Timberallpower yes, I would love to be able to do this without looking at it. But here's a tip. After looking at the drawing, you can get used to doing it. It will get easier. For me it takes a couple months but I know you'd be able to do it!

Frostlii hello!! i might not be Tennelle, but i can give my two-cents about this. The head and body are connected, but sometimes the characters head will bounce a little more depending on the movement. The body and head will move, it looks unnatural having only the legs and tail move. hope i could help :D

.... woops... looks like your cat walks like a dog though. Pretty sure cats walk with a gait of front left, rear left, front right, rear right.... one side moves together instead of opposite like a dog does... but sometimes cats can be weird. Animation is smooth and the time it took to get each part done is amazing though. I love layers... layers makes things SOOOO much easier. I'm not an animator but I have done a bit of animation... mostly I draw so learning your tips for animation is crazy helpful. I just need a better art program to help organize and produce what I'm after. Since I don't see it in the description... what art/animation programs did/do you use?
Not related to walk cycles, but I'm learning how to use clip studio paint. My muzzle keeps looking like a dog when facing left or right and my paws keep being screwed up. Apart from practicing on this, what do you suggest is the easiest way to get these correct? I've watched tons of Warriors and just random cat drawing vids and I still am not doing that well. I'm one of those late birds with the technology drawing, because I'm great on paper, but can't seem to get it on the computer correctly. Any suggestions would be great!

+BadgerStrike It's a pretty expensive program. If you have any other animation program like Flash or Photoshop, these same rules apply, so don't feel like you have to have Toon Boom. There's also some free animation software you can download off the internet: OpenToonz and Pencil. OpenToonz is a great program, but it's also pretty new and has a complicated UI, while Pencil is really simple and easy to use, but is about as complex as MS Paint. So if you're looking for tutorials on any of these programs: Finchwing has a good step by step process of animating in PS, and HulluMel has some really good tutorials to get you started in OpenToonz. There's tons of tutorials you can check out for Flash, and if you do decide to get Toon Boom, I have several tutorials on the program to help you get started and showing off some of the cooler things you can do with it!
Thank you, this helped alot. I have seen Finch's tutorial and I do have pencil. But pencil is in beta so there are a ton of glitchs, and it's very hard to use. I've been thinking of getting photoshop elements, would this be a good idea?
+MoreSmore Open your animation, go to file, then export movie. I save as quicktime at H 264. It'll make your animation a .mov file, which you can then upload to youtube.
Honestly you should run online classes on animation and drawing. And have lessons and grade people's work. I would pay for that
