    Great video. I've been looking at the Luxe Minipeak XL for a while, looks like a great piece of kit. I've had the Large Nomad View for a little over a year, and I love it. Looks like a winning combo 👌

    I use the nomad medium with the Luxe Megahorn. If weight isnt an issue I use a sheet of plywood between the groundsheet and the heat mat, does help. Another little trick is to store wood under he stove too. Helps to protect from heat. Nice video by the way

      Thanks Michael they both sound like good ideas, i especially like the plywood idea👍. How do you like the Megahorn? I've been looking at some reviews and it looks a nice tent! Thanks a lot for watching and helping me out buddy👍😊

      @@AnEnglishmaninFinland1 Its a great tent. Even better for one person! So much room. I also have the water heater and Flat Fold oven. The oven is well worth it. You can aslo buy leg extensions to raise the stove up higher. I made my own with shelving brackets

    I use canvas painters tarps in hot tent and do not have to worry about melting

  • @bigalcervantes5118
    @bigalcervantes5118 3 года назад +1

    If you want more rigidity I would use a piece of 4×4 wood block drill a 1/2 or 3/4" hole halfway through the block enough to seat the pole. I camp in the sand alot so that's what I use.

    • @AnEnglishmaninFinland1
      @AnEnglishmaninFinland1  3 года назад

      Awesome thanks for the tip👍 I was thinking about drilling a little indent into a piece of ply to keep the pole more stable on the snow, and also drilling 4 holes in each corner so I can push through 4 tent stakes to stabilize it totally

    Hi Simon! That melting of the sheet is a bad thing. You may need to cut a hole at the point where the fire protection comes in. Become a little hungry while frying bacon and eggs. Great video once again. 👍

      @AnEnglishmaninFinland1  3 года назад +1

      Hi Sami thanks a lot👍😊 Yes I think I will cut out the piece of plastic that goes under the stove, it's too dangerous for my liking. But I do want to try the Winnerwell fire mat folded in half first, to see if any heat gets through to the plastic sheet. Having double protection might be ok

    Are you happy with the medium or do you think the large would be better? In particular for a 5m bell tent?

      @AnEnglishmaninFinland1  Год назад

      Hi there, it's hard for me to say accurately because I don't know the size comparison between the Luxe mega horn III and a 5m Bell tent, but im super happy with the medium sized stove in the mega horn tent, it will take -10c outside if you load it all night long

    Hey, bud, I'll be picking up a Nomad stove in the next week or so to go inside my medium Lavvu tent, but I'm still undecided on the small or medium. In your honest opinion you happy you got the medium or think a small would have been more suited? I'll be camping in the wood which would be a 3-4 mile walk from the car. I don't mind lugging stuff about though.
    Thanks

    • @AnEnglishmaninFinland1
      @AnEnglishmaninFinland1  3 года назад +2

      Hi Nathan, if your Laavu is smaller or the same size as my Minipeak xl, then I would go for the smaller stove. The reason that I went for the medium size was because of the length of the stove, at 15". Here in Finland that is about the size of the wood that is available for hikers to use in our National Parks. So when I go skiing with my tent and stove to a National park I won't have to cut the length down on every piece of wood 😊👍 The small Nomad stove will get the Laavu very hot indeed, you will just have to tend to the stove more often than you would a larger model, but no biggy😊

      My pleasure, sorry I couldn't be of more help. Both sized stoves will work very well, but if you are hiking in somewhere maybe the smaller and lighter stove would be better, that would be my way of thinking. Of course if you have money then a super light titanium fold up stove would be suitable 👍😊

    Nice ! Great set up. that’s the medium, how do you think the small nomad stove would work in the tent ? Thanks man , Cheers

    • @AnEnglishmaninFinland1
      @AnEnglishmaninFinland1  3 года назад +1

      Thanks a lot buddy😊👍 The small Nomad stove was actually my first choice for this tent and it will be perfect for it👍 The only reason I went with the medium size is the length of the stove, at 15" there is a good chance that the already cut logs in our National Parks here in Finland will be able to fit in the stove without any processing. If I had to process the wood myself I definitely would have gone with the smaller Nomad, which had a length of 11" or 12" I think.
