Jep, I felt that. What kills me is that the first scene in Hogwarts in Harry Potter 3 shows a choir singing. You'd think they would put them on for a performance instead of the entire school making an unrehearsed performance. (For context: The choir at the beginning of 3 was not in the books, nor was Durmstrang and Beauxbatons putting on a performance in 4. They just entered the hall and sat down. They big entrace being their mode of transportation, a large flying chariot with elephant sized flying horses and a ship that can traverse waters respectively [In the books, those entraces were described with a large sense of aw, whereas they quickly breezed through them in the films] But, the entire schools singing the Hogwarts song was in the first book.)

The books are different. Theres boys in beauxbatons for one thing. Just the girls are heavily showcased because Harry gets super focused on Fleurs surroundings
They literally relied so heavy on Harry for their talent in the tournament that their singing was only the beginning of the torture those schools were about to endure.
I always found this a sweet addition from the movies. All the other schools were showing off and trying to impress, but then the host, hogwarts, is making them feel more at ease by showing humility and warmth. Not being afraid of a little ridicule is far more impressive than whatever the two other schools were trying to do.
The funniest thing about the school anthem to me is that since each student sings it in whatever tune they want, Fred and George sing it like a slow funeral dirge, so they're the last ones singing for a looooong time after everyone else has finished their lyrics 😆

Honestly I wouldn't be surprised if France is the Western country with the highest ballet class enrollment percentage for little girls (though most of them end up quitting by the end of elementary school). Due to the conservatoire system, the tuition is dirt cheap and ballet has a strong cultural history in the country.

There is a Japanese magic school, Mahoutokoro. The translation of the name is literally "Place of Magic".
While I don't know if they keep their wand like katanas in sheaths, I do know they won the quidditch world cup because they practice in bad weather and had to dodge planes lmao.

What kills me is that the first scene in Hogwarts in Harry Potter 3 shows a choir singing. You'd think they would put them on for a performance instead of the entire school making an unrehearsed performance.
(For context: The choir at the beginning of 3 was not in the books, nor was Durmstrang and Beauxbatons putting on a performance in 4. They just entered the hall and sat down. They big entrace being their mode of transportation, a large flying chariot with elephant sized flying horses and a ship that can traverse waters respectively [In the books, those entraces were described with a large sense of aw, whereas they quickly breezed through them in the films] But, the entire schools singing the Hogwarts song was in the first book.)

She didn't come with them in the books. She arrived later when they had the lake bit of the tournament
They literally relied so heavy on Harry for their talent in the tournament that their singing was only the beginning of the torture those schools were about to endure.

I always found this a sweet addition from the movies. All the other schools were showing off and trying to impress, but then the host, hogwarts, is making them feel more at ease by showing humility and warmth. Not being afraid of a little ridicule is far more impressive than whatever the two other schools were trying to do.
