    Thanks for sharing your thoughts on the Nova 16x24 lathe ! There is not a lot out there on this model! I have a friend that has one ! I just ordered a new one! I have been using a old craftsman 12” x36 “ and wanted to step up to something bigger! Thanks for going over the details of your lathe! The other lathes are very expensive! But this one looks like a good starting point! Thanks again for your time! Regards BobLee

    I have the same lathe Steve. I’ve been turning over two years on it with zero problems. Excellent lathe for the money. Just because I turn a lot I ordered the DVR motor for mine and love that too. No more switching belts which didnt bother me but saves time

    First of all, Steve, it's just nice to see someone that knows how to do something. Wiring, drywall, very cool!
    That is a lifetime lathe you've got for yourself! I know just how exciting it is to get something like that. You feel the whole turning world is at your fingertips! It is!
    Congrats, Steve, great video and a new subscriber!

      except he doesn't know what he's talking about AT ALL when he talked about "draining my new upgraded electrical system, and needing the BIG 220v wiring". He's the reason for the national electrical code and why homeowners doing their own electrical work tends to burn houses down

    SWEEEEEET TOY!! Loving the diamond plate device covers...#3 for the service feeder? A shame your like a 9 hour ride away... I just had some #2 copper which is good for 100 amp...if your area will allow, look into mobile home feeder cable. typically direct burial and would be rated for 100 amp as well... also should be maybe shelf item at lowes or HD.. GOOS LUCK and WEAR A SHIELD those chips will be a flying..LOL

    • @SteveandSusiesHomestead
      @SteveandSusiesHomestead  6 лет назад

      I do ware a shield...HD just had aluminum wire that big.. I will check lowes and minards...Thanks for the tips

    Hi Steve. I am about to buy this lathe. Can you share experience after using it? I need to turn bigger bowls, and this lathe can offer it. But my concern is next, when you changing head position, will not be the thing, that you will loose center in long term? Do you think, this lathe will not loose straight line in long term?

    • @SteveandSusiesHomestead
      @SteveandSusiesHomestead  5 лет назад

      It has a positive lock up at 90-45 and 0 , so it should not lose center... I recommend that you bolt it to the floor ..It is a little lighter then the old time lathes . I think you will be happy with it..Thank's

    Hi from across the pond
    One Big Q that's worrying me
    How Rigid and Accurate is the TAILSTOCK on these Lathes ???
    I need drill most Pen Blanks without comprising ACCURACY
    Do kindly let us know
    TIA

      I am very happy with the tailstock. The heaviness of it was one of the deciding factors for me. I have put a lot of pressure on it , turning very heavy pieces . No slipping , no wobble . the center points on this lathe lined right up. The quill is heavy and stiff , as far as drilling goes. Thanks for watching .
