We're seeing a number of comments asking if we used the board in PRO mode. YES, we performed all of our tests in PRO mode, and YES, the Meepo V2 does kick hard off the line, but there are a couple subtleties that may be causing confusion. First, the board can aggressively jerk the rider on launch, but it can't sustain this torque (hence the less impressive 5 - 15 MPH time). Second, a bad control system can make a board feel quicker than it actually is. To those claiming they don't want more power, we suspect you may change your mind if you experienced a better control interface.
I have a new wowgo 2s and have not ridden any other eskates but i can skateboard . personally after a days use i feel the main issue for the wowgo and possibly the other boards is the trucks and suspension and concave for control. the wowgo2s takeoff is great but I wouldnt mind a little more juice in the middle of the acceleration and we definately do not need any more discussion about the top speed, these board are already way too fast for public use and i fear will soon be legislated like ebikes if we as a community are not responsible . the main thing these chinese boards need now is comfort and control for the long ride times. the pavement lines on some paths alone are enough to rattle your bones in 10 minutes let alone bad roads (is there a esk8 suspension truck available?) and for the trucks its almost like you need a lever for soft and hard that you can quickly engage or disengage to give you stiffness for the speed wobbles and then softness for carving. or a truck that stiffens based on speed. i have the board fully cranked to hard for stability but often find myself needing to get off to get rounds basic corners and thats pretty annoying. lastly a lot more concave would make a huge difference to being able to carve even with stiff trucks. the board maker who makes a cheap board with suspension, better trucks and way more concave has my vote
But meepo tells you that this is the mode for jerkyness...it has the exact same specs as mode 3, just one has an crazy acceleration. I think the complaint here is that meepo poorly advertises it, and a rider should only ride in mode 3 unless you're racing someone.
This looks like a very professional review and imo very complimentary with Daniel's review. Awesome work! Personally, as a total eskate noob, i prefer feeling comfortable on my board over speed. So I'm happy with my Wowgo 2s and the price I paid for it. I commute whenever it's not raining now and it feels soo gooood.
I am very impressed with the customer service I received from Meepo. I had an issue with my invoice (my fault) and even though the sale was paid and completed, Meepo went way out of their way to support my request and resolve my issues. The communication and customer service was fantastic! After many weeks researching all the eboards on the market for this price range, I finally chose the 38" V2P over the Wowgo2s, Verreal, and others. I wanted the option of replacable PU wheels, this was a must. Also, the performance/price ratio was unbeatable. I like that fact Meepo strives to have continuous product improvement after reading many of the reviews. Looking forward to receiving my board and trying it out (will provide a ride review later). I hope Meepo V2P does come out with a bigger wheel option for this board that I can purchase separately. This would be perfect for riding around the more historic parts of Madrid.. thx Meepo!
I know it is rude, but I feel glad when somebody says WowGo is better then Meepo, because I've ordered Wwg few days ago and was deciding between it and Meepo so hard :D
My WowGo Mini was actually delivered yesterday and I didn't ride it yet, but I'll hop on it probably today and let you know how are my first impressions. So far so good, board came with everything what was advertised and everything is working just fine. The only minor issue I had was that the package I had decent delay and it was shipped to Europe not in 15 days as they say, but in 24. It is probably because of they are busy a lot and it was sitting on the border for quiet long time, but no tax was charged, whats great... :-)
I've finished my first ride and It's awesome. I have never ride snowboard or skateboard before, and tbh I though that it will be easier but I feel the improvement every minute of riding, although I was even scared to go full speed on beginner mode. It will just throw you off, if you aren't skilled. It's power is insane dude.. The only annyoing thing about that are vibrations, which are pretty strong, but you can buy anti-vibration pads and that should help. Also I hope that next generation will include feature, which will allow you to lock wheels in place while not moving. But yeah, it was definetly worth it. :-) Advertisment says, that you'll get the board in 15 days, but again, mine was delivered after 24. Not a big deal :D
Hey guys, this review seems to be a little biased in my opinion. I’ve had the meepo v2p now for about 3 weeks, and I haven’t seen any of the “issues” they are referring to. It’s totally controllable, it has amazing hill climbing ability, excellent acceleration, and definitely does not brake when you accelerate down hill. I haven’t had any connectivity problems going over bumps either. I don’t know why they are bashing the meepo, because from what I’ve experienced so far it’s freakin awesome 😎!!!!! Don’t listen to these guys. Maybe the Wowgo is good too, but the meepo is not all the negative things they say it is. I’m super happy with my purchase. Cheers 🍻.
