Just FYI for Pennsylvania, the exhaust has to discharge to the outside edge of the vehicle body or as originally designed to be technically legal. As stated in the Inspection Code, Title 67: 175.80 (e)(6)(vii). The closer you can get the less of a hassle it might be for inspection or law enforcement.
Same with where I live.
Its a good idea to get the exhaust away from the undercarriage and body anyway. Soot that leads to rust... and if your stuck in the snow and forced to idle your engine for warmth.... you won't die! Most mufflers sound better if you have some length of pipe after the muffler anyway. Just muffler and dump sounds raspy.
Sounds great bud! I have similar on my 89 fox. In the future though I would like to see a proper air pump delete video. Whatcha think?

it might sound nice with those dump mufflers.but frankly the best part of that fox body is the dual exhausts at the rear.its gone.woundered what it sounded like with the flowmasters.it had.we should of a heard a before and after.

bet it sounded better with that old mac lx cat back lol. wish they still sold it with that style tail pipe but in S.S there chrome never lasted in the NE. Used to love the macs when I was younger but too old for the drone these days on a driver.

Is it bad for a dump to be close to the axle or tank or etc cause of the heat ?
That is one of the reasons it is turned down.
What overall outer diameter was on those mufflers?
Do you have bad exhaust fume smells?

Nope not really. most exits out the back. Occasionally in traffic when the wind blows the wrong way you get a little.
