- The 2024 NFL Draft is just under 48 hours away and the Chicago Bears are on the clock. While on "The Pivot" podcast, USC QB Caleb Williams was asked what he hopes to achieve. He said quote: “I want to play at one place for 20 years, and chase one guy - No. 12. “I want a place that loves ball. That’s all I’ve heard about Chicago so far." Emmanuel Acho, Joy Taylor, LeSean McCoy and James Jones react to Williams' comments, then reflect on their expectations for the QB in Year 1.

Joy will you marry me?😍
Hearing Joy argue with professional players about what it’s like to be out there in an NFL game vs a college game is insane.
However Joy makes the most sense so what's your point. Just because they played that doesn't make them experts on all things. Acho's expectations for a rookie are insane especially with GB and Det in the same division.
Women.
@@Keith-yf9wqIt definitely makes them more experts on more things than joy 😂 cmon now bruh
often she make more sense than them. only one who make more sense than her more often is james jones.
It's cringe worthy.
I hate listening to the national media talk about the Bears 🐻 because 90% of the time they don’t know what they are talking about.
Watch it ends up being another Jets disaster happened to the bears 💀
Oh you should be a BROWNS FAN LOL
Literally bro especially Joy and Shady smfh they’re not experts they have only slightly more knowledge than the casual fan about any team that isn’t one of the 3 or 4 glamour franchises or a team they root for personally
Acho thinks he's smart, but he's very silly.
You should want to be the greatest. I like that mindset Caleb
But it just won't happen, one loss he's off crying🚬, just as he did against ND
@@thisguy8373didn’t cry against ND
@@hmmmm4902see that’s the thing with these people, they can’t get their facts right😂
@@thisguy8373you’ve clearly never watched Caleb Williams
Only 5 quarterbacks in NFL history have passed for over 4,000 yds as rookies. That is "generational."
You know acho has to glaze to the extreme
This right here is one of my favorite comments
Haha and 0 quarterbacks for th Bears have ever reached 4k yards. The odds are against him
@psychkosys the fact that he plays for the bears has nothing to do with the odds being against him. The current regime was not there for 150 years. He is the first QB that this regime has drafted. The odds are against him based on the fact that only 5 have ever done it as a rookie. BUT all 5 of those rookies have done it in the past 12 years. So with that being said, the odds do get a little better if recent QBs are starting to do it more often. That's how odds breakdown. You can't just use the past for current odds because everything is different.
I'm with Joy and Shady on this one. Elite pros struggle in the NFL. Let Caleb play in the NFL and see how he adjust. Too many expectations.
agreed.... flying awfully close to the sun before taping cleats for a single nfl game....
He said this himself he put on his own expectation
You don’t know ball bro
On one hand they hype him up, on the other they have zero expectations. That’s not how it works
If caleb has 4000 yards, we should be winning playoffs games. Especially with thus defense
Acho talking like when he played he was good 😂lol
😂😂😂
Joy and I are qualified. Played same amount in NFL 😮😮😮😮
She has more experience in covering the NFL, has spoken to more NFL players, has family that has played in the NFL.
So yeah hasn’t played in the league like yourself, but is 1000x more qualified to speak on the league then yourself 😉
Her Brother is former Defensive player of the year and Hall of Famer Jason Taylor 🐬. She knows a little something about football.
@@Liquiddna89blaa she talks in extreme generalities. You never see her breaking down plays like Acho and James. I’d argue she needs to do more homework, become capable of talking scheme. Dave didn’t play, but when on… he comes pretty strong with stats, and even talks some positional personnel scheme.
@@randomupdates4013 I can agree with you with some of that, but not all. I believe she does her homework, because how can you not when you are sitting next to 3 ex NFL players. You need to be on top of your game.
I think the panel (and any panel) needs to be versatile and I feel she comes at takes from a different perspective, which sometimes brings clarity.
I mean how many times do you hear JJ responding in agreement to what Joy has to say. Most shows I believe.