Or buy an ownboard - wowgo is actually using their esc/Controller combo.. Oh and thanks for the honest video most reviewer don't really care much about smoothness.
Does anyone take push start into consideration. When I start on a board I never just stand on it and throttle. I give it -2-3 good kicks, get those hubs rotating and BOOM then I throttle to paradise. Am I the only one that does so?
Awesome comparative review. Best I've found so far. Could you please make a comparison between the Wowgo2 and the Ownboard? You helped me exclude the Meepo but now I have a doubt between these two boards. Thank you
Which battery do the boards have? Are Samsung batteries better than LG batteries, although they have a lower capacity? I refer particularly to voltage sag
I was hoping you guys would do this comparison! I was just about to upgrade the ESC on my Meepo 1.5 but now think I will pass. That being said, I’m curious to see why you guys think this version is slower, seems strange.
Just seen your vid on the DIY 12S. have you concidred putting offroad tyres on it. Ive just done the same with mine and It made ride comfortability so much better at higher speeds.
i'm curious about the controller of both company, is that really big different between wowgo and meepo? because lots of channel are always mention about it.
Great video. I'd like to see you get your hands on the new board from @FabTRAV Fäboard. It's not the hottest specs but as you point out here the interface and performance is very important.
I'm disappointed that it didn't perform better for the sake of competition in the market, but on the other hand I don't regret ordering the wowgo 2s the day before V2 was revealed.
Update here's a consumer review I got my meepo v2 today and I can confirm that the acceleration on the 4th mode isint that significant it's crazy fast at the start almost making me fall off but it fails to keep the steady fast acceleration.
Nicholas Horton are you happy with your meepo tho cuz I’m thinking of getting one, and did you regret getting it and would you rather exchange it for wowgo 2s or your happy with your meepo
Aye skate, I was wondering in your opinion what board would you recommend for transportation? I need to get somewhere 2+ mile away and all these reviews confuses me. In my area there are just a few hills as-well. So, what would you recommend?
Hmm, I don’t know about this, my Meepo short launches from its standing position, quite frankly, with more pep and go than I could possibly imagine anyone asking more for. Any more acceleration would be too much and unreasonable in my opinion. I would rather that Kieran at Meepo focus more on improving the smoothness of braking, and the quality of the deck, not any more acceleration. I don’t have a Wowgo so no comment on that, maybe a good board, but I would have to disagree with the summary of this video pertaining to the Meepo. Maybe I’ll make a video of my own very soon, and you’ll see that the acceleration is way more than sufficient. ..... but... thanks for sharing your thoughts. The way I see it, Meepo has been updating and improving the board very frequently/ quickly and says a lot about its future. And from my experience provide great customer service. These are not little things to overlook.
Do you have the meepo short v2? You should definitely make a video of your own and explain your experience with it. I ordered mine yesterday! :) It's my first eboard, so I hope it's good. What's most important for me is hill-climbing & portability.
ruclips.net/video/c0pgNtebNuA/видео.html (here you go, hope it helps, def be excited my friend, its my first electric board and im just so excited to get home from work to ride around every day. Be smart, get a helmet ! Peace and love)
Yes. You're confusing a bad control interface with high low-end torque. Any board can throw you from a standstill if it suddenly and unpredictably pushes. We experienced the same thing Kwan did.
I drove my meepo V2 this weekend. I image you are right that they smooth the acceleration a bit. So there is slower acceleration. But I think they are balancing acceleration vs usability. I don't like their braking system, seems too sudden. Not much soft slow down. Their controller needs more work for sure. But I love meepo able lock at still! Just this feature I ditch wow2s
Terry Wu I feel the same way. I like the option to stand still on a hill, and the accel curve is a bit easier on a newer rider who isn't looking for a ton of pick up.
