God said, "before ME there was no other gods formed, nor shall there be after me" and He said, "I know of no other gods".....so the Bible clearly teaches that Mormonism is false. God also said, to worship Him alone, not three gods, not two gods, just One God.....

Maybe the reason every single one of you mormons seem to believe something different than eachother is because your church is hiding certain things from you until you progress farther in it. Not hard to assume that considering this is a secretive cult. But maybe you are a new convert or a different mormon denomination.

You see we could not develop faith if we new everything and if we new everything we would be Gods. We are not Gods but nearther is a baby an adult. But that baby can grow up and become an adult. Just like God is only one and the Father of our spirits before we got our bodies. I am only one and the Father of my children. Christ is the only begotten of the Father the Father of our spirits before we got our bodies. Christ is gods only begotten son in the flesh. This is part of what gave Christ the power to brake the bonds of death so that we will be resurrected. It is fun to learn become and overcome. It is mans weaknesses that keep us from God. John 1:1-14, KJV
1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word WAS God.
2 The same was in the beginning with God.
3 All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.
4 In him was life; and the life was the light of men.
5 And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not.
6 There was a man sent from God, whose name was John.
7 The same came for a witness, to bear witness of the Light, that all men through him might believe.
8 He was not that Light, but was sent to bear witness of that Light.
9 That was the true Light, which lighteth every man that cometh into the world.
10 He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world knew him not.
11 He came unto his own, and his own received him not.
12 But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:
13 Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.
14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth

Dude... you need to learn the Greek language first... if you can't read and unable to translate properly, I would give up. The Greek text actually says "In the beginning was the word, and the word was with God, and the Word was A god..." This clearly means there is more than 1 god... it even talks about a council of gods in the heavens in the bible. Education and research do wonders. Putting the greek into a translator app will say the word was god, but if you are actually Greek, you KNOW it says A god... to say that it was God, it would have to say "Itan O Theos" So the Greek actually says that The word was a God. Hope that helps.

When Jesus Christ was resurrected, he appeared to the apostles who were afraid that he was a spirit. He told them that His resurrected body was a body of flesh and bone. Thomas wanted to touch Him before he would believe, which he did. When Jesus Christ ascended to heaven He said He was going to His Father and your Father, His God and your God. Stephen saw the risen Christ on the right hand of God the Father.

"God", or the Godhead, as they are referred to in several passages of the Bible, includes God the Father, Jesus Christ the Son, and the Holy Spirit. The Father and Son indeed have both spirits and bodies, while the Holy Ghost is spirit only. As we worship and learn about God and all truth, the Holy Ghost testifies to us. He "teaches [us] all things, and bring[s] all things to [our] remembrance" that Jesus Christ taught. (John 14:26) As a disciple of Christ and member of the Church of Jesus Christ, I rejoice in this ability to worship God in spirit and truth.
There has been great misunderstanding about the very nature of God, even among those who seek His word. I have heard many Christians argue with each other about various passages in the Bible, generally without positive results. Fortunately, God has given us new scripture in our day that complements and helps us to understand the older scripture. The Bible is wonderful. I encourage everyone to also study from the Book of Mormon and pray to God the Father to ask Him if, indeed, it is true. When you do so sincerely, He will answer through the Holy Ghost that it is His true word, and you will find greater and joyous learning.

@@romanfairy The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has been studying from the New Testament in our main course of study this year. I have found that the Book of Mormon works very well in tandem with the Bible. The teachings of the Church do contradict some interpretations of biblical passages, but that is part of the reason why we have the Book of Mormon and the words of modern prophets. They help us to understand truth, just as scripture in the Bible does.
My favorite passage in the Bible for understanding the nature of the Godhead is John 17, where Jesus is speaking to His Father in prayer. I particularly appreciate verses 20-22: "Neither pray I for these alone, but for them also which shall believe on me through their word; That they all may be one; as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us: that the world may believe that thou hast sent me. And the glory which thou gavest me I have given them; that they may be one, even as we are one:"
Speaking of people missing big points in the Bible, I feel like many people miss this one, but I love it that Jesus wants us to be united in the same way that He and His father are.
I'm not sure I've asked you this before, but would you mind sharing more of your beliefs with me? Specifically, why do you read the Bible? Or, why do you consider the Bible to be God's word?

