- We’re checking in on the most handsome class Phantom to see how the class is doing after all the big summer updates. While my Phantom is only level 210 I have been hanging out with the big phantoms to get their perspective on the class while I tried some of the early level 200 content myself.

I think they should keep the skill stealing. It's so unique it'd be a shame to can it. They should buff it somehow tho.
I’d love to see Phantom getting more base IED or Boss dmg since he’s a lot better at bossing than mobbing and they really need it regardless
Being able to create a library on the boat, so you can collect all the skills?
(Maybe every individual class character can give you 1 random explorer spell, to make it a fun quest?)
For every job you can steal 1 buff skill and 1 attack skill, or 1 active (buff/attack) + 1 passive?
I find it truly egregious that we can't steal Raging Blow from the Hero class.
I've always liked Phantom, but it's just too weak. I dunno if it'd work, but I think they should let Phantom take Cygnus Knight skills as well. After all, his lover was an Empress of Cygnus.
I just got back into ms last week and went back to my old main phantom and hit 200 yesterday. It was a painful journey, but not knowing what v skills were and then getting phantoms mark made it more than worth it
I remember when the first phantom in mardia hit the cap, apparently he was abusing the window mode bug with the rapid fire skills (holding it down and clicking off the screen with a macro auto clicker)

I just started leveling phantom and was having a lot of fun using stolen skills to grind up to level 100. I wish they had some of their own dedicated mobbing skills because I don't really enjoy spamming showdown. Looking forward to 5th job though, pretty fun class!
At this point, they need to gut the skill stealing mechanic. They created something pretty ambitious, and I think the devs bit off more than they can chew when it comes to balancing.
My suggestions - give Phantom a FD boost *or* a skill like Final Cut, make Tempest into a placedown/turret skill. Make Milles into a card throwing skill. Make that dead waifu Aria skill function like Pally’s Sacro + temporary buffs like Bullseye shot/Concentrate - in one skill. Instead of heal, make a tea-based healing skill (from the Zero storyline) that can function as a self-heal *or* place-down fountain heal.
Allow him to steal one pre-determined skill from each Heroes character, and allow Phantom to Xenon-switch between them. Spikes Royale from Mercedes, Reflection from Lumi, Dark Fog from Evan, Maha Blessing from Aran, and Death Mark from Shade. Make each a quest, because why not haha. Maybe make them weaker versions of said skills.
Maybe once skill stealing isn’t an issue anymore, give Phantom a much better double/up-jump and non-ping reliant teleports. He’s supposed to be super mobile and fast canonically but he’d run into balance issues if steal skilling is still around.
Wait that tempest change is big. Tempest benefits hard from cooldown hat so lowering the duration let's you take advantage even more.
I think not being able to jump in your hurricane/tempest is outdated and should be changed, especially since you can already jump at the start of the moves, just not while holding them down.

Man, i remember when phantom came out. was fun to play, hard to find certain explorers.
I miss when I had nebulites on my phantom, I made a troll build that had a chance to heal with Every attack but since Every card counted as an individual attack the healing was pretty nuts. Get smacked by a non 1 hit boss? No problem the cards heal you to full health before the knockback/stun is over
One thing I would like to see for Phantom is better hyper skills to steal, it can steal basically none of the useful ones. Imagine if it could steal Buckshot, that would be a huge boost for them
I think a remake is far overdue for this class. It's sad it's been so neglected - aesthetically, it's always been my favorite, but I can't ignore how F-tier the class is/has been for far too long.
Was once the top damage potential class, but now he truly hides in the shadows

As a phantom main id like to have a life steal that does not relay on RNG, maybe make it so every buff you get at 40 cards stays instead of dissapearing
whenever you get a new one. better mobbing is a must. im fine with eather route you pointed they can go bcause i always loved hes own skills.

I suggest giving phantom a shadow partner-like skill. It just doesn't feel right that a thief class doesn't have a shadow partner

I was playing my phantom today and noticed that we received the 'Erda nova' skill which is a bind that was previously unavailable to us. Not sure when Nexon decided to give us some love
erda nova was unavailable to phantom? isnt that a common 5th job skill for all?
Combine the Mark and Rift Break skills together, and add a new skill to steal 5th job skills from Explorers. And maybe allow to steal skills from Heroes, Cygnus Knights or Resistance.
lowkey i might burn a phantom to self inflict pain because this class feel so bad but its such a cool class
i wish phantom has its own identity, have hes own mobbing skill instead of relying weaker version of the explorer mobbing skills.
Give phantom no attack skills themselves after 1st job(besides cooldown aoe stuff maybe) let then not steal buffs anymore but let them take any attack from any class - the passive buffs classes get and give them their own passive buffs like extra lines on cooldown skills or keep the card effects for non cooldown stolen skills, maybe a 5th job burst like skill that temporarily grants all the passive skills from attacks you have stolen.

I have a feeling the winter update for kms will be a hero revamp. Maybe im going out on a limb here but a lot of the heros work well but theres a lot of things that could be done better. Especially for phantom. Not sure why his cards only hit enemies you’ve hit but id really like to see the cards fly all over the place, you know like every other explorer and Cygnus thief
I may be wrong, but i think I heard that nexon wont be doing group revamps anymore.