I was deciding between the Meepo and the Wowgo, but yesterday I went w/the Meepo. I hoped the Meepo V2 would have a better control interface, but guess not. :/ I also went w/the short board because I wanted portability. My main concern is acceleration and climbing up hill. I weigh 125lbs, so do you think I have anything to worry about?
Great video! Already bought a Meepo v2, which now sounds to be a bad idea. Thinking about refunding and ordering the w1s ownboard instead, what are your opinions on this board ? :)
I find it surprising that the Meepo is more stiff given that they are supposed to have the same materials in the deck and that the two boxes underneath are further apart. Probably it's due to the concave as mentioned in the video
When my Meepo 1.5 was delivered, I was very surprised. The board rode well and seemed good for it's price. But after 1,5 months the problems started. The esc cover started to crack and one wheel (with a hub motor) started to make a terrible sound while driving. It also got worse and worse. I even stopped riding the board. Meepo said they would send me a new esc- cover but I have not yet received a confirmation of that. But then the real problem started. Meepo (Kieran) refused to send a new wheel (with a hub motor) because they say that it sounds normal after I sended them a few videos. They also stopped answering me on Facebook and via mail they responded in average once in 3 days. The sound is not normal because it only comes out of one wheel. So the result is that I have to buy a new one by myself, although I still have 1 month garanty of the 3. I'm very disappointed in the company. You can see some videos on my channel.
Brian C last time I checked, wowgo's truck did not break lol. I know meepo updated the quality, but I think the difference is made by the kingpin angle. Apparently you can see new bushings on meepo too.
I love your video. Bur the chart that you used comes (for rmeepo 1.5) form Meepo 1.5 witch 30 inches not 38 inches deck. It could lead to some inaccuracies. So i would sougest doing the same test for meepo 1.5 38 inches deck and meepo 2.0 inches, just to be precise. Still i think video is grate.
You didn’t mention anything about rider weight in these test especially the drag race. Ime rider weight is the biggest factor when it comes to acceleration.
That Bingo Rider weight is kept constant across all benchmarks, and the riders in the drag race shown on video are of nearly identical weight. If you're curious, our test rider is about 145 lbs.
When Meepo finally copies WowGo2S and chooses the smoother controller, I'll still be happy that I did not choose the Meepo v2.0 or v1.5 at the time of my purchase. I'd rather have smooth controls and a bit less power (I probably wont need to go over 38 kph anyways) than the future improved "Meepo v 3.0", than to have the same performance but poor control with the Meepo v2.0 when compared to the futur Meepo v3.0 (using the WowGo2S controller), if such a board is ever to be made.
YungFlepeX I'll give you one review in 5 seconds it sucks do not buy I have one and it's terrible nice deck and trucks but the board cuts out and short circuits due to bad soldering on the battery to esc and has horrible vibration issues also controler is bulky and has a weird texture oh also the top speed sucks only 18 mph they like on their site dont be fooled.
I can confirm what Nicholas Horton is saying. Everything he said is true. I'm so pissed I wasted $500 dollars. I should have just bought the motors on diyeboard that had the replaceable urethanes and used my meepo's esc and battery with a deck swap and I would have something far better than what the backfire was. I was pissed to see the top speed of the backfire was the same as meepo and the vibration issue was never solved even with new wheels.
Must have not been on 4th speed mode. I have 1.5 and version 2 and can honestly say that the V2 4th speed mode is fucking dangerous. It will throw you off the board if you dont crouch and lean forward. Watch Daniel Kwans vid if you dont believe me.
Esk8 Forum same thing with waterproofing and replaceable urethanes. I'm very disappointed in the company for screwing its most loyal customers like this.
SkateMetric Competition drives innovation, in the end consumers win. There will always be the next best thing, but if you keep waiting you’ll never get to enjoy what’s available at the moment. They probably didn’t plan to update so quickly, but with pressure from their competitors they had to push out updates.
