I was ten and at Six Flags, went down a chute on a tube and at one point the chute opened up to a small drop and for a brief few seconds you are in free fall before dropping back into the chute. For those few seconds there is no chute or walls, it's literally the kind of slide you'd see at a playground - only thirty feet up in the air! In my case my tube went flying away and I was ejected and only barely stayed in the chute. When the ride finally ended the guy at the bottom looked at me confused. "Where's your tube, little guy? Did you go down without one?" Motherfuckers. I still ride waterslides all the time but I'm a lot more careful in picking out which ones won't send me flying off the side halfway down the chute!

Doesn’t mean they’re false, but at least we know the death on Verruckt actually happened. It’s even worse considering it’s been proven since that there was literally no actual engineer that worked on Verruckt, just designers and park owners. It was made purely so Schlitterbahn could appear on Xtreme Waterparks on Travel Channel. And it was recent, vs Action Park being in the 70s-90s.
I only watched the video to see if Verruckt was number one. The decapitation was only the last injury on it too! They knew that certain rafts flew off at the second hill and instead of shutting the ride down they added the metal hoops where the raft would launch the riders. So not only did they not make the ride safer, they made it significantly more dangerous!
Oh okay. Thanks for telling me. Now I can ride slides at Great Wolf Lodge without panicking. My dad said that there was a shut down slide at Great Wolf Lodge in Kansas City. So when I went I was to scared to ride any of the big slides. But I still feel bad for the poor boy and his family. :(

ive gone down the kalahari one. twice. its constantly broken and the timer has never worked for me so i just drop whenever the waterslide feels like it. Im 11... also the one next to it (the green one) causes you to fly upwards slightly and you actually don't touch the slide for a majority of the ride. Also riders come off with completely red backs. Did I mention the lifeguard let my 6 year old brother launch 9 random strangers. Isn't that a safety hazard?

A slide at my water park got removed last summer. You basically go down a tube and then spin in like a toilet bowl thing.(IDK) I went down it and realized my neck kinda hurt. I never went down it again.
I went on a drop tube at that waterpark at universal studios. I think the place was called “Volcano Bay”, and I went on the green one, all the way on the top of the “volcano”! It was a year ago tho and I was super scared , so by the time I got to the inside of the tube when the people tell you to cross your arms and legs, I was so scared I thought I was gonna cry XD. How to solve the problem with getting stuck in enclosed water slides. Have 2 employees talking over on a radio. 1 of em is on top of the waterslide telling people when to go in, and the other down below confirming that the last person that came in has come out. Simple-as-that.
What you don't realize is, that this practice would cut steeply into profits. When people have to wait longer, they are less likely to come for an injury again!
there is a water park in darwin (australia) called lake leanyer, they had that one at top one on the bottom (they also told people at the bottom to quickly get out to not get hurt), it was also free had three slide, 1 was dark and had two people sit in a floatie thing and thre was a water park for kids as well as a little lake looking pool that wasn't very deep it's probably my favourite water park so far

I had a 350 lb co worker land on top of me at Action Park, I thought I was paralyzed, but came too in 30 seconds, lost feeling to my legs, that came back, they let someone 100 lbs over the weight limit on a ride. I don’t know how I walked out of there that day. RIP Rob Knewstub.
I went on most of the "dangerous" rides at Action Park as a child and even as adult when it was called Mountain Creek. Rides were originally built into the mountain and were extremely fun. I do remember the loop slide, never was in operation (i was 3yrs old in '85) and heard the stories of death and injuries.
Yeah, I live near that water slide and when it happened everyone was horrified. There was a pic floating around for a bit that was taken from high up and you could see blood pooling at the bottom of the slide.

I actually went on number 4 when I was a kid after Action Park reopened as Mountain Creek Waterpark. I very smartly in hindsight went on down the straighter slide and was fine, but my friend went on the other one. He said his neck got stretched the wrong way and I had to help him out of the pool. He was fine after a few minutes.

Gloria Hemam i sure dont want to go on these rides. When i was about 7 i almost flew off a log ride that had a steep drop. I held onto the handles on the sides for dear life as my butt was floating out of my seat. i still go on log rides anyway now that im older, but i do like to be cautious.

A slide at my water park got removed last summer. You basically go down a tube and then spin in like a toilet bowl thing.(IDK)

I went on a drop tube at that waterpark at universal studios. I think the place was called “Volcano Bay”, and I went on the green one, all the way on the top of the “volcano”! It was a year ago tho and I was super scared , so by the time I got to the inside of the tube when the people tell you to cross your arms and legs, I was so scared I thought I was gonna cry XD. I ended up not screaming at all like the other girls did, and it also was really fun. My favorite actually. Has anyone else gone on that slide? XDD

How to solve the problem with getting stuck in enclosed water slides. Have 2 employees talking over on a radio. 1 of em is on top of the waterslide telling people when to go in, and the other down below confirming that the last person that came in has come out. Simple-as-that.
What you don't realize is, that this practice would cut steeply into profits. When people have to wait longer, they are less likely to come for an injury again!
there is a water park in darwin (australia) called lake leanyer, they had that one at top one on the bottom (they also told people at the bottom to quickly get out to not get hurt), it was also free had three slide, 1 was dark and had two people sit in a floatie thing and thre was a water park for kids as well as a little lake looking pool that wasn't very deep it's probably my favourite water park so far

I had a 350 lb co worker land on top of me at Action Park, I thought I was paralyzed, but came too in 30 seconds, lost feeling to my legs, that came back, they let someone 100 lbs over the weight limit on a ride. I don’t know how I walked out of there that day. RIP Rob Knewstub.

I went on most of the "dangerous" rides at Action Park as a child and even as adult when it was called Mountain Creek. Rides were originally built into the mountain and were extremely fun. I do remember the loop slide, never was in operation (i was 3yrs old in '85) and heard the stories of death and injuries.

I actually went on number 4 when I was a kid after Action Park reopened as Mountain Creek Waterpark. I very smartly in hindsight went on down the straighter slide and was fine, but my friend went on the other one. He said his neck got stretched the wrong way and I had to help him out of the pool. He was fine after a few minutes.
