I have a low SCI L1-l3 and was near to amputee my leg after a 20 meter fall. Derek's story was truly heartwarming and inspiring. I'm so glad that I found this channel!!!
Way to go! You are a warrior and a comrade in arms. I say this, because I also lost my right foot, due to diabetes in 2015. I worked in an archive. My colleagues and my boss stood behind me like a rock and I had one aim: back to work in the archive and my place of work would remain open for me. Even while rehabilitation was going on I returned to work. Not only that, I met many wonderful people: doctors, nurses and therapists. And my family stood behind me as well.
how amazing that he cope with his bad fall and he wants to go back to be paramedic after his leg cut off which it a very good goal I hope his dream come true and get back into the field I’m so happy that he can get back to paramedic it amazing progress has pay off
Falling from the roof while painting? So sad; he should have secured himself on this level!! A basic lesson one should have learned I would imagine. Life would have been simpler and less sadness plus regret; Returning to his carer's job is a challenge. He should be placed in Office work or A Management job. As a paramedic Officer, he was not fair to himself. His Boss should have toned him down to accept Office jobs as All jobs are important. Period
Im a st john tranie cadet first aider and i have really wierd damaged knees a special my right one and i am thinking about amputation but i just wanted to ask how hard is it to do first aid?

He doesn't even limp, his posture and gait hasn't changed, he must have an amazing Ankle joint in that limb cx
Could be a bit better. He should visit Hugh Herr and get one of his bionic legs.
I wonder if he ever returned the sun glasses?😎
