Starting Jiu Jitsu or any martial art at a a very young age age WITH a twin brother is literally goals for my next reincarnated life. Start at the age of 3, by the time you’re 20+ that’s already 2 decades of training with a 24 hr training partner who is your twin. That’s the Ruotolo brothers.
@@derrickrobinson7269 Right? imagine waking up to get ready for school but then your twin brother trolls you by jumping out the covers and pins you on the wall then takes you down? ofc you aint leting that shit slide, so you scrap with bro till mom comes up to tell yall to brush your teeth lmao. It's that 24/7 scrap life.
You are on point. Read the book Outliers (by author Malcolm Gladwell) to see how the success of these people is more due to circumstances than to their skills.
Yes and no, high level grappling like that is very demanding on the body, ones carreer at that high level cant last very long without permanently injuring yourself
@@jacksolarmusicmastering you see loads of guys in their 30s still competing at the highest level, if he doesn't get injured heavily he could be on top for the next 10-15 years.
Tye Ruotolo is the coolest athlete in jiu jitsu right now. It's one thing to be successful and innovative or even dominant; it's another thing to have an utterly inimitable style, a breakneck pace of aggression, and even an iconic celebration. Flying into a D'arce and then grimacing like your life depends on finishing it makes Tye a kill-or-be-killed fighter, a truly natural athlete, somebody who seems born to compete in this sport and this sport alone. And VoteSport really outdid themselves this time --- from the electric, tight-as-fuck narration to the frenetic, frame-perfect editing. What I find most admirable is that this is not just a video about Tye; it's a video about the wonderful, exhilarating, hyper-technical world of contemporary jiu jitsu. And it brings hope to my heart that this weird little sport may very well continue to grow and grow until it has dozens of competitors every bit as exciting and idiosyncratic as the Ruotolo brothers. If you want to introduce your friend to sport jiu jitsu, then I can't imagine sending them a video better than this.

@22:20 How is he doing that? I watched it 5 times at 0.25 speed and I don't understand how he manage to teleport from the under position to sitting on top of the other? He should be ended on his back on top. This guy is really something special!
You should be on public tv! This kind of resumes, highlights are the best! Very exciting with a lot of energy and super narration and video. Cheers bro.
They need to challenge in UFC for MMA then we can see how good they are. They have Rosas there who is also a beast. One FC only good for Muay Thai and Kick Boxing events.
Yes. He might be pretty good at MMA. Fighters that use heel hook in high level MMA tend to get their face smashed. This guy and Cade have a lot to learn. The hey need good striking to succeed. The time when great bjj is enough is long past. We will see. The wrestling base of someone like Bo Nickel is a better stating point. Top control scores in mma not the bottom.
Agreed, the majority of BJJ doesn't translate well when the opponent can smash you in the face or use wrestling to get a dominant position while they throw knees into your ribcage. There's a reason why you only see roughly 4 submissions do 90% of all MMA wins via sub. It's an amazing tool to the skill set but if you don't know how to clinch, punch and ground n pound then you're in for a bad time.
Tho this is so much more fun to watch then any UFC fight, like this is constant skill, never sloppy fights, very technical and less chance to get a dumb brain from all the punches
They not fighting Dagestan best that’s why lol them brothers would get smoked if they fly to Dagestan to face the best. Any Sambo world champion would eat them for snack.. They safe at home facing B & C fighters 😂
I dunno why you'd want to subject your body, and particularly your face, to the striking game in MMA when you can probably make enough money in BJJ if you play it right. These guys are amazing and huge for the sport. Maybe they want a new challenge, but the toll it takes on your body is no joke.
Can you explain how obtaining the same sort of money and notoriety from eventually competing in UFC the way these 2 are most likely envisioning would be possible by just sticking to one discipline ? Common sense says it shouldn’t be
They're in BJJ so their ears are probably already f'd up. And the greatest danger in MMA is the same than in BJJ : a lock too quick that goes to a career ending break or dislocation. Getting KO'd is fine by comparison.
@@oneoranota Getting punched or kicked so hard in your skull that YOUR BRAIN automatically switches itself off --- for self preservation ---- is not fine. A few traumatic shut-off's like that and the brain MAY be permanently damaged. It is an extraordinary organ; but it is not indestructive. If you had to choose ONE serious career ending injury, arm or leg dislocation is way better than traumatic brain injury. Very few of these MMA fighters ---- who suffer routine KO, from body to head blows ---- will be able to walk, talk, and function like an average elderly, when they are 60, 65, 75, 85, etc. They'd need tons of special care. The hip dexterity and adductor strength needed for a sweep like that is only accomplished through hours and hours of mat time. That was pure art.