@@Liquiddna89blaa I think on The Herd, and first stages of Speak she was quite a bit more genuine personality wise. Now she’s doing the skip Bayless, overstate takes in generalities and play up a persona. She can do better than this. I’m not just gonna give a pass cause she’s beautiful. Bring back Dave!! Give Dave his flowers homies. Stat based humble takes. 🌺 Dave vs Shady used to make Speak! 🗣️ Wish Dave had a permanent seat which he earned. It’s not glazing. This is what people are saying he is lol.

People are insane, size is a skill in the NFL. You’re no longer running against linebackers that couldn’t make it on scout team. You’re playing against grown men. You’re playing behind lineman who are 6 foot eight. I have yet to see a small quarterback be amazing their first season
Kyle Murray? Mike Vick? Steve Young?
Agreed. I’m sure getting hit by the likes of Micah, max or Bosa is a lot different to getting hit by a college kid
@@MikkiChavez mike Vick was 62, Steve Young with 62 and built… Kyler Murray is hurt all the time.
Steve and Michael are the same size as Aaron Rodgers they are not undersized . Caleb Williams is 3 inches to 4 inches shorter.
@@Liquiddna89blaa it’s also seeing over your own line. Most college lineman are short and big. Then you get in the pros and they’re 6 foot four and up. Look what Russell Wilson has to do. He has a bootleg just to see the middle of the field.

The thing about Trevor Lawrence is he went to a true dead last team that didn't prepare him roster-wise. She Joy always brings him up like he's a bust. When his numbers are decent.
Rookie year - 4000 total yards, 14 TDs(total) and 17ints.
2222 year - 4500 total yards, 30 (total) TDs and 8ints playoffs and playoff win
2023 year - 4400 total yards, 29Tds(total), 12ints
He's played the best from his draft class of QBs. The Jags haven't been that good in awhile. If it wasn't for Strouds theatrics the Jaguars would of made the playoffs 2 years in a row. She needs to quit using him as an example!
Someone tell her that 2-7-1 is 10 games not 17

For the first time shady actually sounded competent
He'd be lucky to be as good as Rodgers.
As good as Rodgers?....... Rodgers is the greatest passer the NFL has ever seen! Nobody is a better passer than Rodgers. The most accurate QB IN NFL HISTORY....... THAT FRUIT CAKE WILL NEVER BE RELEVANT

Chicago is a tough place to do that. Especially if Justin does well in Pittsburgh. Chicago had it right and they fumbled

Every draftee’s goals are the same:
Prove the doubters/haters wrong;
Same team, 12-20 yrs (dep. on position);
Make the HoF;
Give back to the community;
Retire their parents;
Help family (college, health care, etc.)
It’s always the same stuff! Idk why reporters keep asking these guys the questions that will elicit different versions of the same answers.
Acho with the USC colors
Tf does the packers beating the cowboys have to do with Caleb Williams and the bears💀
I mean let’s be REAL !! It is the same sport Joy !! Lmfao 🤣
Joy is right about Trevor Lawrence. Acho is trying to downplay the expectations for Trevor Lawrence however Trevor was more celebrated throughout his whole college career starting as a freshman. Trevor was considered a can't miss prospect.
Trevor was also compared to being the best QB prospect since Andrew luck. Now everyone is acting like that didn’t happen and now Caleb is the best prospect since Luck.
Honestly he will be extremely lucky to accomplish half of what Arod accomplished
I want to see how the Bears are gonna draft especially that 9th pick. Cause if they draft Dallas Turner with Sweat in the other side and they get another WR in the 2nd round boiii I’m calling 11-6 cause their schedule is really favorable
Keenan Allen ain't gone like yall showing Caleb with his jersey # on 🤣🤣🤣
He won’t live up to the hype
Acho was a three year starter in college and road the bench in the NFL and he like ain’t no difference 😂😂
Good piece! As a Bears fan I expect the most from Caleb Williams. He'll be tested, scouted, and tested some more, but football is football at any level. Caleb Williams will be fine.
I get what joy is saying, but I still would LIKE for them to get the playoffs. I think it’s entirely possible and I HOPE it happens especially with the talent and with the way he played in college, would love to see him break some rookie record, be it passing yards, TDs rushing yards etc.
