  • The 2024 NFL Draft is just under 48 hours away and the Chicago Bears are on the clock. While on "The Pivot" podcast, USC QB Caleb Williams was asked what he hopes to achieve. He said quote: “I want to play at one place for 20 years, and chase one guy - No. 12. “I want a place that loves ball. That’s all I’ve heard about Chicago so far." Emmanuel Acho, Joy Taylor, LeSean McCoy and James Jones react to Williams' comments, then reflect on their expectations for the QB in Year 1.

      @psychkosys the fact that he plays for the bears has nothing to do with the odds being against him. The current regime was not there for 150 years. He is the first QB that this regime has drafted. The odds are against him based on the fact that only 5 have ever done it as a rookie. BUT all 5 of those rookies have done it in the past 12 years. So with that being said, the odds do get a little better if recent QBs are starting to do it more often. That's how odds breakdown. You can't just use the past for current odds because everything is different.

    Bears play a last-place schedule. They're arguably the best team to ever have the #1 pick... Their D can be Top 5 this season (especially if they draft the best defender at pick 9) they have the talent, better coaches than last year AND the confidence to beat their NFCN opponents - watch them take the North immediately

    With this Bears slightly improved defense that was nearly the best in the last half of this last season and a significantly improved offense and the rest of the draft.... This is what we expect from the Bears and Williams.
    So that we have the minimum expectations and the "too high" expectations.
    4000-5000 yards passing, 30-40 TDs, 10-13 wins, a playoff berth - NFC Championship game appearance.
    Cam Newton, Justin Herbert did the best on paper. CJ Stroud maybe the best full season rookie QB playoff run. ( I know Purdy had one too but😏.)
    We've never seen a generational rookie QB join an NFL team "this good on paper."
    If he translates to the NFL and plays all 17 games based on his college game average that's almost 300 yards a game and 2.5 TDs a game = 5000 yards and 40 TD's.
    I think he's intelligent enough to process the NFL game. It's about the matchups. Will his receivers be open and the offensive line give him time to pass? These are luxuries that most rookie quarterbacks getting drafted early in the draft don't get with the team they join. Then a proven defense!
    I don't see any reason why Caleb Williams doesn't put on the best rookie performance and numbers we have ever seen in the history of the NFL!

  • @1SuperD1
    @1SuperD1 18 дней назад

    This is ridiculous. If Caleb throws for 4000 yards with the bears roster it would be ridiculous not to make the playoffs. On paper the bears literally have a top 5 team. There are very few teams that have a roster like the bears. The chiefs won the superbowl and they don’t have a better roster than the bears, they just have a solid roster with the best QB in the league
