    I would agree with onelonelyfarmer on the track machine. As far as John Deere itself I am the public works director for the town of green mountain falls, Colorado. We own a 2012 323d John Deere skid steer for the last couple years and have no complaints. We use it for everything from snow removal to working on our 6 plus miles of gravel roads. Great machine, can't go wrong with either machine tracks or rubber tire.

    I have a set of steel tracks for my wheeled JD 320 skid, here in FL.
    They work great when it gets squishy around here, and not too hard to remove them. Remove 2 bolts in each track & drive away. Putting them back on is a little harder by yourself.

    We run a case 1840, it's 50 odd hp, and it's biggest fault is it isn't heavy enough, tons of power, tips forward with a heavy bale.

    you guys should look into a mini loader they are awesome super comfortable to drive and operate great visibility great turning

  • @petercifelli8135
    @petercifelli8135 7 лет назад

    You should try switching to "ISO" controls, left stick does all your steering and right stick is the bucket controls, much faster and easier to run. I learned in machines with foot controls and was apprehensive about switching to joysticks but I liked them better immediately. You should also check out the new Bobcats, they've made everything easily accessible for maintenance and have the best protection around the auxiliary hydraulic lines, I currently use a T650 and an S650.

    We just got an L228 just like the one yer vid, super nice! big upgrade from our old LX865! Get the machine that fits your needs, NH has been getting a bad rap lately, but that’s most behind them, but a JD and CAT are great machines, if weren’t getting a NH it would most likely be one of the latter!

    i would suggest looking at wheel loaders as well. we had a jd 250 skid steer at work, when we upgraded to the jd 244k wheel loader it was such an improvement. we actually load faster with the 244 than we did with the 250. i liked the wheel loader so much better that i bought a kubota r420 instead of a skid steer for around my farm. i have a few vids on my channel of the wheel loaders you should check them out.

    I personally would go with bobcat again only because from my experience of using all kinds of skid steers for 8 years you just can't beat the performance of a bobcat compared to other loaders, I own a t300 , s650 and a 743 and I think you Travis and your dad would also love a t300

    we have had two gehls loved them, now we are on our second deere, we had a 326d now we got a 326e. One thing about deere they are a heavy machine, seems like we get stuck easier with them and when we are picking rock in the field with the deere, seems like you don't have enough hp in loose dirt.

    A little advice. Swing out doors suck. The boom has to be all the way down or up to open it. Getting out of it with the boom half way up or down can be a problem. If you have a Kubota dealer in your area and you don't mind tracks. See if they have any used SVL90's.

    I own a millionth edition bobcat t650. MSRP 70k. I got it for 50 and they threw in a beast of a bri-mar trailer a bucket w/ teeth and I bought a jackhammer normally 8k for 5k and a snowblower attachment. the millionth t650 is like a rocket ship you don't feel bumps no dirt gets in the cab since the cab is pressurized it's got real quick tach bunch of screens with gadgets and gizmos up top. suspension seat literally the lambo of skid steers. chrome exhaust there's diamond plating on it. not 1 problem with it and I had it for a year so far.

      Made In USA.....Owned by Doosan (Korea).

    • @mikecowan5786
      @mikecowan5786 7 лет назад

      Jim Listerman bobcat is usa. Headquarters and where they are built is USA the only thing with Korea is their parents company DOOSAN. But bobcat independently operates from it self doosan knows bobcat knows that they are doing that's why they sell more than cat kubota case new Holland and deere combined. bobcat is the first skid steer all American parts built by hand. deere uses foreign parts and alot of robots. bobcat is superior in every way. bobcat has a pressurized cab. alot quieter than deere inside and the bobcat I have you don't even feel bumps.

    • @jimlisterman2138
      @jimlisterman2138 7 лет назад +1

      Korean ownership is NOT the same as USA ownership.
      Bobcat has greater market share based on dealer network
      And, more years in the business. Not superior any longer.
      I worked @ Ohio's largest dealer. Have you sold Bobcat's ?

    • @mikecowan5786
      @mikecowan5786 7 лет назад

      I own bobcats and I'm friends with the owner of the largest dealer of bobcats in the north east. Bobcat independently operates it self. Doosan doesn't over see it. They just merely own them as a subsidiary. I would bet you anything that a bobcat would out perform in any test against another manufacturer.

  • @dankruger2890
    @dankruger2890 7 лет назад

    Get the same controls the other machine has if your gunna keep the old machine. Matching controls works best. You are on the right track, make sure you try out three or four different brands with the same controls as your old skidsteer. Every manufacture has its benefits. Also do your spec numbers before you go look and a machine so you can compare. I just bought a 226d cat and I tried out four other machines from different manufactures. and cat was slightly ahead of the rest. but I liked the Gehl, John Deere, Case, and Wacker . Cat had the best financing and spec numbers for my needs

    I would want a grapple with it. The handiest think you can have dealing with brush etc.

    You will not be disappointed with the Deere they are the most reliable ones we have run and if you have a problem you can rely on Deeres service

    Just my two cents but we have a 326D wheeled machine and a 323D track machine and both with 1500 or less hours and they are nothing compared to a bobcat. Both machines have been a mechanical nightmare. We have 7 other skid steers, 5 of which are bobcats and 2 case and those machines beat the Deere's hands down. One case has 21,000 hours on it, all the rest are 8500+ hours and flawless machines.

      That's funny because we use a 323D and it works like a charm
