Replacing and testing a factory replacement subwoofer in my 2005 Jeep TJ. After a month of listening to music with this new sub I am very pleased. With the top down it sounds good, doors off sounds good, pretty much all situations sound good. Waaayyyy too expensive in my opinion but unfortunately not to many substitutes are available..

just did the same thing 3 days ago..yes expensive, but worth having something that sounds better than a giant transistor..lol..thanks for the video..take care
Did the same for my '05. Except I went with a JL 12W0v3. Wouldn't fit in the console so I just threw it box on the backseat and buckled it up. Its working so far.
i have a 2003 wrangler. it doesn't have a speaker in the conceal and wondered how to put one in there . there is no wireing or anything . good job you did with yours .

Most receivers have a reverse on the sub setting, even the cheap ones now days...easy phase correction
Thanks. I have an older model alpine, not sure if it has that feature. This is always a sure-fire test for me though.

Do all jeep tj's come with the center console speaker? (I have a 2004 wrangler X)
Im not sure if every model has them but you would know if your jeep has one if your center console has a grille facing the driver side.
C Trybus I have the grill on the side but it’s all solid behind it
If it is solid plastic then Im leaning towards no, you may not have one in there. The original sub in my my jeep had a solid felt cover over it to protect the speaker from dirt and grime. i removed that cover along with the blown out sub. I did not replace this cover when i put the new sub in. Its actually pretty easy to take the console apart and actually look to see whats under there.

Hi your after market radio has 4 channel how did you connect the 5th console speaker any special wire to connect behind the radio and did you buy the jeep harness kit?
Im pretty sure the sub runs off of a cross-over built into the box it sits in. I dont have any specific control over the sub from the head unit other than to adjust the bass and treb of all speakers. That said, when i adjust the bass and treb i do not notice the sub giving off any mid or high frequencies at all. The sound of everything together is nice. (Note: i did upgrade to Kicker 5.5" in the pods) As for the harness, I purchased a standard 97-06 jeep wrangler wiring harness kit (i think from best buy)- fit perfectly, works just fine.
Was it worth the purchase cause mines dead, I suppose it is.. being that it's just open space now..
If you enjoy music it is definitely worth it. The sound is so much better. A bit expensive for what you get in my opinion but there aren't many other options available.
Can you tell me the specs of this subwoofer? I replaced my head unit and I can't even here the sub anymore so I want to get a small amp to run the sub but don't know how many watts it is
