Ayo can I get coffee I'm guessing ur reading this cz comment was only 1m ago lol. Anyway can u try to interview dream and other Minecraft RUclipsrs
Reflecting on your Mr.Beast episode I feel like your title could be so much better
Another great one guys! Can we keep it going and please get episodes that are in the 2 hour longe or more range? Would love that :)
Where can I buy your merch
I actually started THIS channel to do what you are discussing at around 56:00 I would like to share my idea, outline, strategy, and curriculum to creating the "How to Create" material
One thing Jack Conte forgot to mention about Patreon that is a nice feature if you ever wanna take a break for a month or longer but don't wanna feel like you're taking people's money without posting anything new is stopping the billing cycle for the next month. Of course, you can explain yourself to your audience and see how they feel about it before and decide if it's necessary, but it's nice to know that a feature like that exists.
Yes, I do wish we could do half months because it's a lot to give up entire months income when you just needed two weeks off. But still nice to have and I understand why it would be hard to do half months off.
@@littleripper312 Do you have any experience in particular with patron? I'd be really interested in learning when you decided to use it.
Interestingly, The Consouls (they do VGM jazz) told their fans in December that they were taking a break from streaming (not a break from Patreon) for January, and mentioned that they were aware that some of their subscribers might take a break too if there wasn't any content for that month so that's why they were letting us know. It was surprising for me to hear that but then I realised that being on Patreon , TwitchTV and Discord etc the band is really connected with fans, many of whom are quite young (I'm not so young!). The flexibility of the monthly option works for both creators and subscribers it seems.
Isn't that what he is talking about at 22:59, taking time off and non-monthly fees?
@@littleripper312 Thoughtful guy.
It's really nice to know that the CEO of Patreon is actually a creator, I've been building my Patreon for two years and didn't even know that!
This might be the best interview you've ever done, and that's saying a lot.
Definitely one of the best!
I agree! This one got really deep and didn’t lose focus.
Yooo Brett, how has YT not given you a check mark yet 🤦♂️ your videos are amazing dude please keep them coming!
Dude this interview convinced me to believe in Patreon and consider using it as a creator. What other company has a CEO that pure? Incredible.
aye
Happy Monday everybody
No offense but who says happy Monday 🤣
Guys please do interview with CODY KO it's a kind request 😁

Happy belated happy diwali and new year to sameer and colin 🎉🎉👍🎉
Cant get enough of these interviews! nice work Samir and Colin!
Agree - this channel it just soo great, my channel has been really inspired by their content tbh. It's just crazy how they give such a deep insight into the creator economy. I really wonder how they make these simple podcasts so engaging, though, it's rare to see RUclipsrs keeping us watching for so long. Do you have any idea?
It takes a humble dude to ask for help when you know something isn't aligned with your passion, but needs to succeed. Inspiring story Jack and great storytelling Colin and Samir!
The canvas analogy was fresh to hear!
was beautiful!
50:00 Your welcome
Hey guys, been a quiet supporter & watcher of your channel for a while now. But these conversations are GOLD for us content creators. I appreciate you guys and these conversations/videos so much! The wisdom, love, and care you guys have for Creators is next level. Just want to say THANK YOU!
Hey it’s the great Nolan Molt don’t I know you from somewhere a little RUclips channel called THINK MEDIA or something like that ;) ;)
Well good to see you here and take care have a wonderful day evening or night.

I was hooked right from the beginning, the passion with which Jack speaks with just draws you in. I also loved the coffee video. Nice editing.

Your sponsorships are always so unique.
Agreed, i'm actually kinda interested in it. Usually sponsored product ads are just something i sit through to support the creator and every once in a blue moon i see one that actually catches my attention as a product i might buy. This coffee one is now the latest one where i might actually make a purchase. it looks like a cool futuristic K-Cup/instant coffee but higher quality.

I haven't been here since the beginning but I've watched every video of yours for probably 18 months and this one resonates with me personally more than most. Thanks for what you do
The optimism of this discussion is SO refreshing.

You’re doing so much for the creator community with these deep interviews! Thank you Colin & Samir!🙏🏾
I love this channel because there are no commercial interruptions and it feels like I’m in the room and these are questions and discussions I would
have. Thank you for this great content
This was the best conversation about creators I ever heard! Thank you a lot Colin and Samir! So mutch value in this conversation!
LETSGOOOO Pomplamoose was the first "creator" that I started following back in like 2011 and watching Jack's career develop has been so inspiring. Really needed something like this right now, thank you

The canvas metaphor is exactly how I think about my business career and how my team work. And then there is a creator side of me that has to follow the same framework. This is the cleanest expression of that mindset that I’ve heard in a while!
I remembered first seeing Jack on casey’s channel, then when I go to his channel, I was hooked! Glad he’s doing well! All in the name of helping creators 🔥

Guys im so glad to see you blowing up ! 400k!!!! I knew this was coming ...Excited for 1 Mill .. thanks for inspiring us to be better creators 🙌
I remember 5 or 6 years ago where even having a sponsor would have creators getting bad looks from their audience, god forbid they ask them for money. Then the adpocalypse happened. Now Patreon is not only encouraged, it’s many if not most cases, it’s essential for creators. Crazy how the online creator space has changed so much in less than 5 years

Jack Conte is one of the most important figures of our time! I’m surprised the title of this video doesn’t say “Patreon CEO”, I thought that would get people more interested?
Great video!

@@AlexsCreatorEconomy, I imagine it's due to their story telling process which they teach in their course. Structuring a story properly is, in my opinion, the key factor in whether your audience stays engaged.
this was a joy to listen to. great questions and great answers
This is the first time I’ve actually enjoyed watching a sponsorship it’s literally so good.

this was fantastic! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
I’m ready to pay for the Colin and Samir Patreon your content is amazing! You won me over with your interview skills, and the cherry on top was the way you end your videos and Shorts. I’m sold!!
What a gorgeous interview! I'm still listening to it now, but I feel the rawness and connection I feel with all of you as fellow artists. My struggle is in holding firm to that artistry rather than turning it into 'content' and sharing the art in its intimate state rather than just having it turned into IP the moment it's complete. This is my great life pondering. I'm 53. I still haven't worked that out yet, but this is going in the right direction. I thank you all.
Jack Conte just emits good and pure energy. Hope we continue to get more passionate creative first brand builders in the future just like him.
This is my first time seeing an interview with Jack, but I swear I have talked with him in person. He seems like such a sweet guy and I think we talked about creativity and finding what your creative talents can do in the world

Incredible interview - all 3 of you are next level
So i didn't know anything about Jack Conte before watching this. Maybe not monetarily or whatever, but morally, strategically, and intellectually i feel like Jack Conte is the CEO other tech/app/platform CEOs wish and think they are. Jack describing Patreon's big mistake from years ago is something no other big tech CEO would EVER do. They would deflect and not talk about something like that, and the fact that Jack answered that question, to the length he did, and with the honesty and really getting into WHY it was wrong. The self awareness when he was talking about his wealth too. Just wow, massive respect for this guy.
Amazing interview and amazing insights!! 🤯

@@AlexsCreatorEconomy Mine too! I do talk about them a lot. I think that it all comes from their experience, as they have had different channels and have been on the verge of quitting RUclips they must have gotten so much feedback on what they were doing wrong. Also with what they say about their team being very specific on what gets cut from the video and what stays, they have streamlined the way they edit the podcasts to get only the most engaging parts, I think that's why the other videos are around 15-20 minutes long, with this one being the exception because it has so much value for content creators.
You guys are killing it! Lovinggggggg the content
