These men should be proud of their work in the end. What an amazing process to see and to see all of these hard people involved in bringing your dream home to reality. Good job everyone!
OK, as a preservationist, I admit my heart stopped a little watching that little cottage come down in the beginning, but there is no argument that this is an INCREDIBLE house, and I hope your family has made it into a happy home. Great design and execution. Well done! And the video is oddly satisfying to just sit and watch....good with my coffee this morning.
I would have liked to see the inside of the little cottage. I think it looked like you could sit on the porch of the little house and be quite at home. It was sad to see it demolished. The other house was nice, but it could have been built somewhere else and preserve the little home.
@@jewelgaither1504 I think they could have added on to the cottage instead of completely removing it. I’m all for preserving buildings if it’s reasonable to do so.

The key to a successful build is knowing what you want before you start to build it. And Rob would be happy to know that his house is worth about 25% more done, than what it would have cost if someone else did the project management. Good job, well done.
Aw man I loved that cottage. What a cool place. I’m sure it was not fit for modern living but it wasn’t made to. Beautiful new home just hurts seeing what was someone’s pride and joy many years ago become decrepit. Times change and it fucking sucks
I built my own house years back and it wasn't as arduous as one would think. It's like putting together a puzzle. A good sub will offer help making it a little easier. You didn't skimp. I also foam insulated my home. Only way to go. I live in Houston therefore no basement but the heat in the summer is a killer. Anyway, great job!
I nearly cried, the house is wonderful,I would be happy just to see new build in Britain meet,do the same, regards the ceiling height and not being unhealthy to low. A great house👍👍👍
Congratulations Rob! I wish you and your family many beautiful years in this beautiful home! I'm super blessed to have bought my 1st home at 26 now at nearly 40 my wife and I are in the process of building our dream home in upstate NY. My brother's and I still own one of the most famous homes in the BX and the most unique waterfront home on city island. If your ever out on the water it's the big gray one across from orchard Beach. Please stop in for the regular weekend festivities! Congratulations again!
This is awesome, Rob! Not because you're some "rich guy" who can afford a sweet house... but because you busted your ass every single step of the way to make it happen. Respect! And I hope you guys get a lifetime of enjoyment from your hard work!
Congratulations Rob on finishing the new house. Ngl, I thought you'd quit and hire GC after a couple of weeks but I couldn't have been more wrong. Sweet house. And sorry for doubting you.
I want to fix up the house I am in. It was built in 1870 and it needs a lot of work. The first thing I want to do is the roof because we need a new roof. We have two leaks in our ceiling right now and its been like that for years now. I wish I knew how to replace roofs and replace ceilings. I know that youtube is your best friend when it comes to any construction type work or anything that has to do with home renovations. Thanks for uploading this video. The house is beautiful.
Top job my man. Congratulations from a Site Manager in 🇬🇧 UK…it’s about following a process, having a plan (thinking well ahead) & executing…if you run your own business you already have those skills 👏👏👏…it’s not for everyone though.
One of the best house build time lapse videos I sell houses for one of Australia’s largest home builders Very interesting to see the American way of building a home
Depends on where you live. In the south more houses are built of brick. The Northeast built houses of wood first because of the forests. You use the material that is most economical. Silly comment.
Facinating to see how you build houses in America. Looks efficient. And interesting to see how everywhere where stone used, it is only a veneer. No actual handicraft or traditional building techniques are used, it is just made to look like it.
So glad that you shared the experience with everyone and, that you got to build what you wanted. Wishing your family all the best from this side of the pond here in England (Brexitland 🇪🇺🤭). 🤗👍🏻😉
Been following you since ‘life after the quarter mile’ congratulations on your beautiful home, and shall it cherish your family and friends for the miles to come. 👍
I'm amazed they would nail the siding directly to the sheathing right through the house wrap with no rain screen to keep moisture from getting behind it. This house looks nice from the outset but I see so many things they could've done better. I give this house 10 years before you start finding mold and rot behind the walls
Class up top - Gumba below 👍 Beautiful job, looks like your plans were well thought out beforehand and executed to perfection. May you and your family fill it with love and happiness.
@@superspeeders I mean shouldn't the idea of building a home for yourself be the fact that you build a home for yourself. Really if you ever sell it it is likely going to be a good while down the road at which point whatever is good for resale doesn't matter a single bit cause styles and desires will have changed so much it is all irrelevant.
As an aspiring engineer, I only dreamt about having the knowledge and craftsmanship to be able to erect a house like this. The beauty of it from start to finish. There is no perfect construction but this one seems to be. I wish I will be able to produce this superb quality of a house in the future. One can dream :D.
All I could say was wow throughout the whole video! I’ve seen thousands of homes through my years (new home constructions) and this was outstanding in my opinion!!! Top notch. We’ve built 3 little homes or at least compared to yours. 😆
I have to say it's super nice to see a dumpy house torn down and replaced! I have had countless conversations with people that all we ever do is build. Homes have a life span and it isn't forever. No one wants to lose out on a property because it's an investment. It just kills me when homes go into disarray and become left behind and we go and divide up more land to build new homes. Wish there was a process to affordably remove junk homes and make that land available again for reuse.
That was kool! Great video showing what it takes to build a beautiful home like this ! Great workers you had there . Looked very organized as well. That's the tough part . It looks like it was fun job to do. Beautiful home and great craftsmanship going on ! Love watching this video thanks for sharing !
For the amount of money Rob probably makes, this is a pretty humble home. There’s no need for these mega mansions. I’d be so happy with a house like this.
@Amy Taylor I know right, your mom smells like chicken nuggets... But the nuggets have been eaten by dogs and pooped out on your porch and then lit on fire... Yea, not a good smell.

Rob finished his house faster than Shivam's evo!
Good one 🤣🤣