Esk8 Forum Of course, but their poor planning and lack of transparency hurts anyone who bought the original. They obviously had this in the works before and should have waited two weeks to release the V2 or at least informed buyers of their options.
SkateMetric Totally understand how you feel. There will be more options later as feedback is collected, such as solid color remotes and wheel PU color options.
+SkateMetric - I think this might not be the case and that K's final decision to update could have been influenced by a post-release criticism presented by a particular review/comment - he & his team seem to pay close attention to user opinions ...but it can frustrating, no doubt
But this is outdated...the new meepo V2 has "beast" motors with a top speed of 29 mph and stronger torque, and they are using even better trucks called the "shredder" trucks, and they've updated their ESC again.
This review seems like a load of shit compared to all of the other positive Meepo V2 reviews. It legitimately seems completely biased against Meepo, and for that, I wouldn't particularly trust it.
+SkateMetric As a huge amount of people in the comment section have questioned whether you even used Pro mode during testing, this clearly indicates that your experience with the v2 board is completely different to the vast majority of Meepo users.
CaptainSchlockler because a few people who'd never used the Meepo V2 (much less tested it) were surprised by the performance, our objective tests are invalid? Me thinks someone bought a Meepo and is, dare I say, biased towards reviews that tell him what he wants to hear.
Look at Daniel Kwan's review of the V2 - I don't think he's saying anything remotely like the V2 is lacking in acceleration or speed, or has problems with being able to smoothly take off in Pro mode. Plenty of people in the comments are saying that the V2 isn't lacking in acceleration. I'm just trying to figure out how this review can be so completely different to the experiences of plenty of other V2 users. If it wasn't so biased against Meepo, I'd be more inclined to believe this as factual review.
CaptainSchlockler He didn't benchmark its acceleration. It's that simple. Whether or not you personally feel the acceleration is impressive depends entirely on your experiences with other skateboards and expectations. Our data does not. It's a simple objective measure that proves that the V2 is not as powerful as its predecessor and barely more powerful than the WowGo after ~10 MPH. If you want to dispute its validity, point out an actual methodological flaw or contradictory data. And calling our review biased for being critical is silly. Why isn't Kwan's review biased for overlooking flaws? Ironically, the answer to that question is your biases.
We're seeing a number of comments asking if we used the board in PRO mode. YES, we performed all of our tests in PRO mode, and YES, the Meepo V2 does kick hard off the line, but there are a couple subtleties that may be causing confusion.

SkateMetric ok now i understand it thanks

You forgot ownboard
Haha we uploaded 2 minutes apart. Great informative video again!
Daniel Kwan Oh wow. Nice.
Haha and I just come from your video Daniel ;D been fed with 2 interesting comparisons.. ;)
Weird how you stated you have crazy acceleration and almost fall off going from start so why does skatemetric state it "dosen't accelerate"
I just came from your video! Great work both of you. I have the Wowgo2s, glad its still in some ways relevant!
Nicholas Horton maybe he’s lying?
Skatemetrics you guys have the most informative videos. I wish you guys would put out more frequently. Keep up the good work.
Likely they're buying all these boards. Would be kind of hard to fund.
This would be perfect for riding around the more historic parts of Madrid.. thx Meepo!
Their customer service is very good and they respond quite swiftly.
Wow! Really love all the data! You guys are really a great resource for production board info! Great work
- Neil
Wow - that answered the EXACT questions I was asking! Nice work dude!
Great video, love the charts. nice work. would ALSO love to see the Verreal board in this lineup.
I know it is rude, but I feel glad when somebody says WowGo is better then Meepo, because I've ordered Wwg few days ago and was deciding between it and Meepo so hard :D
Vojtěch Flídr ahahah you’re the best
Vojtěch Flídr Hey, I'm also deciding whether to buy the WowGo 2S, how do you like it? Is worth the money?
