This is a dream come true--the best synth teacher, with a company which also loves DIY--I did the previous version of Erica's DIY modules last year to start with synth DIY, and that is kind of throwing oneself into the fire. Afterward, I found your classes and wished for a kind of masterfully thorough approach to music electronics education. IT"S HERE! Woohooo!
I have been “playing with” tape music and synthesis for 50+ years. I’ve watched most of your shows. At last, a hands-on education! (Now you young folks have an idea how long some of us have been waiting for this.)
there needs to be a modular synth manufacturers alliance/pledge of sorts to improve consumer confidence: a) all inputs and outputs are ESD protected like ON Semi's CM1213 or the like b) all power headers are box type, and are additionally "low rDS on" MOSFET reverse polarity protected c) if the company goes out of business - designs and firmware are open sourced
I have just begun my journey into modular synth. Exploring the DIY route, scratch built case and a couple of diy modules made already. Can not wait to get my hands on a few ESxMki kits. Looking forward to this and support
Hmm. Sounds like a nice start to a rack. I have been thinking about getting into modular, but I'm mostly interested in designing my own stuff. I certainly do not have the money to fill a rack with multi-100 euro modules. :-)
I personally believe designing your own style music synthesis is superior to just buying pre-made instruments. Especially if modular interests you as it did me. I'm not sure where I saw it, but I think "it's all presets unless it's DIY" sums it up pretty well. As somebody who has gone down that hole though, unless you already have all the equipment and components, as well as copious time and experience, you will find it truly easier, faster, AND cheaper to just spend the dough on some $100+ modules. That being said, it is pure joy to create a beast of your own, as much if not more than creating music on it. You will be that much more inspired and original than sticking to the parameters that others choose. Good luck!
@@AnalogDude_ As a relatively recent beginner, I think it's a good idea to start with things that work, so you can make a noise, and then add stuff of your own.
When can we expect this to come out or get a new update? I just took the jump in modular by ordered my case and a few modules and I'm super excited about these DIY kits!
This may be a n00b question - but should I just assume these are 4u height? I don't see dimensions or specifics about them on the website - just wanted to double check - thank you so much for your awesome content!
It would be! Also something about programming lower level (and cheap) ICs for simple digital things (like LFOs or pitch quantizers) would be interesting
I always wanted to get into modular, this might be the time I take the jump. I was thinking about going the full DIY way with your videos and schematics as a starting point, and this will make it waaaay easier. A module a month I will probably be able to afford :)
Look to Weston Audio for gold standard of formatting and layout for diy manuals, dude has got documentatuon like no other. I am very excited, would be cool to see a Slope module like Maths or Serge DUSG.
Moritz, thats really great news! You can be really proud! I love the approach giving us the opportunity to first move through the design on breadboard getting to know the circuits and then going into the pcb. ||:Brilliant!!:|| By the way, here‘s the link to EricaSynths‘ announcement about your cooperation: m.ruclips.net/video/smjfq046kGE/видео.html
Oh, and i already built about 10 of Befaco‘s modules but didn‘t learn much besides soldering. Not to be misunderstood: i love Befaco and their modules are great, but your idea in my opinion is really a big leap forward in terms of teaching Synth DIY and in terms of supporting self empowerment! Well done!

And all outputs should be short circuit proofed by adding a 1k resistor between the output and the output socket.

Great news. and congrats! Put us down for a set w/ book. Very much looking forward to it

I am happy for you, hope you're getting what you deserve from the deal.I tried the VCF diode ladder filter, works great!
Just preordered! I’ve been looking for something like this for a while now. I’m a complete beginner, so this is just fn awesome.
Man, i really love your videos. Gonna raise some money to buy the modules. I wish you the best and will keep and eye on the channel.
Excellent! Always liked your videos ... looking forward to ordering.
dang, exactly what i was looking for. just ordered the first module

the VCO kit is very close to release now. it will be up for sale either sometime next week, or shortly after christmas!
I like your approach to this project with a focus on education
Great new d.i.y. eurorack kits. I have made a multimode vcf kit from Erica. I hope these new ones haves the same quality.
Awesome collaboration!
Thanks for this kindness, sharing! Any news on the book?
Very cool! The vids are already very brilliant. Would love to assemble a few kits one day. 🤘🏻👊🏻

they’re 3U (128.5mm)!
digital programing series will be amazing

Time stamp pls?
So looking forward to this!

We would love to carry these at synthCube!
Hi. Is the book mentioned here still planned to be released, or was it dropped?
well done ! good luck
I love this idea. Any plan to do preorders for a set?
Also, would be nice to have some kind of LFO/modulation source (with squares to use for a clock)
Great news!!

Same question: when can we expect to see a release of this modules series? Any news?
