence for early GW).
1:07 these long necky boys on the left remind me of the long snake and salamander conversions in the 3rd Edition Chaos Space Marine Codex on page 46 :D Love your modeling! Can't wait for the next one!
I’m getting Frankenstein vibes haha!
Amazing video!
Awesome work. That GUO looks ace, don't feel bad at all.
Ok, this is right up my street! I'll be following this series with great interest.
Love the square bases!
I loved the video, made me want to sculpt a bit myself ! keep doing the serie :))
Awesome, I hope you do. Thank you I will!
Kitbashing is such a brilliant addition to the hobby. Using dollar-store cheap plastic toys, or recycling bottlecaps and old packaging, as well even just the sprues from models can be really useful. It's a great way to use leftover bits, and some hobby stores often sell 'leftover sprues' which have just a few pieces on and aren't useful other than for a few random bits and a super cheap price.
Yeah! That sounds like a cool hobby shop
this is crazy awesome
This is awesome!! Not okay for super competitive tournament players but great for newbies(such as me) and people who as you said don’t want to break the bank. I’ve only ever made two miniatures but get ready for my first army(made sorta like this also ever)!
This video is amazing 😍
this has inspired me to do a similar thing with my legion of nurgle but for 40k , turning all of my old/ new csm and a bunch of other random models all kitbashed and converted
