I recently joined a company that was founded back in 2012 and is a data integration company. A rep told me the commercial space is where you crush quota and make consistent money as an ae when compared to enterprise. Do you guys see a theme across companies where yes enterprise has the chance for big deals, but commercial is where you make a more consistent income?

I think sales ability has much more to do with EQ than IQ. You could be a high IQ killer in sales if you know how to master your own emotions and be able to interpret the emotions of others.

What are your thoughts on Rippling? I’m in the interview process and all the reviews I’ve seen have been trashing the company. I understand they may be coming from upset employees who couldn’t perform, but I am seeing a trend that it’s not an ideal work environment.
@ostenskarr6197 we've had several students break in there and they have high starting salaries compared to most places. It's a very fast growing company with a lot of upside and I think there's a lot of people making great money. I don't know about the culture outside of our students who have all done well, I'd definitely encourage you to reach out to current and former reps about it as well. It might be competitive, but that can be a great opportunity for the right kind of person and also comes with the territory of being one of the hottest startups in the world. What is your sense so far based on your interactions with them?
We've had lots of students land at Rippling and the overwhelming feedback is that things are great and that they're thriving. Absolutely not a bad place to start your tech sales career.

Aspiring SDR looking to transition from a Marketing Agency in the next 2 years with 0 sales experience! I tested the waters earlier last year and secured interviews at 2 leading FinTech's which shows me I have the right approach and formula. Hopeful for what the future holds when I go all in on my job hunt later in the future!

The Jobs are there but too many people have the 2021-2022 expectations that the job is just going to be autopilot where positions are plenty, WFH is a given (not anymore for SDR's), and deals are easy to come by without persistent sales skills (not in a high interest rate environment).
Definitely what tech sales normally was, 2021-2022 was an exception. That being said, there is still tons of opportunity, and when I contrast it to my engineering career I would absolutely still start in tech sales today.
I'm at my 1 year mark as an sdr. I got turned down for the smb position supposedly territory was not good and they need someone seasoned for this role. Should I ride it out until Q1 or Q2 or try to apply for an AE role elsewhere? I make 72.5 OTE right now under 50k salary.
@@dragonboy87ify hard to know exactly with limited information. What was the feedback with regards to your performance in interviews and also when future openings will be available?
@@techsales-higherlevelsit was that I was very prepared and built a good internal brand now they just want me to work on shadowing deals past the discovery call. The manager also informed me that the territory was shitty and I would be set up to fail. He expects a new role to open up less than 6 months from now
We are a market leader in cybersecurity I followed your last couple videos and didn’t want to jump. My SDR manager thinks although I didn’t get it. Im positioned higher then the others now

Absolutely. The BRBC has made that relationship mandatory for Realtors, and an unforseen benefit has been the elevation of Realtors as touring with an agent now requires client commitment. At the same time, it really encourages agents to do a good job
Currently an Account Executive for a Compliance Testing Facility for IoT Devices. The pay is okay. 70k plus Commission but it is only paid every quarter which is 3months. What are your recommendations ? should i find another Job that pays better or stick with it
Hard to say with the information here, but there are definitely higher paying jobs out there. How much commission are you making annually?

Pro audio guy here: I love the set up and thank you for the conversation. It was helpful. I am sharing this with you because it is my area of expertise and I think it would help… My only suggestion is with the room reverb, For even better audio I’d recommend some room treatment to help with the echoes. I also recommend you pull those microphones closer. The SM7b is a low output microphone designed to be much closer than that, the distance you have them it’d be better to use two shotgun mics. I understand why they are far away. I don’t like having them right in my face either. The audio signal itself sounded good, the trouble is at that distance you have to crank the gain so much you’re going to pull up the echoes along with it. If it is closer, you could probably drop the signal by 10 or 15 DB, which would mean the echo would be 10 to 15 DB lower. In post production, I would also recommend waves clarity VX pro plug-in for removing most of the rest of the echoes. Thanks again for the great video!

I dont think you mentioned this but tech sales are traveling way more than a sales engineers no? Thats something to factor in, especially for those with families, traveling all the time is taxing on all fronts.
Depends on the company but generally yes, I travel about 50% currently

Working at Data Halls for two big companies has made me hungry for technology and what jobs surround such a diverse and lucrative industries. I’ve been privileged to be in both instal and decom for these companies but it offers little to no advancement. Hoping to find my true north.

Do you have insight on finding companies to apply for? Utilizing your content but having trouble finding open jobs I am genuinely interested in.
LinkedIn typically has the most consistent. Filter for jobs that fit your criteria and then set an alert for open jobs.
Not so much a cold calling technique but I find that positioning lower level employees as champions and focusing on their growth and advancement can help with meeting booking. Works well if targeting a persona that maybe doesn’t have budget authority but has strong internal influence to get you meetings with key stakeholders.
