Hi Amelia! The markets there are amazing! So many wonderful things. We love Spain too. It’s such an amazing country!! 😁 Thank you so much for checking us out!
Spain is kind of boring, you really need someone that nows to take you. The night life.. the history and the right place to eat this and that. You could easily come out seeing nothing. My parents are from there and I go with family, if I go by myself, I will do nothing or see nothing. It is very secretive, where at 2 am this happens in this bar, but it's dead in a hour because everyone is at another location. You won't know unless you know the locals or ask. I was ripped off by a taxi in Seville in 2000, I will never forget that or the taxi driver, yet so many wonderful things I already forgot. Sad. The people of spain are very different, along with many of us have no idea what we are. We could have came from Germany years back and feel we are from the country, we could have been middle eastern or Celtic or greek or Basque and have no idea. The jews have been there so long, Israel has done a study and has seen in the DNA, 40% jewish ancestry, what about muslims, what about Celts, or other cultures. Fernandez is not a Spanish name, but German, from the Visigoths, but they left when the muslims came.

Wow, that's really nice of you Guillermo! Thank you so much. Cádiz was one of our favourite places in Spain and we're looking forward to getting back soon. We know there is so much more to see and do. Thanks again and stay safe! 😀 - Michael and Lindsay.
Cádiz, my home city, is very nice. In Spain is called "La tacita de plata"(tiny silver cup) and the whole province is wonderful too. A visit to the Archeological Museum at Plaza de Mina should be something to include in your diary. There are artifacts from Phoenicians, Romans, Arabs... that show you a view of the history of Gadir, Gades, Qadis to the actual Cádiz. Carnival (in february but next year in June) and Feria all around Cadiz cities and towns in Spring, are colourful and enjoyable. Next time spend several days discovering cities and towns like El Puerto de Santa María, Jerez (the land of Sherry wine and flamenco), Rota, Chipiona (moscatel sweet wine), Chiclana, Sanlúcar (try a cold Manzanilla wine and prawns) Conil, Barbate and Zahara de los atunes (in blue tuna - we call it "atún rojo"- season, May and June is a must) and the beautiful and savage Bolonia beach near Tarifa (Tarifa is 14 kms from Africa at the Gibraltar Strait). In the mountains (Sierra de Cádiz) visit the Pueblos Blancos (White villages) Arcos, El Bosque, Benamahoma, Grazalema, Zahara de la Sierra (good olive oil), Villaluenga (try the world famous goat cheese "Payoyo") and do trecking watching the unique fir trees "pinsapos". Setenil de las Bodegas is a charming place too, with houses and streets cover on top by the mountains. In short Cádiz has got lovely people, good gastronomy products and wines, nice views and some of the best beaches in Spain. Enjoy your next visit to Cádiz and greetings from La Caleta beach!!! By the way I'm not a tourist operator, I'm a "gaditano" proud of my lovely and beautiful Cádiz.
Gracias! This is some great insight and information, and a great itinerary for our next visit. We definitely wanted to visit more of the area, but weren't able to this time. Next time for sure! Thank you again!
Thanks for watching! We agree completely, Cádiz is beautiful. You should definitely try to go if you can. It's an underrated travel destination. We loved it!
Beautiful video, thanks for show and sharing our city. I hope you enjoyed it!. There is a saying in Cádiz that says "The person from Cádiz is born wherever he wants", therefore, you cannot be tourists feeling how you feel about this city. Thank you!! Dont loose sunset from La Caleta´s Beach!

The other name of Cádiz is "Cái"; very popular expression. A "gaditano"´s grand daughter, (me, I am Uruguayan. I love Cádiz: it´s my place in the world. Regards.
The name Cadiz came from the Greek name Gadir because Greeks were the first colonial power of the Mediterranean. They also brought their famous sword the Kobesh that used to conquer the region. That sword derivated into the Falcata by the Celtiberians that later the Roman copy into the Glaudius Hispalienses swords of the Roman Army under Octavio Augustus. Just some military history. Wonderful job with your video!
I've lived in Cádiz for the best part of 20 years, I love the city more every day! This video is fabulous... possibly the best I've seen about Cádiz! Well done. I'd do almost exactly the same as you did for one day! The only big miss was La Caleta beach for sunset... next time!

