The BWF World Championships is held every year except for the year of an Olympic Games. It is a showcase of the very best in the sport and it determines who are the World Champions in each of the five disciplines, men’s and women’s singles, men’s and women’s doubles and mixed doubles.
The first World Championships was hosted in Malmo Sweden in 1977, and the Championship was held every three years until 1983, after which, it became a biennial event until 2003. Since 2005 however, the BWF World Championships has become an annual tournament.

Awesome and gritty performance by the underdogs Matsumoto and Nagahara in winning by the narrowest of margins against the favorites Hirota and Fukushima. Fantastic that Japan can produce so many good women's doubles players.

Yuki Hirota mengalami dua kekalahan sekaligus dari Wakana Nagahara dalam satu pertandingan.
Pertama: kalah di Final Kejuaraan Dunia untuk kedua kalinya. Kedua: tidak ikut bertanding di World Tour Final di Guangzhou karena tempatnya harus diberikan kepada Wakana Nagahara, walaupun Yuki Hirota finish di peringkat kedua pengumpulan poin.
Imran Malik agak kurang fair sih ya dgn batasan kuota 2 pair per negara.
Dan jangan lupa di swis open mereka juga kalah dari Mayu Wakana
@@bayur4688 setuju. turnamen ini walaupun menyediakan hadiah terbanyak tapi jadi kurang bergengsi karena sifatnya invitational. Tidak semua bisa ikut.

Would u believe it! They came down up from 13-18. In the last 2 rallies, they stayed defensive. This is crtnly the most tighest match I've ever seen. This is what hppns if u train together. On the upside, we r in a tr8 if same nations participate as we can tight long rally matches!

Dan Matsumoto/Nagahara telah berhasil mengalahkan karena kesabaran + keuletan mereka dalam bertahan sekaligus mencari celah untuk menyerang ataupun menunggu Fukushima/Hirota membuat kesalahan (membuat bola keluar).