The way these mfs move the goalpost is funny asf.
Every week they try to down play what expectations they previously said ahead of time. For a number one overall considering all the talent Caleb has himself and the type of talent he has coming into from day one . There is not many situations with a number one overall coming into a stacked roster
Joy is right, Caleb isn’t ten first “generational” prospect
When Trevor was drafted he was -50000 to go first in the draft
Caleb right now is a -20000
The hype and praise around Trevor was ridiculous
Bears play a last-place schedule. They're arguably the best team to ever have the #1 pick... Their D can be Top 5 this season (especially if they draft the best defender at pick 9) they have the talent, better coaches than last year AND the confidence to beat their NFCN opponents - watch them take the North immediately
Can’t compare Caleb Bears team to any team Justin Fields has had. No rookie has ever walked into a sweeter situation then Caleb Williams in the history of football
How are people getting onto Joy rn? Acho is sitting next to her saying the transition from college to the league isnt that hard (he lasted 2 seasons in the nfl mind you and was a starter in just 2 games) but Joy is the problem?
Caleb is coming tho
Really, where? Over there..he's got bust written all over him
If Caleb couldn't lift USC to 10 wins when he was the best player on the field in almost every game, why should anyone expect him the elevate the Bears when he isn't going to be the best player on the field as much?
Bro aint getting anywhere near bradys level 😂
They all saying to ignore the rookie year. But thats not what they did with justin fields. Fields only okayed for 3 years and he only played his rookie year cause the staring QB got injured
Shady has great perspective.
shady spitting. he be on some other stuff usually but today. my guy making all the sense!
With this Bears slightly improved defense that was nearly the best in the last half of this last season and a significantly improved offense and the rest of the draft.... This is what we expect from the Bears and Williams.
So that we have the minimum expectations and the "too high" expectations.
4000-5000 yards passing, 30-40 TDs, 10-13 wins, a playoff berth - NFC Championship game appearance.
Cam Newton, Justin Herbert did the best on paper. CJ Stroud maybe the best full season rookie QB playoff run. ( I know Purdy had one too but😏.)
We've never seen a generational rookie QB join an NFL team "this good on paper."
If he translates to the NFL and plays all 17 games based on his college game average that's almost 300 yards a game and 2.5 TDs a game = 5000 yards and 40 TD's.
I think he's intelligent enough to process the NFL game. It's about the matchups. Will his receivers be open and the offensive line give him time to pass? These are luxuries that most rookie quarterbacks getting drafted early in the draft don't get with the team they join. Then a proven defense!
I don't see any reason why Caleb Williams doesn't put on the best rookie performance and numbers we have ever seen in the history of the NFL!
This is ridiculous. If Caleb throws for 4000 yards with the bears roster it would be ridiculous not to make the playoffs. On paper the bears literally have a top 5 team. There are very few teams that have a roster like the bears. The chiefs won the superbowl and they don’t have a better roster than the bears, they just have a solid roster with the best QB in the league
You can tell Caleb has alot of queen in him. He don't got that ice cold killer instincts Brady had
What did Williams do against top defenses?
Trevor Lawrence didn't come into a team with these weapons. If Caleb is that dude he should win more games for the bears den they did last year
I only watch this show for Shady! I appreciate his opinion.
I predict 3,700 yards , 32 TD's 22 interceptions . Rookies usually throw a lot of interceptions . That would be a good 1st season for him .
A division 2 QB in Tyson Bagent won 2 games with the Bears. Caleb Williams will look amazing if he plays average for bears QB play. Saying the bears are far behind the packers and lions is crazy considering we got so much better and they didn’t and we owned the lions 2x last year. Don’t sleep…
Maybe I'm missing something. I don't see Caleb williams as a better qb prospect coming out of college than Trevor Lawrence or Joe Burrow. I think he is going to be a really good player, especially with the weapons they already have in Chicago.
Won 7 games last yr while tanking, yes making the playoffs this year is an expectation
Cj hit 4 k but also missed a couple games at the end of the season
Everyone is missing the point that the bears passing game this year is going to depend upon this incredibly quiet but "swifty" RB room. 😅
Thats the reason why we gotta address Left Tackle and Center in the draft. Period.
