This time it was solo bike ride and trek to Tikona Fort.
Tikona also known as Vitandgad is the dominant hill fort in Maval in western India. It is located near Kamshet around 60 km from Pune. The village nearest to the fort is called Tikona-Peth. The 3500 foot high hill is pyramidal in shape and the name Tikona means "triangular".
Tikona Fort is a dominant hill fortress of Konkan's Pawan Maval region. This is Maharashtra's popular one-day trekking spot.
The fort height is 3500 feet above sea level. The trek is an easy level ideal for beginners. For Pune Hikers, Kamshet is the nearest railway station, and For Mumbai Hikers, Lonavala is the nearest railway station.
