It would be a great idea if the “What If..” series has a “What if Captain America was part of the snap, and not Bucky.” I believe the IW ending would’ve been much more emotional and Bucky would’ve played a bigger part in Endgame. In my opinion, Bucky wasn’t used enough after the Captain America trilogy and this series would’ve shown us a bigger Hero side of Bucky.
Great idea for a what if, what if the other side had been snapped away.

@@riosfavcolor just saw this comment lol.. but I meant as since Bucky has died twice in Steve’s eyes. It would be the first time Bucky seeing Steve die. Which would’ve driven his character to get his best friend back with the help of the other avengers. And lead them, obviously different from how Cap did it in endgame. Especially with conversations with the other avengers like Thor and talking to Stark when he gets saved in the beginning of Endgame.

Seb's acting skills kill me :'( I'm so sorry for Bucky. I mean he is basically innocent, never wanted to harm anybody and had to go through so much, but now everyone hates him and wants to kill him. He even hates himself for what he did. In so many scenes you can see all the pain that resulted from that in Seb's eyes, it's amazing. It actually makes me want to cry for this fictional character. Oh and by the way, great video, it really catches all the feels, so props to you for that ^^

I am extremely disappointed with how things went for them, and now I'm hurting myself rewatching all the Stucky content I run into-- I loved them so much and I still do, the one in Endgame wasn't our Steve. He didn't fight a war to have his Bucky back just to leave him right after--
I'm so sad because the Stucky shippers are probably either going to be sad for the rest of their lifes or turn to Winterfalcon as a replacement, but I will always see it as a second choice.
Steve&Bucky were meant to be together, I've never seen a bond so strong and no one can tell me it wasn't love.
That parallel between 3:31 and 3:35 tho 😯 Bucky and Cap are both experiments which succeeded, but had different consequences. I did not notice that until now, that's good writing 😊

Bucky's life story is tragic. But man... Sebastian Stan put it together so damn beautifully. His portrayal of Bucky makes my heart ache.

This is what a real friendship is. Bucky hurted him so much unintentionally but Cap never let him alone and helped him even knowing that Stark'll became his enemy too because of him.

That part was The Winter Soldier talking. He was never deactivated from. When he fought Steve in CA:TWS. Notice how he talks in that scene, as if he's speaking to Steve formally, in comparison to after he's knocked unconscious when he tries to escape via Demo's orders. He wakes up and talks to Steve as if he's the old Bucky from brooklyn.
3:13 "Buck, stop" .... this Line hurts me every time I'm watching this video.. Steve just sounds so sad. He wants him back sooo bad and can't take it anymore. The fight against his own friend. All that he wants is his good ol' Buck back with him.. On his side. And all he has in that moment is his childhoodfriend whose running away, again. He might never see him again after that. It all has to end. Steve is just so tired to keep bucky save. But he would do it till his last breath. All of it just for bucky... Fuck, ... Ok, enough

First marvel movie i seen was Civil War and when Steve says that, I didn’t get it at the time. Then I watched the rest of the Marvel movies and now every time I hear him say that, I always think that Steve is secretly trying to say “Bucky stop! You’re all I have left. Don’t leave me again!”

@@Erikazelaya902 Well, only the return to Peggy looks like this: the character has come a very long way to take and return to the beginning. And it turns out that all this way was unclear to what. He left Bucky, he left his friends. He left the world he had already become a part of. Now he will be in the past, knowing that somewhere out there Hydra is torturing Bucky and forcing him to kill people. And there's nothing Steve can do about it that won't change the future. Strange happiness.

I think he is the one and only who can represent the ideals of Steve Rogers, adding also his desire of redemption.
I know that Steve passed the shield to Falcon in Endgame, but I think that it is because Bucky didn't feel worthy for what he did in the past for HYDRA.

As a kid with an extremely traumatic past full of things that I remember but don’t want to, things that torture me every day, this character rips my heart in two every time I see him. Sebastian Stans portrayal of him moved me to tears. I’ve cried for this character multiple times and will always cry for him. I love James Buchanan Barnes. I always will.
i've always supported the idea of a bisexual Cap, but I've been blind to this ship for years. It wasn't until I rewatched Winter Soldier recently (for like the 5th time) that I realized wOW _they're really just out here saying that Bucky is the only one fit for Steve_
edit: regardless of shipping them romantically or platonically, though, I've always loved their friendship, and this was a great video

It seems to me that Steve was sent to the past because the line of development of this character came out of the image that was conceived for him. As far as I know, Captain America was conceived as a character who embodied traditional, conservative values. And this is not about orientation or any specific parameters. I'm talking about the whole image. Steve is out of this frame. But by design, he could not turn out to be a character with a gray morality or there, gay, bi, or someone else like that. Therefore, for me, this move looks like this: he was just urgently sent to the past.
In fact, this is devoid of logic. It wasn't just Bucky he had left in the present. He has a lot of friends here with whom Steve has a history. He's been through more with these people and inhumans than he has with Peggy. And she was in the past for him. He knows that she lived a good life without him, that she had a husband. Steve can't know Bucky can handle it without him.
Therefore, I do not accept this turn. Strong characters do not go some way, acquiring a bunch of friends, connections, the world, then to drop everything and escape into the past literally. This is an escape that is not in Steve's nature at all. He has no justification. Therefore, I believe that the author took this step because Steve went beyond the boundaries.

honestly Bucky's story is so sad, imagine always being confused as to who you are, because people want him as a weapon only, but then someone shows up and genuinely cares for you which confuses you more cause you know you've done lots of bad things.

Steve just wants his best friend back, he just wants to go back the to 1940’s and live his life and Bucky has just been through so much and i can really see that pain in his eyes. they’re both incredible characters and the actors put them together so well
Funfact: Bucky becoming the Winter Soldier wasn't because of the serum,as we got told the serum can increase the good or the bad things in a person. Bucky was as pure-hearted as Steve was,the problem came with all the psycological mind control Hydra did to him.

Watching this made me realize that in Civil War, everybody lost in Civil War, including Steve and Bucky. Steve went to Peggy's funeral, had to violate the accords to save his best friend and keep his rights, had to fight Tony, lost his shield, doesn't see Bucky again for another two years, and was known as a wanted criminal. Bucky was known as a wanted fugitive because of HYDRA, had been under HYDRA'S control for so long that he forgot who he was and who Steve was, getting hunted down for something he was unwillingly forced to do, already had PTSD before all this, lost his arm, decided to go to Wakanda to get HYDRA out of him because he couldn't trust his own mind, and wouldn't see Steve again for two years.