Good debatable topic for distracting people
Some processes need refinishing and refining
I said it
Acho be meat riding on National TV
He may be a rookie, but he will have veterans out there helping him! Just like college, he was throwing to college players against college players with college help. Everything he will be doing will be to and with professional players!
If you're going to preach patience with a player maybe don't call him generational, that word creates expectations he may not live up to his first year.
The nfl needs to extended the season for another month, add one more game and then add 2 more bye weeks. The offseason is so brutal with how these guys yapp about the same stuff
so they going to act like its not negative 15 degrees with wind in chicago & green bay ? lol
4000 yards is not hard in todays NFL with todays rules keying to the offensive players plus the 17th game.
Shady moving the goalpost for him every chance he get
Joy, just relax baby. We know.
Man shady hit that
Cj got to 4k with way less talent from the running back to the receivers. In Caleb division they should be looking to playoffs I’m not saying win but playoffs absolutely
Shady is on point
You have to be good enough to not get traded.
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE LORD let Caleb Willians play for our beloved Bears for 20 years. PLEASE.
Joy and Shady hate Chicago
Facts
Right bc if Caleb was going to the Jets or Cowboys, they’d be blowing him
They keeping it honest
@boycottpowell9905 nothing Joy says makes sense honest or not. Everytime she speaks I change the channel
How ?? 😂😂
Agree with Joy and Shady...no, it's not the same game. If that was true, then every QB that is drafted would be awesome. And it's not true. Regardless what you did in college, the "PROS" is very very different. If he lives up to some folks expectations he will be great. But rookie season is always an adjustment. I don't care who you are, it's an adjustment.
Acho made a terrible point about his experience. He played against those guys in college and he was a good player. He was trash in the nfl literally proved Joy and Shadys point.
Biggest question is who r the Bears playing this year?
Acho just love contradicting everyone hahahah
Ocho has to 🛑 with the Packers/Bears are close the Bears haven’t beaten the Packers in almost 5yrs GTFOH 🤦🏽♂️ nasty work Ocho
Him and everyone else wants him to go all the way this rookie year. Why should the expectations not be winning or at least making the playoffs ? Everything else is hyped
Bers should have won both games vs the lions and kept packers to 17 pts and have better coaching . And they split with Minnesota but could won both of those . The line did its job the qb just need to get rid of the ball sooner and he now has more weapons and rem they should have beat the browns also
So in Ochos opinion he is saying CFL and NFL which is a different sport is not different because they are both football? I have a hard time believing this guy played.
Good goal. Good for a young man to believe in himself
She said Dr Taylor hype!? Bish you ain't no doctor sheesh (Kevin Samuel's sound bored lol)
The Bears are going to be good this year!
Justin Fields averaged less than 200 yards a game and a little over 1 TD pass a game.. If CW can improve on those numbers, which is not unreasonable, the Bears will make the playoffs. Especially since CW doesnt have to throw 50 times a game because the Bears defense is potentially top 5.
I don’t agree on everything with Joy but she knows ball. She needs to just be more confident with what’s she’s saying and don’t feel undermined when one of the guys disagree, y’all all have good points and ur arguing over language for the most part.
I hate how Joy makes it seem like thr bears were awful last year. There were literally two games away from playoffs. Bears actually didnt get eliminated from playoff contention until the 2nd to last game
let's go Jay Boyd 🔥🔥🔥🔥 2024 draft pick
Chicago plays in the cold in the winter time so it’s gonna be hard for him to get 4K yards
As an actual Chicago, this is the most ridiculous notion. Our past winter was incredibly mild, only snowed like 3 or 4x. It’s been milder over the past few years and the worst months are Jan-Feb, when the playoffs begin. Plus, he’s from DC anyway.
Always giving people like Trevor Lawrence a pass because it was a bad situation but then s*** all over. Justin Herbert. It's so wild how much hate they have for him
Caleb is starting to sound a lot of Josh Rosen and we all saw how that turned out.
Acho already have him in the HoF though