@@4lAces nah resistance has a lot of new classes. Mech got a rework a year and a half ago, blaster is newer, battle mage getting lots of changes in ignition, avenger just got a huge rework, and demon slayer is in a really good state. Only one that i could see a rework for is wild hunter. Actually mechanic has been reworked 3 times since since heroes came out
@@anthonyjiang0o0 i believe they did say that. However the mmo scene in korea is super unstable at the moment. Lost ark has been making a lot of mistakes and popularity is going down. I wouldn’t be surprised to see a huge game changing update in order to raise their popularity again

The opening mission for phantom was a pain to do for me. I am not a good player and I got caught multiple times before actually passing it and making it to the cutscene. The opening mission should be skippable or easier so that I don't have to end up losing interest so easily.
they should make it so phantoms can go to each job instructor and steal their skills

Honestly... When I was leveling my Phantom for the link skill, I almost gave up and uninstalled Maplestory because it was such a demotivating experience.
The skills you can steal are quite limited, and only a handful of said skills are good enough to use.
You're basically playing as a strictly worse version of any other class, and what's worse is that the skills that actually do belong to the Phantom are extremely unexciting.
Phantom should natively get the meso passive of shadowers imo
im gonna burn a phantom for ignition beacause they look so versatile and fun to play, like u can have many mobbing skills if u get bored and many playstyles

I have a phantom, and pally, around the same range, the pally survives better, is lower effort, and deals more dmg. Kind of a no brainer lol. Phantom is more fun to play, but yeah.
Do you have like a beginners guide that show some beginning steps, how to level and such?

Phantom is weird, every time I try to play, I get the same feeling of "ok this is fine but I'm literally weaker than the class I'm pretending to be, for the rest of my maple career. I am using chain lightning but I can instantly be stronger with it by just playing an IL
Steal Bucc time leap to have 100% up time for hero's echo skill to keep that juicy 2% attack buff, even the smallest of dame boost can help.
To improve phantom they should make Tempest an install like arrow platter or make it like I/L summon that can follow you and have the option to set it.
Make phantom Jump while doing Mille
Give each impeccable memory a passive % damage to normal monsters
maybe let phantom steal non-explorer skills only up to 2nd job or only 1st
lets steal jet skills idk why but wth
maybe let phantom pick/switch the carte noir buffs like how bowmaster can switch healing arrow from the other one
switch that dex beginner skill to something like a % chance to auto steal an item from monsters and half it for bosses

The only thing about phantom in my opinion is lack of damage in main 4th job skill it does 160% damage with hyper skill buffs and 5th job could improve damage as well but with a lot of funding. Also the stealing mechanic sucks when it comes to a huge update because I would have to spend hours looking for my skills again from other classes…. I play in aurora and it was sooo hard to find a paladin for the invincible skill
I have played in european reboot server for 2 weeks and have YET to meet a single player. I don’t know where to steal skills from
I'm personally hoping for the phantom's next V skill to be a summon whose characteristics (size/damage/duration/movement) may change depending on what class type is chosen. The class would likely be chosen by arrow key input (5 classes, 4 directions + no input), and this flexibility could help both grinding and bossing. There's also a lot of potential for visual appeal, like the animation switching between axe/sword/hammer every now and then when picking warrior and then doing to same for the other classes too. This idea would likely take up too many resources for one skill, but I think it'd be cool.

My wish list for phantom changes:
1. All his spells can be used mid air
2. No movement speed penalty during Tempest and able to jump (treat like DB's Asura)
3. Able to steal all classes' skills or Shadow Partner stealable (either one)
4. Increase Hurricane multipliers or attack lines
this would be so nice, phantom is really undertune :(

Someone suggested that the skills should do 90% less damage to bosses and 150% damage to mobs. Or balance it properly when in testing. That way the stolen skills won't be super op for bossing and phantoms won't be gimped when mobbing. Going to cernium with even 40% fd less is terrible.

Just wanted to point out that a lot of the points you touched on are on a Phantom discord Google doc that has been publicly shared by another Phantom main. You should give credit where credit is due, cuz I was interested in seeing your own unique perspective on it, not just a reiteration of a document that already exists.
i feel like every key down burst skill needs to have some kind of cc protection cause when bosses can spam stuns, seals and whatever and whenever the hell they want, we need perfect defense during these things. such a stupid mechanic to have a burst wasted cause a boss is spamming and you gotta wait 3min cd for the entire crap to come back up. can you imagine classes like beast tamer who even has a slower wind up time on her hurricane hammer vs bean? holy fking hell she'd be spending more than half the time spamming all cures than atking the boss itself. i dont care if its too op to make every key down burst for full 10s duration. we're locked behind a massive cd duration and pot duration too while bossing
Phantom should be able to use all of the skills he steals. If he can steal four 1st job abilities, then he should be able to actually use them all, and not just pick one.
why not make them skill steal from job instructors

Nah Phantom really just need even more lines. Ignore all the structural problem and just fix it by adding more lines.

ive been playing phantom for years now, and i cant get what nexon is waiting for change this class. That's the exact solution: remove this skill stealing mec, its not that good and useful, and his own skill are SO BORING. Nust turn phantom into a real class, not depending on others, use the fancy cards theme and make a real slippy assassin
