Man... The final shot of the Traveler lining up with the Destiny 1 key art... so many chills...
wow, I hadn't noticed that it was the key art of destiny 1.
Bungie has been hinting that moment for nearly 10 years…I think
The director deserves a raise
And if you listen closely you can hear ever so faintly the signature bell jingles of Destiny 1.
Salvatori giving one last little nod to our old pal Marty before our end comes.
This raised the stakes more than the Lightfall Expansion lmao
"Where is the great machine? Where is the great machine?!" -Chelchis, Kell of Stone during the Whirlwind
The Witness in the reflection on the terminal is so freaky looking, good god.
I thought its eyes gave too much of a stare, which made it less creepy to me, but each person fears differently I suppose. Maybe just the slight scleras around its eyes shouldn't exist imo.
Y'now...after this...
Thinking back to what Savathun tried to do for the Traveler hits different. As the Witness said, that really was its last piece to place, its last chance.
From this point onward, there will be no coming back.
For Red.
Man that initial horn really put in to perspective how surreal the event the community just witnessed was. That blaring horn then the sudden swell of the traveler’s angelic chorus that, (don’t quote me on this as I started playing this game during season of the chosen), hasn’t been heard since the traveler struck down ghaul at the end of the red war is just breathtaking.
One thing i love about Destiny is its musical continuity. How it takes motifs from other releases and keeps them in. We still hear the House Salvation motif when we see Eramis, the Warmind motif when we see Ana and Rasputin, they do that and mix it with other motifs and themes like we saw in Ketchcrash and Spire of the Watcher
As someone who obsesses over music in media, I really appreciate the fact that you can identify everything that’s happening throughout the universe solely by hearing the tracks.
This cutscene truly is a masterpiece, with or without dialogue.
That close up of Rasputins face at 2:19 bring me to tears every damn time
A robot that cannot make facial expressions but you can tell the way he turned and looked at her.
The typical female vocals from the Bungie orchestra and the traveler lining up the same way as it did in destiny 1's original picture almost made me shed a tear
If theres one thing that need to be praised is bungies's sountrack(halo/destiny) they always nail the right tone for it, 2:27 is my favorite part here
Do you know what this part is called?
@@_The_Seeker_ what do you mean with that?
@@_The_Seeker_ it’s basically Distant Sky from the Lightfall soundtrack
2:27 hits like a truck
Without brakes. At about 100 miles per hour
"The skies belong to me pilot. Nowhere to run, nowhere to hide"
-Viper (Pre-Golden Age Pilot)
Wrong universe
@@kagegrigsby5074 cmon man let me have the funny quote
the music when we see the traveler protecting earth is so good 🔥🔥🔥
the destiny 1 art made me remember all my journeys with the franchise in a moment 😔
This actually goes so hard without dialogue
You know this cinematica is probably the closest thing we're going to get to actually see the bottom of the traveler like yeah we always see it but we always see the side of it never truly the bottom and I wonder will gives us a glimpse into what looks like on the inside but even truly looking at the bottom it's still concealed which is disappointing but hey that's all the reason more to look what's inside of it!
I noticed this too! Though I think we did get a better glimpse inside during the Red War - Season 11 era
2:27 rest in peace warmind
Honestly this cutscene was better then lightfalls entire campaign
Legit. Was thinking the exact same thing. Kinda makes sense thou since its marketing for Lightfall basically and the marketing aspect of Destiny has always been top notch.
Facts.
the entire team went the extra length on this one for sure. The facial expression of anna is too much for an animated scene. It hits hard.
I like to think of this moment as the traveler saying it needs a bit of space from the city or is slowly leaving as humanity adapts without it
pinnacle of d2 storytelling
Gosh this almost made me cry watching it. Everything about this cutscene is so good, but the music is just haunting ang gives me chills
1:51 That Synth😩
The audio of this cutscene is so special
I find it crazy how we knew about this since d1.
When I saw this video this morning I almost cried in seeing its departure. Goose flesh and fear.. Rasputin .. My heart is broken !
Wish there was a version without the background noise, that soundtrack is gutwrenching
Yes I was waiting for this!
Eramis: Why won't it run?!
Bungo: Because there will be no Destiny 3.
Watching this cinematic almost gave me an ugly cry
Thank you so much
It’s funny… I feel like Eramis finally earned her place in Destiny with this scene.
I think this cutscene is really good without dialogue, I'd say even better to be honest...
Has this motif been used anywhere before? It sounds super familiar but I can't put my finger on what it's from
Sounds reminiscent of The Tribulation track from Music of the Spheres
@@thevoid3062 yes especially the ending dissonance
SCHNELL BUILDING REVIVAL
SEASON OF THE SCOURGE-OF-THE-PAST?????
So I guess savathun was trying to do the right thing after all?
Pretty sure that was just wordplay.
I need this song name now
3:27 Destiny 1
Will you do the music that plays in the mission during Eramis' fight? It's a choral version of "Fallen Empire", that I'm pretty sure is unique to that encounter.

Just the opera part please
My favorite part of this cutscene is when the Traveler said "It's travelin' time." then travelled everwhere.
the start of the vocals from when Eramis turns the key, do we know what OST is that? I've tried to look for it everywhere.
It's from the new Tower track I titled Final Dawn. Vocals are hard to hear in that version once the brass kicks in but it's there.
anyone know the motif at 0:16? I recognize it from somewhere else in the soundtrack but I am drawing a blank on what song it comes from
Does anybody know what track plays during bossfight with Eramis on Seraph Statkom? It was sick!

@@destiny_music_archive Thanks!
Where can i find the version of distant sky used in the second half of this. Please I'm begging you it's so good
Unfortunately this is the best version of that you can get. It was never used outside this cutscene and there's no way to remove the SFX.
@@destiny_music_archive truly a tragedy
So I'm confused, was the traveler trying to leave and realized at the last second it couldn't leave, or was the traveler moving in place to do something else. It just seems weird it stopped just above earth
Who knows? Could have went to leave but something changed its mind. Witness could have actually been telling the truth and it doesn't have anywhere to go. Either way, if it intends to make a fighting stand at all, this isn't a bad position. Back to a solid surface, but has enough room to maneuver. Admittedly, I'm not sure combat between two paracausal forces involves much maneuvering at all...
I don't think we can really place any definite words on what and why the Traveller is doing what is does. We never have been. We might never know.
Maybe it was trying to leave and changed its mind. Maybe it wasn’t leaving at all and just changing its position for a better defense against the darkness. Or maybe it Recognized Rasputin’s sacrifice and stayed put
We don’t know. And I would say we should continue to assume nothing until the Traveler acts definitively- which it hasn’t done for the whole of Destiny.
The vocals give me Warframe vibes
She was trying to help us this whole time she was trying to keep the traveler away from the witness that's why she kept it in her throne room she was trying to help
The music that plays when rasputin sacrifices himself is so good
