I love that your builds are based around thematic/lore rather than just optimised!! Flavour is very important to me personally when it comes to D&D, rather than min-maxxing. It's how I get immersed in the world and story. I can see how the RUclips analytics might discourage you, but you've got your own niche and I appreciate that you don't default to clickbaity thumbnails. I would love to see some 5e builds in the future. I'm currently playing multiplayer BG3 with my friend. My character is a Cleric of Mystra, Knowledge Domain. I plan to multiclass 2 levels into Divination Wizard and learn from scrolls. It's tricky when splitting the spellcasting stats, need decent con for saves, dex for AC, and even cha for dialogues!! but with headband of intellect, Knowledge Cleric skill buffs, and a dream, I'm making it work and really enjoying the character fantasy. This Lathander build is really well thought out and has very cohesive flavour. It would fit right in with act ii for sure.
I appreciate all of the work you put into these builds, and I hope working on different content helps shake it up for you! That said, I had a ridiculous idea this morning as a challenge for myself: a Fibonacci build, taking only small dips each class. I thought 1 War Cleric, 1 Monk or Barb, 2 Warlock, 3 Thief, 5 Paladin or Fighter when I was brainstorming this morning. In any case, cheers, and thanks for all of the builds!
Yessss, I've been waiting for this deity most of all! I absolutely love your work man, keep it up! Edit: Okay, maybe don't keep it up. Burnout isn't fun, and we'd all hate to see you suffer through that. D&D content sounds fun, looking forward to it.
I had a light cleric hunter ranger build brewing for a while, but could never figure out how to pull it off. This is a great stepping stone for my build. Mine is more dex orientated and used a bow and dual weapons, but its very similar to this. Now i know that cleric ranger can work.
Very interesting, started a MP playthrough with my friends (their first BG3 experience, I'm 500 hours deep) and decided to go War Cleric 6 (Lathander Deity) and 6 Paladin Oath of Vengeance. Thought it'd be very thematic to combine the two and make myself a true radiant fighter with both Spirit Guardians/Turn Undead aligned with the ability to smite the big threats of Undead to smitherens. This also gave me the opportunity to act as a frontline support early game acting as more of a blesser/healer and later on to be more of a sweeper of the battlefield when being able to move around with my SG and then couple it with high level spell slot smites when needed.
I should not have watched this... now I need to play this... I already have a Elistraee Cleric run going I don't need a new goody 2 shoes play trough...
If you have any save at level 12 with access to a steel watcher. And you can keep that save as a reference point, grabbing a hireling when you need to get a different race, and displaying everything at that point in the game.
I have been having a lot of fun with the Sword Dancer, great build and all rounder. The Dawnbringer looks great aesthetically, especially as a Tiefling. My Paladin of Selune is as bland as it sounds, is a human
*"Note on the produce flame cantrip"* Though it should scale from your charisma when playing as an Asmodeus tiefling it instead still scales from your wisdom. Not sure why Larian hasn't fixed it yet but until then feel free to use it.

(note posting this before pressing play, just seeing that chest and gloves combo ... making a guess Light Cleric Spirit Guardians for the amazing Light Dot build. took me a while, had to cook dinner for the family 1st. I usually go with Paladin for it, but yeah, Ranger is good for stats. My personal build is str 20 dex 12 con 8 (con neck) int 8 wis 14 chr 14. I'm actually thinking doing it with monk, and getting the morning star companion (The Sacred Star), and duel welding with the Blood of Lathander. Also on this idea, Female Githyanki Monk/Cleric Selûne, and romance Sheart... it would be funny.
Hey Hobozone! I'd be happy to share ideas that I've thought through and maybe give back some ideas/builds that you can bounce off of too :D I try to keep it thematic and I love making stuff work that is seen as suboptimal or bad ^^
@@HoboZone I think I'll wait for Monday then, as I've written a comprehensive guide for one of my builds in a Word document and this won't fit in the comments^^
So funnily enough you once again made a build that's perfectly in line with that I'm currently playing.. except I went for Brass Dragonborn which fits the theme similarly to a Tiefling imo. I am a sucker for maxing out my main stat though so I'm thinking of getting ASI and War Caster and using strength potions (only to 20) as a sort of Witcher thing as I feel it fits a lot more than the hags hair or potion of everlasting vigor.
My favorite thing about light domain clerics is forgetting about the passive "radiant retort" some enemies have...and accidentally killing myself with radiance of dawn, lol. But nice build, ill probably put it on shadowheart because I just love high charisma PCs. I was considering trying to mix ranger into cleric or paladin for a run.
While watching this video I thought about the build suggestion you gave me for the badass and I came up with a good alteration drop paladin and 2 levels of storm sorcerer for open hand monk equip the gear that has lightning charges start with 17 Dexterity pushing it up to 20 with a feat and boon start with 16 strength and push it up to 18 with the potion of everlasting vigour and use the other feat as taken brawler
Looking forward to future deity builds idea for an Oberon build 10 in fea warlock pact of blade two in abjeration wizard with any elf race to combine glyph of wording sleep
I think replacing ranger with Eldritch Knight fighter would be a massive boon to this build. A: starting as fighter gives proficiency in CON saves including concentration. B: with 6 cleric/6 fighter you can have 3 feats so War Caster becomes an option if you're still getting con broken, C: with Eldritch Knight you will never drop your weapon, the linchpin of the build. The only downside is all the EK's spells are INT based so you're better off grabbing utility spells like enhanced leap and longstrider and spells that can't miss/fail like Magic Missile.
There is a really awesome crossbow in act 1 you can get that has the turn dead ability on hit and it trigger your destroy undead ability thay does radiant damage when turning undead procs so with arrow of multi hit you can clear out mobs of enemies in most of act 2 its really cool
I would love to see a necrotic damage spell sword type build but steering away from the usual necromancer summoner build and I think they might worship illmater
@@HoboZone I haven't really looked into druid much but that sounds pretty cool, I also think the life steal sword at the last light inn would be pretty on theme with probably caustic band at the myconoid colony, and something that boosts poison, acid and necrotic damage, because I was thinking the classes chosen would be school of necromancy wizard, warlock either great old one or fiend, then cleric. (I haven't looked at cleric much)
I was thinking they would play similar to an assassin rogue as to put the dead to rest before they have time to feel the pain. What I imagine the character as someone whose intention is to save the undead from their purgatory state and let them pass on peacefully. Ill look into more items and comment a draft list. (P.s love your content its always thoroughly thought out and fun pls keep it up)
pretty sure the only reason the blood is a mace is bc morningstars are marital weapons and light clerics don't get martial weapon proficiency. wouldn't it suck if you couldn't weild your god's signature weapon?
@@HoboZone don't get me wrong, it's super flavorful for it to look like a morningstar and tbh i wish they would have made it actually mechanically a morningstar and then just manually made it wieldable by lathander clerics. but tbh that probably would have been a coding nightmare so i get why they did what they did instead.
