Man I would love to have one of those. I would paint it camouflage with black, grey and olive green, and use it for wildlife and landscape photography. And I would put a rack on the top of it with a platform, where I could put a hunter's blind, but not for hunting, but for my photograghy. And whether I get a campervan like this or not, I'm going to get a van, preferably a long wheel base, and do the same, with the same paint job, etc. and maybe even a 4 wheel drive van. And also with a high top on it, when my money allowed. And I will live and travel in my van, going around the US and Canada, getting some great photograghs and videos, with my DJI Phantom 3 Advanced quadcopter. That's the plan. :-) ✌
I love your stuff we have talked in the past when you first started. I did my conversion back in 2004 on my 7.3 Diesel 15 passenger. My only point is why the single wheel drive in the front??? That means if the guy is serious about back road camping he will need two spares!! The point of that unit (to me) is to keep it light and low, hence the 33"s and 6 " lift. If you start adding an extra spare now and this and that latter he is going to be driving a slug with two shells on it's back. The 5.4 is already pushing the towing out the window. I dunno it's a head scratcher to me???
nelson mol better handling and flotation when aired down. The DRW spare can be used up front in an emergency. And, on a lot of these DRW rigs we need a 17" wheel up front to clear the bigger brakes. 17" dually wheels for the back are difficult to source on the E series.
THIS IS AWESOME! I wish you would mention what the invoice amount was for this conversions. I know that theres variables but it would be a great marketing effort if you just threw out the invoice amount for your individual videos. I would love to do this to my 98 E350 rig but just looking at this makes me think that theres no way I can afford something like this.
What happens to the bodies of these rvs once they actually go offroad? Does the camper part hold up or does it get trashed from the bouncing and swaying?
That poor 5.4 will never be able to turn those tires in any kind of muck. My 7.3 works pretty hard pushing my shuttle bus through the sand. Sweet rig. Just needs a turbo.
Thanks Chris, I just switched to my Handyman Henry profile . But thanks for the 20k ballpark pricing. Im getting ready to convert my box truck to an RV and Im really considering in converting it to 4x4 with lift kit. Do you think its possible to convert a box truck to 4x4? Its a Ford E350 chassis with an extended chassis due to being a formal moving truck. - Henry
Jeeze! Take care crossing the country That thing looks too heavy. Winds on I40 or I10 can be a bitch. Nice job with the tires and wheels. I’m always suprised at how much money these small Class Bs go for.
I'd love to find one of these in a 7.3 diesel, hell, if i found the right gas one, I'd convert it, any ideas where I should look? Thanks RUclips people!
Hey Tim. I bought my 2001 E450 shuttle bus for 3k off Craigslist. Its got a 7.3 and hell yea its so great... Plenty of power. I LOVE the sound of that engine.
Thanks for putting out these videos!!! The work you guys do is awesome!!
Thanks!
Thanks for also showing the interior... Awesome work!!
Pretty nice Chris and the rest of the UJoint guys!

Sounds like a fine plan

ujointoffroad How is the freeway driving affected?
This FORD rocks!!!
your b190 has always been my favorite, but I think I might like this one more.
Nice enjoyable rig. Great build
FORD MOTOR VANS=LOVE!!!
Omg, Im drooling. Maybe when i hit lotto.
Great Rig and build, it’s a shame for the 5.4, a refresh on the interior and it’s a winner ✌🏽
that's perfect size for a solo traveler
Nice looking camper
This is badass
I’m looking at a 1997 model of one of these … will you do a full conversion on a 1997?
So dope!

Thanks. I don't include pricing our of respect for my customers but plan to be in the 20k area for a similar build.
Would love a short interior view in these cool RV jobs.
Wow! looking good👍

Great video love the work you done . But what was the cost on something like that ?
Would love a ball park number too please
If you have to ask... :)

How much does a conversion like that cost? Im very curious.
~25k for us to do it here, we also have DIY kit options.

It's possible to convert ANYTHING to a 4x4 with proper tools time and money
Never seen one but I do like it. Diesel would be great. Think I saw V8 on the side but either way nice rig.
That motor home is dope! I wonder if it's as good as the Born Free with roll bars in the body.
Jeeze! Take care crossing the country That thing looks too heavy. Winds on I40 or I10 can be a bitch.

You’d be quite surprised if you took a ride.
What does something like that run? Same vehicle, who does this work?
We do it, ~25k for a turn key swap here.
Very nice!
What did you do for the rear springs? Custom lift springs? Re-arched? Higher lb/inch rating? Taller/Higher block?
Thanks! We do custom spec springs, no block. Springs are made for the actual weight of the rig.
Nice!
What did this 4x4 conversion cost?
~25k plus goodies/extras
