A great piece of reporting by Mr. Brokaw amid very difficult circumstances. I was a huge fan of Mr. Russert and how he was equally tough on guests from both parties. The interview he did on Rush Limbaugh's show about his book on his Father many years back was priceless.

The fact that a decent human being like Russert is suddenly gone while O'Reilly and Coulter continue to breathe hardly seems fair. You were an inspiration, Tim. You will be missed.
I was 13 years old at the time but fully committed to the presidential race, and I had really grown to like his reporting and great predictions. It was very sad and even at 13 years old I made a tribute to him because I was completely shocked. It was a very happy day when Obama was elected president, but I couldn't help but think of the joy Tim Russert would have had if he would have seen it.
Tim was an honest reporter in the "hyped" up world of reporting. So many of today's reporters are more in tune with the character in Will Ferrell's movie "Anchorman" than they are with real reporting. Tim did not care about the fluff and only went after the substance. Don Henley, in the song "Dirty Laundry", said it best when he sang, "The bubble headed bleach blonde who comes on at five, she can tell you about the plane crash with a gleam in her eye". That's reporting today. That wasn't Tim.
Tim Russert was a spectacular human being...a good father, son, husband, a mentor to others, a person caring about his community, an encourager, someone with a zest and passion for life and for everything he did. For anyone to post anything negative about him is disrespectful. Check yourself. This man deserves respect and his family heartfelt regards.

Russert always appeared impartial and fair in his work, but most important, he was always polite. What a shame. This news is truly shocking.
If anyone can dig up footage from Conan O'Brien's Late Night that evening, I would greatly appreciate it. From what I've read, he simply walked onto the stage without any music or intro, informed the audience that he had just learned of Russert's passing, then played several clips from Russert's appearances on Late Night.
A life well lived. Rest in peace, Tim!
We need Tim Russert right now
Me too. I can never forget now because he died on the day I went to my first jury duty. Sad that's how I can remember it.
Man...I didn't know. He was one of the few I like to hear from, and who made much sense.
My heart goes out to his family. I know he would have loved to report this year's election.
Sad. God Bless
I remember Rush Limbaugh's reaction- jealous of the fact that when he passes away, he'll never get the accolades that Russert did.
The fact that a decent human being like Russert is suddenly gone while O'Reilly and Coulter continue to breathe hardly seems fair. You were an inspiration, Tim. You will be missed.
Tom Brokaw was hands down, the only man QUALIFIED to make this announcement and NBC knew it.
I was sitting in Applebees when I found out about Tim Russert died. He was the empitomy of fair and balanced reporting.
I've never seen Tom Brokaw that upset. I nearly cried myself.
