will this work on a single cylinder Kohler CH16S engine? The service manual for my motor calls the black box a "Spark advance Module".... thanks for the help!!!

Its called that on the Kohler pro cv16s engine too a spark advance module i don't have the books

When the mdi fails do you still get spark? I am getting gas and spark engine tries to start but it seems like timing is off

Instead of the kit, why not just get the old school coils, and make your own pig tails and ground at the key? I think i may try it instead of getting the kit just for fun. Can’t see what the difference is in the kit.

All of that wont fit or work on the smaller single engines I've tried it out from a friend with a Kohler 25 model engine those parts were to big for the cv16s engine coil body was to big and wouldn't fit in place

Magnetic Discharge Ignition.

Magneto Discharge Ignition. That ignition he’s showing you is a DSAI ignition system. That box is called a D Sam module

My stuff didn't work out how I thought it would so i need to do more studying on the command model. I know the coil has a lot to do with my problem but its manly the spark advance module giving it the problem mower ran fine with the new coil but continued to overheat and shut off
All that stuff of yours does work on most ch models and twins but wont on single cv models I've tried it out
Mine would work with a little bit bigger coil put on then wouldn't need the spark advance module it all with that but like i said I've tried that out and the coil wouldn't fit in place because the body of it was to big I'll find one though it just takes me a few months.
All that you showed works on the twins and ch models
Doesn't work on any single cv models because the body of the coil is to big for Kohlers cv models it'll work on the models you said 25 27 I call those twins

The single is converted with a 14 hp coil. nothing new been done by me and thousands of others for years.
