Vernon is truly an example of life, he suffered a lot since he was a child because he was bullied just for looking and being different from the rest, but today he is one of the kindest, most positive and empathetic members. He has a very admirable way of seeing life and he always shows himself as real and honest as he can, unfortunately that's why people continue to point him out as the "weird" one in the group. Even if he's not your bias, it's impossible not to really love Vernon, he deserves the world.
South Korea is a very racially homogenous country so people who are mixed stand out a lot. Vernon faced a lot of discrimination when he was younger and was even home-schooled starting from middle school in part because of it.
I'd say Mingyu and Seungkwan are probably the most popular. With how popular seventeen are as a group and people have heard of the group, but it's also almost a guarantee that they know Seungkwan and/or Mingyu. They kind of represent the group to the public especially before 2022-2023 where most of the members now have solo schedules.
Seungkwan always booked and busy with Variety Shows and entertainment, while Mingyu with a lot of modeling and beauty magazines and sponsorships. Also the group coming from a small company Seventeen had to promote themselves a lot on their own for publicity. As the extroverts and Seungkwan being hilarious and Mingyu being so good looking, Seungkwan took over the variety show aspects to promote SVT and Mingyu did the beauty and fashion aspects. Though I think the most popular/most biased within the fandom is Wonwoo, the most well known outside of carats are probably Seungkwan and Mingyu and I'd say Seungkwan more locally and in Korea (which is a huge feat with how many popular idols there in korea) and Mingyu more internationally.

It's funny how you mentioned Dino here because since predebut he's been an honorary member of HHU. Like he'd rap alongside them a lot, especially in predebut stages.
You can see Bongbong in a lot of concert merch. Stickers (of either normal bongbong or each member doing their version of it), tape, coin curse, photocard holder, lightstick cap, plushies but just for Japan concerts, even for their Ideal Cut concert, back in 2018, they all dress as Bongbong, kind of pale pink suit with a blue diamond on a head band
