Fallout 4 - Rebuild: Murkwater Construction Site - Ep.1

- So this will be a new version of the Let's Build series - the title of which I'm scrapping completely and not continuing as one giant playlist (so no 'let's build 100' etc).
Basically from here on I'll be doing a couple of episodes rebuilding the current settlement I'm working on - that way you all get to see how I solved a particular issue.
The bigger settlement 'let's builds' will be still be the same as always - but these ones will be more shortened, so you don't see four hours of footage sped up.

I love seeing the "mistakes" bc when you fix them, it teaches me how to fix them. I like to watch you build in speed so we can see "how" you fix stuff.
Wow you built a nice settlement considering you were under such... Murky conditions.
I hate myself
it's alright
Should I show you the door or do you know were it is?
Murkwater is the one I am working on right now. Perfect time for this to pop into my feed.
I just want to say thank you because your videos is the only thing that gets me through the week and if we ever meet, we need to build a house together out of pallets and concrete.
Looks great Davey! Love the split building and the underwater pathways!lol Keep up the glorious work!
I'm really looking forward to more of these videos! Murkwater can be difficult to work, but soooo satisfying. Just a tip: an easy way to raise the floor boards out of the water is to take a set of the longer stairs and, essentially, do what you did with the concrete foundation. Get close, hold X, and raise upwards. You can also use this to clip floor pieces into the buildable shack-y bridges, and lower stuff into the ground.
Liking this new format a lot ! Good job David
grear job @norespawns great build and creativity! i havent played fo4 in a while and am still waiting for Automatron, but i still enjoy your vids. keep up the good work!
I liked the format, and really admire and appreciate your creativity with "repairing" the existing structure. I have struggled with those in a number of settlements, and this should really help me get better results. Thanks!
I dig it. I especially like seeing how you make relatively useless spaces like this one into something unique and really cool. Now, I'm inspired to try something like this with this site. Thanks!
The Mirelurk queen respawns to the east of the ratty building with the workbench for me, just where the water gets deep enough to sink a purifier and def within settlement boundaries.... actually right where you built that walkway. :D I have a big, turret lined pit for her now but gawd my build is ugly. Love how you fixed the house. Looks like I'll be gutting Murkwater now.
Love any build videos in any format, keep it up davey!
Really liked this format, looking forward to more like it!
OMG I have been wanting you to do this for so long. Thank you Fallout God's I will be glued to your chanel even more.
I'm going to use that to try and rebuild houses and stuff in other areas when the house is mostly destroyed. Thanks for all the great building ideas and techniques!
There is a balcony style wall piece that is wooden, and is slightly differently shaped, the roof piece is flat so if you are building a balcony on top of it the little space below your upper floor is not there. I hope that was understandable. Love the channel, cant wait to watch more.
I'm liking the new idea Davey keep up the great work
Love the new format. When you edit please leave in some of your goofs. I learn a lot by watching the process you go through to reach the final product. Cheers!
Absolutely brilliant, really helpful, looking forward to more. Patched up the workshop building in Jamaica plain thank to you.
Thanks*
I like this format and on my NEXT playthrough I will be concentrating on making my settlements as good looking as yours :)
Feedback: I like this style very, very much. Do as many of these as you like, because these are fantastic and the opposite of boring.
clipping in the two halves of the house just blew my mind. I don't know why I never thought of that.
Hey Davey, I too love the rainy weather in Fallout so you're not the only one! :D But instead of being from London, here in Australia it's pretty much always dry and humid so rain is nice when we get it. Plus it also has a romantic quality to it.
Man your vids are great bro, always look forward to them. Keep up the good work.
I HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS ALL DAY
As always fantastic work. I Look forward to your uploads.
I know I'm super late to the party here but *THANKS* for making these rebuild videos, they're really helping me! :)
I like the idea of not using the glitch to get more things into the world because for some reason I do experience the frame drops of setlements that probably have too much things in them, like for example in sanctuary I probably have all my items... that was because I'm lazy and when I go to look for them the amount of time to retrieve all the items is considerably high and I can't imagine having all the those structures and having all the items at the same time.
The idea is great, it's simple and it can be decorated fully wich is something some of us really enjoy, the new ideas not only in structures but the thought that was put into them
The new format seems great!
Thanks again, norespawns. Without your tips on building flush rooofing over houses in sanctuary, I never would have made my settlement what it is today.
Yeah I like this format a lot. I like to see the little nuances in your building. It's easier to steal your ideas when I can see you build them from the ground up, hahaha, I jest. INCORPORATE your ideas. Like the hospital. It's gonna be the best fucking hospital in the Commonwealth. NO Supermutants.
