I got my first CD player in 1983, too. It was the Marantz CD-73. My first CD purchase was The Police Synchronicity and Dire Straits Love Over Gold. I remember the Hi-Fi store sales guy demonstrating how “indestructible” CDs were by tossing one on the floor, stomping on it, then playing it. “Try that with an LP” he said.
Agree 100 percent that Guy Clark as your favorite cd in your collection! His “My Favorite Picture of You” is my favorite Guy Clark Composition done by Jerry Jeff Walker! Happy New Year!
Aloha Harry's Music Room Wow ! $800.00 Cd player back in 1983 ,always new technology cost a lot at the beginning. Cool Footloose, bet if Beatles were available on CD at that time you would have bought them all. Smashing Pumpkins what a score at goodwill, I have that one somewhere on CD too, &:I don't have the Vinyl either. Wow, 1206 Cd's, I think in my room I might have maybe 200 & dats pushing it...lot in boxes under da house but I don't count dat . Digipak cool, I like those mini looking record album ls too. The Blasters awesome I wasn't buying any new music this year was saving money. But I recently bought a CD from Derrick Higgins who's also on RUclips but dat it dis year as far as new. Dat is so cool recording concerts & making Cd's. I need to check out that Beatles Love cd thanks for the tip on the sound quality. Monkees great graphics on da cover, I like the band War - Colección Latina it has a Lenticular cover. Those Grateful Dead Box Set amazing love da foil inlay. Cool Beatles red & blue, I only have the thick Jewel case knew somewhere. Opening up a record shop using your record collection as stock, I comprehend that. A friend of mine had a Cassette Tape Store in dat he opened in 1983. Glass show cases screwed on the walls of the store except behind the counter there was a holy moly wall of collectors Records, Albums, EP's, lot's of Beatles & Elvis EP's. & a huge empty space in the middle of the store sobI ask him if I could put record albums in his store on consignment which we did SovI filled up the 6 long bins of Records, maybe around 6000+ I got to hang & help sell my records since I wasn't working at that time. Guy Clark Dublin blues, Thanks forcyhe tip I'll check it out. Thanks again Harry enjoy watching your videos, maybe you can start a Reel-To-Reel 3025 tag.... Mahalo ed
I got one around 2008. Always been behind the times, even before we got out of the 1960s. Even today I know more about the 1960s than about the new millennium - - but then the 1960s knew more about itself than new millennials know about the new millennium. 1st compact disc I ever got was the 1st compact disc I ever saw, before 'cd' was currency: given to me as diverted stock for a record shop that closed down. Never saw anything like it, couldn't make head nor tail of it, tried playing it on my turntable, both sides - - it sounded like this, I recall: *zZz-z-Z-ZZZ-zz-i-i-ip!* And the older I get, the more things sound like that, the new millennium passing me by: *zZz-z-Z-ZZZ-zz-i-i-ip!*
Footloose very interesting . 1200 cd's you certainly have more than me. I have I think about 250. I like the jewel box there easier to fit in the laser line spinner. you have Black Sabbath my live album is Judas Priest Live nice Monkees cover I like Judas Priest - Point of Entry we'll minus the Bootlegs and call it the Beatles Judas Priest for me I have both vinyl and cd spend way more time with cd's than the vinyl how many 5 star albums do you have on cd? example Ac/dc- Back in Black Kiss - Destroyer , Rock n roll all over Van Halen -1 Def Leppard Pyromania.