La Candela was fantastic as well. We still think about that meal! We hope you both have a great time on your trip! Say hello to Cádiz for us!

Thanks! We visited Cadiz in late May/early June and only for a short period of time. It's been quite a while since we've been there, but we remember thinking it wasn't enough. 2 days minimum, 3 would work well we think. (As is always the case, it depends on what kind of traveller you are: Whirlwind travellers might only need a night or two. Slow travellers may need much more.)
Hi Tarek! Thank you for watching! We are so glad that you enjoyed the video. We loved everything about Cadiz. Our only regret was not staying longer. Have you visited Cadiz before? :)
Tarek Grez How exciting! That sounds wonderful. We thought it was a beautiful city with great restaurants and lovely people. It would definitely be a place we would go back to. In a heartbeat. Stay well! ❤️
The video could be much better, you have no idea where you are at, but both of you make the video fun. After seeing your other videos, I am amazed so many people travel around the world making travel videos and I love it, wish I could do more traveling, I have done quit a bit, but you both make the video enjoyable, as if I know you. there are others who say much more but spend most of it eating and in their hotel. Some education would be great, what I would be looking for but it also makes it boring. Cadiz is believed to be the oldest city in Europe, it's special is tortilla de camarones, which is nothing like a spanish tortilla and more like a Mexican one, it has clams, usually young and illegal to fish, yet they use them. Cadiz has roman ruins and so much more, I have gone twice and still feel like I haven't seen anything. Not my favorite city in Spain, but yet so much to know about it. I bet a good majority of Spaniards have never been there. This is like the United States, you stay in your town and rarely step outside, unless you go to Paris.
Pepper Mars We do love our coffee! Lol! Top three is such a great question. Hmmmm...Bar BRIM in Cádiz, Sant Eustachio in Rome and Paszkowski in Florence. We’ve had a lot of good coffee. :)
I need help!!! Where should I study abroad in Granada or Cadiz? You’ve shown me beautiful places! Where did you feel like you could live for 4+ months at?
Hi Vanessa! Oooh, this is such a good question and a hard choice. We loved Granada's history and culture and food scene, along with the general vibe and buzz but Cadiz was so beautiful and right on the ocean, which is nice if you love the beach. Also it's a short trip from Cádiz to Sevilla which is also nice especially if you are there for awhile. If it were us we'd probably make our decision based on cost of living and other factors like wifi availability etc. We suggest heading over to numbeo.com to see what may suit you best! Hope that helps a little bit. Good luck!! We hope you have a great experience wherever you land. 😁
Good question! Depends on so many things; travel style, other destinations on your itinerary, etc. However, if we were to go back, we'd probably spend more time in Seville. Beautiful, vibrant city with plenty to do.
@@HeGoesSheGoes Just nervous about going in August, and the vibe of the siting being dead. I love patio sitting, and people watching. I want there to be life, but I hear that August is extremely dead.