Also, I was thinking, you should give your doctors in your creep factory hospital various sack hoods. Silent Hill kind of vibe.
+Potema Dunne That's an awesome idea - mix raider and lab coats together. Genius and creepy AF.
i like the idea of making playlists of videos for each settlement that you build and making a miscellaneous one on the side
The building is fabulous. Thanks for this rebuild. I like the way you put the flooring in the water too. :)
@ non Fallout content. Have you ever played Dragons Dogma Dark Arisen? It is great fun with fabulous monsters.
I never would've thought about using the country Concrete platforms like that
Looking forward to the new series. You are a legend
Great video! Can't wait for the next one.
Basically think of the 'Rebuild' videos as a type, not their own series. Makes it tidier - the format will be mostly the same. Also you're getting prettier thumbnails and hopefully improved editing.
can you please just say "I can't believe you've done this". I just wanna hear the similarity. also, good job, I was gonna recommend this next. one step ahead of me Davey....
I personally love seeing these "Let's Build" videos because it gives me so many ideas for my own settlements.
here to support
+norespawns sounds awesome im excited :)
No offense but shut up about the thing not being a let's build we get it
Can you make a video on how you rebuild sanctuary hills all in one??? You're the best builder i've ever seen!!!
+Lance Gabriel Yeah he's really good! you should check out EvilViking13 and Jug too
I like the placing of floor pieces outside to merge them in the ground. I wonder if you could use the wooden fence post in the water alongside of your small floor pieces where they cross the water.
As always thank you Davey, great ideas, funny, and easy to listen to.
Be well Sir
definitely one of the best settlement builders on you tube tight video bro👌
Really like this style of video. Definitely do more!
Great videos. Best FO4 build videos on YT. Please keep them coming.
This vid was perfect, speed, tour, commentary. Thanks!
I look forward to the new format!
This style of video is great. keep up the good work.
Tinker, tinker, tinker. Strong Bored!
Nice vid. Like the new style.
The Mirelurk Queen was here when I first arrived, but it has never respawned for me.
I like this place, apart from the bloody weather. It is so miserable, all the time.
THANK YOU! I tried to fix this house lots of times but I never convinced with the final result. I will try something inspired in your build.
This would make a good border settlement with predominately-Ghoul Minutemen troops (plus Strong) occupying the settlement to keep either people from going into the Glowing Sea, or to keep the threats from the Sea at bay (medics, and maybe the bartender would be human though, but the former would be wearing a radsuit).
Looking forward to the series Davey 😉
+Sean S me too.
Type*
another great video, Davey.
The style is great, good idea videos for others and different possibilities to accomplish. Length is fine, for me I watch while I am at work so time is a nil issue for myself.
Your buildings are freaking awesome.... need to check this out when I start to expand my settlements. Only downside on this: I think the first attempts won't be that easy like it looks like in the video^^
Thank you for the discovery you can adjust height using concrete floors ... nice ! Fascinated that you are still using shack stairwells .. have stopped using them - hate the fact you cant easily use railing to stop falling down the hole. I now use shack floors and the full size stairs to one side, filling in the side space with small floors. Perfect for snap-in railing.
.. and I've never seen you use the corner pieces on the shack wall + roof pieces. Must say I agree, I definitely prefer the look of the gap being filled with the wall ends. I do occasionally use the corner pieces for "randomness" but mostly have the chunkiness of your style.
Seeing as this video series is going to be experimenting and we all know you love to say "grand" (you mentioned its already a drinking game for some) perhaps the series could be called "wouldn't it be grand." as its usually a lead in to a suggestion or idea.
I built a floating 5 level concrete pyramid in the Murkwater construction site. The base of the pyramid has 5 concrete legs each with 2 level deep above the swamp land. This is to avoid raiders spawn inside my pyramid. The the middle of the pyramid has a 2 ladders connecting the bottom of the pyramid to the top. I model it after the Mayan Chichen Itza. I placed rocket turrets and a lot of spot lights along side 2nd level of the pyramid pointing out. Finally I placed an Artillery with a guard on the top of the pyramid. I look so awesome in the night from distance whenever passing through swamp area.
"I love this post"

I like these a lot. Keep it up.
Enjoy your builds and techniques.
The channels looking all professional now. You deserve all that ultra jet my son.
You have always great Ideas for nice builds :o)
great video!!! love your ideas!! Fab!
Strong actually likes it when you build stuff. If you tell him to wait outside you'll have him to max affinity in no-time :p.
I think she does spawn in the settlement, everytime I'm told it's under attack, she is always in the water area and by the time i get there the turrets have pretty much torn her to shreds as I have a pontoon into the water stacked with turrets... just because, handy way to keep my steak supply up
ironically, if you want to raise Strong's affinity bring him to a settlement you're working on, for whatever reason he loves that shit
Ultrajet is awesome. Those Bloodleaf gathering forays really take me away from it all.
