I love your Golden Eye movie idea. Assassins Creed Genesis is a fantastic idea too, for a short side mission/mini game to have within the new AC game. That would just be hilarious, and you know people would love it.
Double Dragons is one of those games that deserves a reboot…Reboot would be an awesome movie too. That show kicked ass. And the live action trailers of GTA are proof of concept that a live action show or movie could work. I think if they made a movie, and used it as a sorta live action prelude to a new game they release afterword, that would be cool.
Shaq Fu is the winner though. I wanna see that movie in the summer line up.
I really need a Bioshock series. Cover the rise and fall of Rapture. How has it taken this long to get something going. Could be retro sci-fi and Succession/Thrones all at once.
Jay talking about Christian rock bands took me back to my youth. Audio Adrenaline, Newsboys, DC Talk, Supertones (yeah, that was ska, but they could go HARD), I was there, homie. Actually, one of the nicest bands I ever met was Sonicflood. This was during the early days of my stagework in a work study program in a Christian university. The lead singer was even kind enough to help us during the load out all the way through. It was refreshing to see someone back up their message with actual action. Anywho, EXCELLENT pitches y'all!

I'm with Adam on the Ring, but for a different reason. I watched the Ring at like a teen center after school one Friday. Afterwards, it was getting dark while I was walking home, and my mom called and asked that I record a show for her on the VCR when I got home. Being home alone, putting a blank tape in.... man it gave me the heebie jeebies

8:24 I got my wife so good RIGHT AFTER we watched "What Lies Beneath." We rented it and watched it in our apartment with the lights off. We were in our early 20s. She would get scared so easily by any remotely scary movie or show. She did okay through that whole movie, but I timed this perfectly.
I got up after we were done. I walked out of the living room and just past the bathroom, which already had the light on and the door open. I look in the bathroom and I stop. I know she's looking at my back. I just stare into the bathroom for a couple seconds. And then, without breaking, I say, "Honey, did you fill up the bathtub?" Oh, she lost it! I'm not doing it justice here, but I timed it perfectly and it was so funny. She was so mad.
1:17:56 GTA 5 was first released in September of 2013. GTA 6 is set to be released in 2025. 12 years.
Over the years, GTA 5 has been released on 3 different generations of consoles. I own it on PS3, PS4, & PS5. And it had NO FILLER GAMES between main releases like the others did. GTA 3 was followed by "Vice City" and "San Andreas." GTA 4 was followed by "The Lost and Damned" and "The Ballad of Gay Tony." GTA 5 has leaned on GTA Online in the interim. Although they have released A TON of missions and stories over the last decade of its existence.

I had forgotten all about Wing Commander the movie. I didn’t play the game, but I really remember the movie being better so I watched it again because of this podcast and realized no it was not a good movie. I then remembered I had read the book based on the movie and the book was better. Thanks for the memories. 😂❤

Yeah Lego Batman was not responsible for the franchise’s successful surge. If you ask kids, then sure, but if you ask someone who was over 30 when the first Lego Batman came out, the DC films carried all the weight of the overall franchise.
I think from Jay’s perspective and experience he is absolutely correct, but not objectively. Still luvya guys! Keep opinionating!
VIVA PIÑATA SMASHING PARADISE!!!
I wanna see a new viva piñata animated movie. Maybe the sour candy got mixed with the sweet candy and started to ruin all parties in the world of paradise. And the piñatas have to buy clothes and sneak in to piñata central to ship themselves in crates infiltrate the professor Lester pester base. Then a massive fight between the sours and piñatas breaks out. I can see it in my mind. It doesn’t have to be super complicated at all.
Regarding successful adaptations of video games to the screen, I think there's one big one that deserves credit that you missed. Arcane was amazing.
I want a dark cyberpunk Mega-Man X anime movie that's similar to Bladerunner.
I feel like the reason there’s no GTA movie is that it’s itself already based on classic movies/TV show. Like, GTA Vice City is pretty much a cross between Miami Vice and Scarface.
I haven’t gotten to the pitches yet so idk if it’s brought up but my number 1 is Red Dead Redemption 🤷🏻♂️ could be amazing
I'm 100% with Jay on this one. E.T. is a scary character design and as a child I had to leave the room a lot, when my sister wanted to watch the movie. I have sat through the entire thing over the years, but it still scares me.