@@HeGoesSheGoes I'm the slow kind! Thank you so much!
@@rosefern1855 You're welcome!
ok i think it's a nice period what is your camera a gopro ?
Thank you so much! We have links to all the gear we use in our video description. Hope that helps! 😃
Wow! Les quedó precioso el video! Si tuvieran que decir que no les ha gustado de Cadiz, que sería?
Hi Tarek! Thank you for watching! We are so glad that you enjoyed the video. We loved everything about Cadiz. Our only regret was not staying longer. Have you visited Cadiz before? :)
@@HeGoesSheGoes No! I haven't but I'm planning to move there! That's why I'm doing my reserch hehe
Tarek Grez How exciting! That sounds wonderful. We thought it was a beautiful city with great restaurants and lovely people. It would definitely be a place we would go back to. In a heartbeat. Stay well! ❤️
You should visit Bosnia,Bihać!It's amazing to.
Yes! That is a great suggestion! We can’t wait to be able to travel more. 😁 Thank you for watching!
Hi Ray! Thank you for watching our video and for your super thoughtful comment! We appreciate it so much! 😁
Best cup of coffee?! Wow that’s a pretty high honour given how many different countries and cafes you’ve been to. Do you have a top three?
Pepper Mars We do love our coffee! Lol! Top three is such a great question. Hmmmm...Bar BRIM in Cádiz, Sant Eustachio in Rome and Paszkowski in Florence. We’ve had a lot of good coffee. :)
Excuse me for insisting but I think the quality of your video is very good, which video camera do you work with?
Hello Philippe! Thanks so much! We use the Canon M50. There’s a link to the camera in the video description for more details. Thanks again! 😀
Definitely Granada
Cádiz
Do you suggest Cadiz or Seville for three nights in August?
Good question! Depends on so many things; travel style, other destinations on your itinerary, etc. However, if we were to go back, we'd probably spend more time in Seville. Beautiful, vibrant city with plenty to do.
@@HeGoesSheGoes Just nervous about going in August, and the vibe of the siting being dead. I love patio sitting, and people watching. I want there to be life, but I hear that August is extremely dead.
@@camerontayfour8897 Ah. You could be right! We're not sure about that. Hope it works out for you!
Could you please share when was this video filmed?
Hi Poonam! Our trip to Cadiz took place in June 2019. Thanks for watching!
@@HeGoesSheGoes thank you for your prompt reply.
Very pretty! I went to Cadiz Last july and i was amazed by this city 😍 I have made a video about it myself if you are interested!
Thank you so much! Cádiz is amazing!

What time of year did you visit Cadiz? Temperature?
Hi there! We were there in the first week of June and the temperature was great, usually in the mid 20s celsius during the day. It was quite windy too.
@@HeGoesSheGoes Thanks that is a big help for next year's plans. Where did you visit after Cadiz? We are looking at driving from Portugal. We have visited Seville (favourite) twice and Cordoba.
@@lisesmyk3664 You're welcome! After Cadiz, we went to Seville (and loved it!) and from there we flew to Porto in Portugal. Before Cadiz, we were in Granada and Madrid. Hope that helps!
@@HeGoesSheGoes Yes it is a help. We are going to do a similar trip, only reverse to yours next winter. Spending this pandemic time planning and booking places. 😉
En Cádiz sucedio la Batalla de Trafalgar 1802.
Cuando la Grand Armé,francesa junto a la Armada española , lucharon contra Inglaterra y perdimos con la ayuda del almirante Francés Villeneuve.
Thanks for sharing Ana! We weren't aware of that. The history of Cádiz is incredible.
@@HeGoesSheGoes Pero no te ha dicho que en el combate murío por un cañonazo el Almirante ingles Nelson. Saludos desde Cádiz

Is it december?
Hey Serg! Although the video was published late in the year, we visited Cádiz in late May. Thanks for watching!
You guys are Canadian aren’t you?
Yes we are!
@@HeGoesSheGoes you can always tell. ❤ Canadians are great people and their vibe is so different and genuine. I’ve never met an unpleasant Canadian. Thanks for the video. I’ll be going to Cadíz soon and I’ll think of the lovely “Canucks” in this video while I’m there.
@@SuperStella1111 That's lovely of you to say! Enjoy your visit to Cadíz, Hoping you have the best time. We sure did!
How much for the room?
Hello! Thanks for asking! We booked the room through Airbnb and it was approximately $90 CDN per night.
No guys it’s not Cadid, it’s”Caí” or CAdiz
Great tip! Thanks!
🌞👍💟💋
Not over run with tourists..... wait to the cruise ships come in
Sigh. I miss the world.
Yes. 100% yes.
There is no children park in Spain without a bar next to it I dare to say.
That's because, specially in Cadiz, we have such a wonderful warm and sunny weather so it's lovely having a cold drink in the sun while watching our kids outside playing in the park 😉
Don't make a a mess. Simply pronounces as locals do :Caí.
Hi! This is super helpful Ignacio. Thank you so much for sharing. 😁

Que hace la mujer sentada en la iglesia y hablando por telefono!! Mal
Hi Carlos! The thing that looks like a telephone is actually an audio guide for the church. Audio guides are awesome for learning the history of these beautiful churches!
@@HeGoesSheGoes gracias ahora estoy bien
No es un teléfono, es un audio guía para escuchar la explicación .
Soo boring
