if you have time, there's a lovely easy riding path from Air Hitam dam through the forest to Balik Pulau, some fantastic views to the west cost. You can stop in Balik Pulau for their famous Asam Laksa. There's another nice ride down to Pantai Pasir where you can stay off the road and get some nice paddy field views. I know not Penang food, but if you like Austrian food, try Christophs on Lorong Stewart, really nice place, he used to be the F&B manager for E&O hotel
@@choongching we did explore that part of the island too. That is where there is a great view with the Chinese writing in the video. We went to a couple of beaches there too.
@@JanineSmith-t7q you have the beaches pretty much to yourself if you don't go to the main ones, and it is quiet around the old town, with mainly just tourists wandering around!
Glad you had a great time
Yes, that is the ideal amount of tourists I want to see when I head for retirement there soon.
@@vwchan841 I hope you enjoy your retirement there (it would be hard not to!)

Hello Welcome to Malaysia. That abandoned hotel is finally under renovation ... Becoming an InterContinental.
You can also explore the other side of the island, Balik Pulau.

A secular beauty of a bygone colonial past.