Hey Davey, loved the vid. One thing though, since I know you like the realism in your builds...the water purifiers shouldn't be covered, that blue cloth part of the purifier is supposed to catch rain. ;)
+CitizenErased181 I thought about that - artistic license ;)
Video looks great :)
Love the style
I literally click on your random videos just to hear that British: "Ello everyone."
I love your videos keep up the good work
Very nice. Your videos are great help
it looks good dude gives me plenty of things to try with out copying your ideas
Yo, Davey, you should try using the posts that come with the barn and warehouse pieces to create a raised walkway. I'll see if I can get a screen shot off of my XBONE of the one I made through the river in sanctuary, but it looks pretty cool and the posts make it look like it's really supported.
I'm not sure if this will work or not, but here is the screen shot, I made a little warehouse clinic sort of tucked underneath/beside the bridge down in the water. You should just be able to open the image using your browser. Also, I would love to know what you think about it, I realize this might not be for everyone, but I was trying to do something different than my other sanctuary build!

Cool job!
Why did you put tents on the purfiers? They've got rain catchers on too for extra water, and that being the rainiest settlement I feel like it would be a good idea to use them. (It obviously has no effect but still...)
Never seen that foundation trick before thanks
I can not in any way to connect two or more objects simultaneously in the workshop mode. But with the PC you can engage with the workshop to another object, you have to press a few buttons?
Hey, Dave, why no love for the corner caps? The edges for the balcony type walls? Do you just prefer the wall fillers creatively or just forget about the corners?
Also, what is the capital city of Eastern Cape, South Africa?
I think you should put an open bar area in one of the ponds
How do you grab multiple objects all at once to move it to another location?
Use the bridges for the water walkways and build houses in the water on the stilts that would look cool
+Jordan Spellar That is exactly how I did my Murkwater Tour video. The only place you HAD to touch the ground was the work bench and the front gate.
I like it, you could do more videos like these.
I cannot get anything to lock together like you did in the beginning, the "mat glitch" I believe it is. How do you do that?
Covering the purifiers breaks the immersion a bit IMO since they have a spot to collect rain water as well. I know this makes no difference to the amount of water you get, just looks a bit off is all. looks really good otherwise!
When you put in those protruding walls that extend half the length of a floor piece, why don't you ever use the corner connectors instead of the end caps?
Aesthetic choice for him.
Can someone let me know, does the unofficial patch update mod fix this bug bc it’s all red for me doing it, only a silver is green
Any way you could rearrange your Playlist to make them go from oldest to newest? makes it so it plays your videos in order instead of me having to select the next video starting from the bottom.
I don't know if you use PC or not, but if you do, I recommend using the Conquest mod to do a build series of various locations.
Thank you inspiring me to build daddy strongs
swamp
Sounds grand
Try using the spiked poles as supports
I know this settlement *looks* like it should be dangerous, but with me it's rarely been attacked, and I've never had the mirelurk queen respawn.
My issue has been in doing something with the workbench area. I really hate having exposed workbenches for some reason, but that frame... I came up with something eventually, but I'm not sure I like it. It involved way too many concrete blocks.
+Lytrigian seems like everyone gets different results with Murkwater. That queen respawns every 3-4 days for me, and the attacks are pretty nasty. I've turned the swamp between Wilson's Atomatoys and Murkwater into a Cambodian style minefield to try to stem the tide of mini gun and missile launcher toting mutants and I took an incendiary gauss rifle off a gunner in the last attack. :/
How did you get it to snap in like that
I made it into Strong's swamp on my game, wish you could get rad donkeys as well.
Question! Was this done with PS4 and with the Wasteland DLC
Honestly, I don't see why one would build large structures in dangerous areas like this. Spots like Murkwater likely aren't intended to be used as full-fledged settlements, but as supply depots and rest areas for the player. This will become apparent once the Survival update goes live.
That's just my opinion, though.
cos a mirelurk queen respawns there
Mitchell Gould
That has more to do with placing turrets and mines, not building large structures.
Did you even read my comment?
Scowler but you build smaller settlements cos it's dangerous and so far away
Mitchell Gould
And Murkwater is definitely dangerous. Just set up a bunch of purifiers, pumps, and footbridges, then dispatch a small cadre of robots.
Every time it's attacked, you come back, repair the bots, loot the dead, load the loot onto a robot or two and send the loot back home.
Simple.
"I've moved onto Ultra Jet by the way" LOOOL XD
Are you going to make these for every settlement?
I love these
