Also, Sugarshack Mines is getting a complete redo and overhaul currently in the works, as it was evidently the weakest level in the demo. well I think all the level will need a bit of changing because I tried to " fake p rank"(all p rank requirements minus lap 2) them and only entryway was possible if I used a super taunt at the right moment
It is so, so cool to see a fan project like this actually going somewhere and getting the traction it deserves. So many fangames are planned and are never seen through to completion due to being overly ambitious or simply never getting the love they need to come out right. This, though, seems like a project that has a lot of passion and genuine skill behind it, and I'm beyond hyped to see it's final form.

I really hope the people on the team with more authority than me can consider making you a playtester A few things I wanted to note: -a lot of aspects of sugary spire's demo are very outdated now as the demo was made quite a bit before pizza tower even released -Demo 2 isn't going to happen, the next public release is the full game -The controls have gotten heavily tweaked since the demos release and hopefully it will be just as fun as pizza tower to play -sugarshack mines is STILL getting redone we have a lot of reworking to do to make it fun Overall a very good review, I loved how well thought out everything here was and I'm glad you enjoyed the demo (even though it's super outdated atp)

Great video! I loved how the review covered each level personally. While the demo is really outdated nowdays, and some of the things mentioned in the videos are quite accurate with what we are going for in the future. Excited to see your opinion on the finished game!
I think this video was absolutely fantastic and you did some justice to this delightfully delicious game! I'm personally really excited to see how the full release turns out as it has some serious potential to reach the highs of Pizza Tower! I absolutely adore Pizzelle btw as she's just so adorable (plus her being transfem just makes me super happy since I'm transfem myself)!

Very nice video! I heard of sugary spire before, but never played it or saw any gameplay, this video was my introduction to it and i think i should try it out now Also, i think the 13:35 move was inspired by the king of card's roll, in that game, if you try shoulder bashing while already shoulder bashing you would do a roll that destroys blocks and enemies without knocking you back.
If you're having problems with controls, remember that Joy-cons(Nintendo switch controllers) buttons are mapped to actual key board keys so you can use them with ANY game!(as long as you have steam for some reason)I hope this bit of info helps you!(you can thank me later)
Wondering how Bloodsauce Dungeon and Sugarshack Mines are similar, yet opposites? Think of fantasy tropes! Dungeons? Mines with dwarves? A pretty simple idea to just change it to a different fantasy trope, but that REALLY turns the concept of Bloodsauce on its head!
Finally got around to playing it today and it's pretty fun! The dash slide momentum thing and lack of starting wallclimbs with a grab are actually issues taken from Pizza Tower's demos, but the limited wall climb seems to be new. The dash jump tumble serves a very similar purpose to the dash slide trick in PT, guess both games wanted an easier way to get speed quickly and took different approaches to it. Based on footage of the leaked build, pretty sure they've already changed Pizzelle's moveset to better match the full version of PT. Can't wait for the official release! Oh also, on the topic of the leaks and your hope for more horror, you're gonna LOVE the game's War equivalent
I think they should keep Pizzele's moveset as Peppino's 2022 one, with awful sliding, freezing when grab-breaking a block, and no superjump direction changes. Sets her apart from Peps.
how have I only now realised that you play as the Noise fighting Peppino. (or replicas or Alternate reality versions or something) someone smack me over the head with a hammer, maybe that will fix my stupid. I even already knew that the Noise preferred candy and sweets over pizza.

I completely agree with you on how platformers control worse on keyboards. Personally, I can't do platformers with a run button on keyboards so controller support is necessary for me.
About the recording issue, I face the same thing. Easy fix tho, go to settings first. Change from fullscreen to window mode to fullscreen. Should fix it as long as you stay on the screen.
Pizelle is a fan reinterpretation of a joke reinterpretation of a 90s pizza chain mascot who himself has been ressurected after decades of being absent I just thought that was neat
I would willingly play through the entirety of Pizza Tower again (just did last night and probably will again today) and send you footage somehow, but unfortunately I have absolutely no space on my computer to record with (and again don't know how I would go about sending you the footage if I even could record) Also I agree that Pizzelle has worse controls than Peppino for the most part, but I LOVE that thing where if you grab an enemy while sprinting, you'll keep spinning with said enemy until you throw them. It's so fun to me, and I know they're changing most of the moveset, but I REALLY hope they don't remove that.

The lore you got is incredibly outdated. Pizzele is now transfem and uses any pronounces, and peppino counterpart is called Pizzano (old name sounded too much like a fat joke). Right now, there isn't much to story itself, I'd say

The cherry bombs are actually called the "CharCherries", the bananers are actually called " Banana Knights", you were very close with the cotton wizards, but they're actually WITCHES, not wizards. The Daryls are actually called "Sluggies", and the Finnish fish are actually called the " Swedish Fish". Also, the train in sugarshack mines is called "the Applejim express"!

Sugary Spire started development roughly half way through Pizza Tower's. PT had started around 2018, while SS started in 2020. The reason SS is listed as being released in 2022 is because the Demo is the only version we currently have of it. Once it's completed, it'll be considered as being released in whatever year that'll be. (My best bet being possibly 2025 or 26?)
