    The Architect Of Sound: Yes, it is a sage investment on a product that has been around probably; since, I would say around 1972. There is nomenclature about the mixer that has not been amended all that much in 50 years; so that, it very much intuitive. The pre-amps are very solid and this will last many, many years. Keep up the good work and enjoy your sound quality.

    I actually have that mixer & do the same with my DDJ 1000. It’s always better to use an external mixer simply because it pushes more sound plus all its capabilities. I purchased 2 actually one to take with me every weekend cuz I’m a mobile Dj & one for my home set up for podcasting. Great purchase & great vid bro. Now clean that garage lol

    Use the 1/4" over the RCA. 1/4" in balanced and less susceptible to outside interference. There is a reason professional controllers (and other sound output) all use 1/4" and XLR - RCA are a good backup.

    • @abesickerz
      @abesickerz 4 года назад +1

      this was my question. so RCA out the controller to 1/4 to the mixer correct? what about auxilary for phone or ipad? would i need two 1/4" or one 1/4" to connect to phone? i guess it has to do with stereo and mono. sorry im new to mixers, just got a Behringer xenyx 802 and trying to learn lol thanks!

    • @bboymac84
      @bboymac84 2 года назад +2

      @@abesickerz Its more about distance and Interference. The further away you are from the speaker the more likely you are vulnerable to outside interference. get good wires and you will be fine with RCA's

    The main purpose for an additional mixer is more headroom for audio. The controller has a limiter and will peak fast depending on your setup whether it’s with just powered tops or coupled with subs. The mixer will allow more volume and has a greater preamp for microphones. The mic preamp on most controllers are dog shit. The mixer is useful for better sound quality overall. The SR2 can get really harsh esp if your pushing it past 12 o clock master. I used to have the SR2 now i have the SRT. Much better sound quality imo.

    Thanks Brother. I'm a new mobile Dj and have now gotten to the point where I'm looking at getting a line mixer as up until now, I've been connecting directly to my speakers from my controller. I admit I had been been intimidated by the mixers all together. After watching several videos, I'm convinced of the value this would bring to my setup and now zeroing in on what particular mixer I will purchase. Showing how you connect everything was really helpful and I thank you much.

    You'd be better off using ¼" TRS cables than RCAs.
    2 reasons.
    1 RCA cable is unbalanced, not really an issue for short runs, but there is a slim possibility you could pick up interference, hums etc.
    2 RCA output is 14db quieter than balanced line level out (XLR or ¼" TRS). I use 2 XLR to ¼ TRS leads from my controller to my MG10XU (into 7/8 with a phone connected to 5/6. I leave 9/10 free for if I want to use the USB input). Send a 0db signal from the controller to the mixer & the same from the mixer to your speakers. Try it, you'll notice a difference. Apart from sounding nicer, you'll find you don't have to thrash the mixer or your speakers so much

    Just noticed you're using unbalanced ¼" TS leads between the mixer & the speaker. They will pick up interference at distances over 10' Replace them with balanced XLR leads as well as ditching the RCAs for balanced ¼" TRS as I previously mentioned.
    The idea of adding a mixer into the chain is sound, but you are using the worst possible cable combination.
    Colour coding your ¼" TRS red & blue (either the actual cable, or the boot on the connector) will help you keep left & right channels identified (red is always right).

      Always turn your speakers / PA system off first, before anything else. Then you can unplug / turn off / disconnect anything you like and it doesn't matter. Likewise at the beginning of the setup - connect everything up and power on first, THEN turn your soundsystem / PA on LAST.
      If you're working in a venue where you're not in control of the PA system, be sure to check they have turned you down or powered down front of house before you disconnect anything.

    What happens when you plug your mixers USB straight to your laptop?

      I have exactly the same set up, including the same dj controller case. When you plug in your mixer to your computer via usb, you have a dedicated channel on your mixxer that controls your over all sounds of your computer. This comes more in handy when you use the mixer to mix digitally on different applications, such as garage band and such. Its basically an external sound card. I used it a lot to record podcast. This mixer is very nice and it enhances your outputs.

    Yo Barney!! Thank you Brother for this So Helpful 😉 So Here's my issue. I hooked up Everything just like You said But I only get sound from Controller to My Speakers . I tried adding the Small 6 Channel Beheringer Mixer as You said, it Played from my Phone for 10 Seconds, then No Sound. What's that sound like to You? Baad Cable, Can a Mixer go bad? However I can Run Microphones through the Mixer, But No music Sound. I Have Dual RCA running from My Mixer to My Controller Maybe its that. I don't know Bro Any Suggestions.
    Thanks Again 😊 Also, I have A beginners Party Controller , it has no Mic Jacks. I say that because You Pulled A Quarter inch From Your Controller. My Controller has No Quarter inch Sockets
