      @LouHendrix awesome testimonial! What state are you in !? Did you land SDR or AE role!? I’m trying to negotiate to get a high base/OTE when I apply so want to manage my expectations!

      @@raven.fugateI’m in NY. I didn’t need to negotiate, this was their offer. I’ve noticed some of best logos typically have higher starting/OTE, but you may have some leverage to negotiate at some of the smaller startups. My general advice is to try to worry less on the pay, and more so on the actual organization you’re going to land at. I’d rather be making 55/75k at a great org than struggling at a startup and making more

    I’m currently a freshman in college, in computer science. Right now, I honestly just want to start to get in sales. I feel like I’m wasting time. I can work days and nights no problem, and I know I will be successful. I have no experience but I have connections to someone at a Lexus dealership who can get me started selling. Can I transition from car sales to tech sales? Also I’m learning python on the side

      Yes you can but I would recommend selling cars while still pursuing the CS degree if you can balance both, you would be a great candidate at that point upon graduation

    How do you know when applying if the sdr or bdr position is specifically tech sales and not insurance or a different kind of sale?

    After completing your sdr course how would you go about linking up with companies to talk to them about an entry position..?

      @@techsales-higherlevels yeah, most definitely… I’ve been doing research like crazy over these past couple months and seems like for the most part tech sales is a great way to get the foot in the door.

    im in car sales looking to transition into tech sales, with tech sales you can have a 100k salary + commission?

    • @techsales-higherlevels
      @techsales-higherlevels  3 месяца назад

      Entry level you can get 100k total compensation, usually half is salary, the other half is commission (simple example, 50k base, 50k commission).
      As you get into the career around 3-5 years the total comp can approach 220k-350k with a 50/50 split