My WowGo Mini was actually delivered yesterday and I didn't ride it yet, but I'll hop on it probably today and let you know how are my first impressions. So far so good, board came with everything what was advertised and everything is working just fine. The only minor issue I had was that the package I had decent delay and it was shipped to Europe not in 15 days as they say, but in 24. It is probably because of they are busy a lot and it was sitting on the border for quiet long time, but no tax was charged, whats great... :-)
Cool, that's great, so shipping to Czech Republic takes around 15-25 days, huh? Well anyway, please let me know what you think about it :-)
I've finished my first ride and It's awesome. :-)
Advertisment says, that you'll get the board in 15 days, but again, mine was delivered after 24. Not a big deal :D

davb001 I agree I have the v2p and it is great.
Or buy an ownboard - wowgo is actually using their esc/Controller combo.. Oh and thanks for the honest video most reviewer don't really care much about smoothness.
It's actually the other way around.
Guys! You are so good and super professional, you should make more reviews! Thanks
Thank you
So what did you decide ?
@Dom C what do you recommend?
meepo board can customize the brake power tho. in case you didn't know that.
Thanks so much for this review!
Which battery do the boards have? Are Samsung batteries better than LG batteries, although they have a lower capacity? I refer particularly to voltage sag
another spot on video!
What battery did you get on the wowgo? It has three different options. 4.0, 6.4 or 8.5ah
Would love to see you compare the Ownboard W1S with Samsung 6.0 battery against these two other boards.
By far best reviews I've seen from anyone! Thank u. Any thoughts on wowgo 2s vs ownboard?
I was hoping you guys would do this comparison! I was just about to upgrade the ESC on my Meepo 1.5 but now think I will pass. That being said, I’m curious to see why you guys think this version is slower, seems strange.
What's board to buy, lets say to 700$ or less ??
Just seen your vid on the DIY 12S. have you concidred putting offroad tyres on it. Ive just done the same with mine and It made ride comfortability so much better at higher speeds.
i'm curious about the controller of both company, is that really big different between wowgo and meepo? because lots of channel are always mention about it.
Meepo controler has modes for brakes You can change it by holding brakes on controler and swiching modes

Nicholas Horton are you happy with your meepo tho cuz I’m thinking of getting one, and did you regret getting it and would you rather exchange it for wowgo 2s or your happy with your meepo
Would not give up the speed from the meepo for anything .
Aye skate, I was wondering in your opinion what board would you recommend for transportation? I need to get somewhere 2+ mile away and all these reviews confuses me. In my area there are just a few hills as-well. So, what would you recommend?
CookieRage_Pwner WowGo or Ownboard.
Nice review! Where do you ride in the Seattle area?
This was a great review.
When is the backfire review coming? Can't wait for that one!
Hmm, I don’t know about this, my Meepo short launches from its standing position, quite frankly, with more pep and go than I could possibly imagine anyone asking more for. Thank you!!
do you guys weigh the same? 10 or 20 lbs difference can make HUGE differences in acceleration and performance
Are you sure you were in the 4th power mode the acceleration I hear is crazy
Nicholas Horton same. Really weird considering what others reported
Yes. You're confusing a bad control interface with high low-end torque. Any board can throw you from a standstill if it suddenly and unpredictably pushes.
We experienced the same thing Kwan did.
SkateMetric that makes sense thanks guys you should put an annotation in to inform people so u get less comments lol
Oh dang it. Wait so...does the 4th mode actually accelerate faster than the 3rd mode then?
Daniel Kwan definitely, yeah.
I would like to see more comments about the practical usability of the Meepo 'wheel lock' feature - which other boards have it?
how long it takes before you get the wowgo at home
I was deciding between the Meepo and the Wowgo, but yesterday I went w/the Meepo. I hoped the Meepo V2 would have a better control interface, but guess not. :/ I also went w/the short board because I wanted portability. My main concern is acceleration and climbing up hill. I weigh 125lbs, so do you think I have anything to worry about?
nerfytart Doubt it. Your weight is way below their testing weight.
Great video! Already bought a Meepo v2, which now sounds to be a bad idea. Thinking about refunding and ordering the w1s ownboard instead, what are your opinions on this board ? :)
Emil Mathiassen you can't refund meepo's boards
Can you please do a review of the diyeboard 10s5p kit? That would be awesome if its possible.
