Great to see a 130! in the early 70's my dad did finance for a big London Fiat dealership and had a 130 saloon as a company car - boy did he love that car! Someone bought it and he ended up with the S2 XK6 that came in a bit later - never heard the end of it! Definately underrated if you can get past the draylon seats! I dont really like resto-mods but getting a decent 130 and just doing the interior out nicely would be so tempting.

This car would be great with a Daimler 250V8 Hemi engine or a Rover SD1 dual plenum or Stag V8!
Leather was optional also later cars had Alcantara in a nice blue
Ian Tyrrell raved about the 130 as well. However, he expressed sadness over the engine detuning. He had one that Guy Croft redid the engine on. Guy increased the CR, and he made a manifold for dual downdraft carburetors.

Well here’s the thing, I did all the work on that car !
I located the fabled Guy Croft engine with the help of Martin Buckley and installed it in that car so I know all about it. It was actually a very mild tune. But ABARTH did some really trick stuff with the 130 V6 including supercharger in a sort of Beta Monte Carlo O37 thing . There was also a ABARTH wide body 131 with the V6 which I have seen in Italy.

In Iraly many installed a nice Alfa Busso V6 from 75 the 3.0
You need a better engine in These nice cars, i suggest the Dual Plenum Rover V8 from.Vitesse 1985!
On old 1970s cars only use DOT3 brake fluid NEVER DOT4 or 5
DOT 4 is fine with this system but 5.1 is not compatible for use on old Italian brake systems as it will get past the hydraulic seals. I have the master cylinder re sleeved and it works great with DOT4
Nono Dot4 Contains boracidesther...it chews away all old 1970s rubber...you need Dot3 on All cars until 1983
