Imperator Rome is probably my favorite Paradox game at this point, it's quick and easy to get into, I love EU4 but what a learning curve that has

I know I love it too! Such a shame they stopped development on it it could have been a flagship franchise like eu4!

So good it became the standard way of playing and it's resurrecting the game.

Something I recently learned, if you have tribal vassals and get them to around 200 loyalty (helps if you friend the ruler) they will often request to become a client state, which you can integrate in the future. It’s how I managed to conquer most of Gaul in my current run.

Ye I’ve noticed that a couple of times, it helps out a lot with larger empires! Thanks man! :)

Cool, I live in that region called Cortoriacum. No idea why it was chosen to become the capital of Belgae though in that mission tree, it didn't even exist in that time perod. Cortoriacum started as a roman settlement and that name only appeared in the 4th-5th century AD.
Cortoriacum (Kortrijk) was the site though of the mythical Battle of the golden spurs in 1302, where we pretend that the Flemish stood up against the French and kicked their butts and gained our independence, casually forgetting that the French came back a few years later and kicked our butts. While also ignoring that there were troops from what is now Wallonia fighting on the Flemish side, and that the French had troops from what is now Flanders fighting on their side. And last but not least completely ignoring that the cause of the conflict had nothing to do with "Flemish independence", but was about city priviliges and a social conflict.

Idk if they have invictus content, but you should try playing Cimbria, one of the greatest threats in roman history.

Just e quick suggestion, set all provinces to auto trade apart from your national capital, that way you'll make a bit more money and also be able to ensure the trade bonuses are working for your capital.