Would like to see the Acceleration vs Speed graphic on other board like ownboard. Nice video
I find it surprising that the Meepo is more stiff given that they are supposed to have the same materials in the deck and that the two boxes underneath are further apart. Probably it's due to the concave as mentioned in the video
Can you guys test the new Backfire G2S please?
Great video🔥
You can see some videos on my channel.
why do you say wowgo trucks are a lower quality?
Brian C last time I checked, wowgo's truck did not break lol. I know meepo updated the quality, but I think the difference is made by the kingpin angle. Apparently you can see new bushings on meepo too.
Brian C good question, I'm also wondering what makes the Wowgo trucks and base plate inferior to others?
right? all i heard was the meepo had trucks snapping, and never heard anything about wowgo trucks being bad quality.
The front kingpin has room to wobble at its base. It's not a huge practical concern for most riders, but it's not ideal either.
+SkateMetric - is there a fix that you can recommend?
Does this guy have a bad past with the Meepo v2
so Meepo V2 or WowGo 2s?
I really wish someone would compare these to the Ownboard w1 6.0 or 6.4
Why there is different graph in your video and on your website. On website at the beginning meepo v2 has faster acceleration then v1.
Because this is probably a sham review. xD
???
I love your video. Bur the chart that you used comes (for rmeepo 1.5) form Meepo 1.5 witch 30 inches not 38 inches deck. It could lead to some inaccuracies. So i would sougest doing the same test for meepo 1.5 38 inches deck and meepo 2.0 inches, just to be precise. Still i think video is grate.
can you guys review the meepo v3
I want to buy my first board, but can‘t choose between Meepo V3 and Wowgo 2S
what did you buy?
Wowgo 2S
the 2s acceleration is fine I don't see it slow or boring, its got plenty of speed
Hello i was wondering if i could buy the 12 sec DIY monster skate board or just where i buy the parts😀
You forgot to mention the WowGo 2S has noticably higher quality bearing than the lower quality brearings of the Meepos
+ Jonathan - can you back that statement up for the Meepo V2?
- rjw - the Zowgo2s has Zealous bearings
Can you review ownboard?
YungFlepeX it's essentially a WowGo 2S, which we've already reviewed, so we probably will not, sorry.
PLZ REVIEW THE NEW MEEPO V3
You were always in PRO mode (the 4th) ?
Thomas Champagne that's what I'm saying ????
You mentioned it at the beginning yes. But i wasn't sure all the review has been done in that mode.
Yes.
I thought Meepo would accelerate faster...
I thought everyone...
Wowgo 2s shipping is 100 times better although the new hub motor trucks are worth the $30 from Meepo.
Why the fuck for heavens sake did the acceleration decrease with the 2 mepoo😭
This video feels way biased. Show the Meepo V2 Pro mode versus the WowGo 2S!!
Eric T The Meepo was in pro mode in every shot in this video.
I was thinking...I'm HUGE ASSHOLE/DICK!!! If you go to 0:27 I would have SOOOO pushed those kids into the water and skated away Scott free!!! LOL!!
Can you review the backfire 2?
When did you guys buy?
YungFlepeX 20 days ago
Isaiah Llarenas I'm returning mine my dude paypal has my back I hope
Must have not been on 4th speed mode. I have 1.5 and version 2 and can honestly say that the V2 4th speed mode is fucking dangerous. It will throw you off the board if you dont crouch and lean forward. Watch Daniel Kwans vid if you dont believe me.
*Well shit. I have ordered the V2 Meepo 5 days ago*
Spraying down board hahaha o lord.
Meepo board v2 Plus just dropped, looked like they listened. Check it out if you get a chance.
Rip meepo 2.0 sales
FALSE Review
This review seems like a load of shit compared to all of the other positive Meepo V2 reviews. It legitimately seems completely biased against Meepo, and for that, I wouldn't particularly trust it.
CaptainSchlockler the numbers don't lie.
What part did you recommend replacing on the Wowgo to improve carving? Can you provide a link?
Informative video. Thanks,
Vs ownboard?
What battery did you get on the wowgo? It has three different options. 4.0, 6.4 or 8.5ah