To answer your question, the verses in Revelation 22 have been cited repeatedly by those attempting to discredit the Book of Mormon, claiming that God’s revelation to man is closed. A prophet of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints named Howard W. Hunter addressed these concerns in an speech given many years ago. As he taught, a careful reading of the Book of Revelation makes it clear the warning against adding to or taking away does not refer to the whole Bible or even the New Testament, but only to the words of "the book of this prophecy," or the book of Revelation. See the link to his full message below, which explains that some books of the New Testament had not yet even been written when John wrote the book of Revelation, and those which had been written and were in existence had not yet been gathered into one compilation. We believe God is unchangeable and continues to give additional revelation to guide His children in any age as He has in the past. www.churchofjesuschrist.org/study/general-conference/1981/04/no-man-shall-add-to-or-take-away?lang=eng

I have a friend, not a member of the church, who understands the distinctness of God the Father, His Son Jesus Christ, and the Holy Ghost. He gathered that knowledge from the Nicean Creed - the original one. The one most Christians know about is actually the Niceno-Constantinopolitan creed. There are a number of differences, but none more important than the divergence from the understanding of the Godhead as three distinct personages.
It is clear to me that the further from the time of the apostles, the more apostasy crept in; from 325 to 381 this important doctrine was lost, and it remained lost, despite many protestations until the restoration once again brought clarity to this doctrine.

So many people misunderstand what He meant when He said it. The Godhead--one God--is indeed three beings who are united in purpose and will. The most helpful passage I know of for understanding this is John 17:20-22; in it, Jesus prayed to His Father and said the following: "Neither pray I for these alone, but for them also which shall believe on me through their word; That they may all be one; as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us: that the world may believe that thou hast sent me. And the glory which thou gavest me I have given them; that they may be one, even as we are one". Through the power of Christ, we can be united with God the Father in the same way that Christ is--that is what He fervently desires, as He expressed in those verses. I hope that helps you understand better. You can learn more about the Church of Jesus Christ at ComeUntoChrist.org.

The Bible doesn’t teach that God has a physical body. The Bible teaches that God is spirit. “God is spirit, and those who worship him must worship in spirit and truth." - John 4:24
That is from the mouth of Jesus Christ.
Also, Paul, in 1st Corinthians chapter 1 says that Jesus is the image of the invisible God.
While God does appear multiple times in the Bible with a physical body, He is Spirit in nature. God can absolutely appear in the form of a man, but this would just be a veiled image of who he really is. We know it wasn’t his true form because God told Moses, "you cannot see my face, for man shall not see me and live." - Exodus 33:20
There are many plain and precious truths that God revealed to us about himself thousands of years before Joseph Smith. Then Joseph Smith showed up, claimed to be a prophet, and denied the fundamental things that God revealed to us about himself.
“Before the mountains were brought forth, or ever you had formed the earth and the world, from everlasting to everlasting you are God.” - Psalm 90:2
God has always been God. He did not at any point become God.
Isaiah is also jam packed with verses of God saying that he is the one and only God. That there were no gods before him and none after. In fact, God even claims that he doesn’t even know of any other gods. And how could an omniscient God not even be aware of the existence of any other gods if there are technically innumerable gods like LDS doctrine teaches? Joseph Smith taught that we have got to learn to become gods ourselves someday.
I’ll post a few more verses that the teachings of Joseph Smith contradict.
Matthew 24:35, Luke 21:33 and Luke 21:33 all account Jesus saying these words: “Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away.”
Isaiah 40:8 “The grass withereth, the flowers fadeth: but the word of our God shall stand forever.”
1 Peter 1:24-25 “For all flesh is as grass, and all the glory of man as the flower of grass. The grass withereth and the flower thereof fateth away: But the word of the Lord endureth forever. And this is the word with by the gospel is preached unto you.”
Matthew 16:18 “I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church, and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.”
God can and did preserve his word perfectly (unlike the teachings of LDS doctrine). These verses seem to clearly indicate that there would never need to be a restoration of the gospel or the church because neither would ever pass away. Joseph Smith taught the contrary.
I post all of this to say, please do your research and know where the Bible disagrees with the teachings of Joseph Smith and the LDS Church. I know people will disagree and assume the worst of me, but just know that I honestly post this out of love, not hate.

Stephen, I appreciate your sincerity. There have always been people who have brought misunderstanding, but God has also called prophets. You have listed contradictions that are not actually contradictions. It would take quite a while to talk through everything you've listed, but I'd like to ask you a question. You clearly have an appreciation for the Bible, as I do. What led you to believe that the Bible is the word of God?

    • @MadElectrician
      @MadElectrician 5 лет назад +2

Jay Britton Fisher I really appreciate your gracious and understanding reply. What truly has me convinced that the Bible is the word of God is really a lot of things. First off is all of the incredible and inexplainable prophecies from it that have been fulfilled. My thinking is this. If the Bible is truly the word of God, then it must have things that could have only come from the mind of God and not man (prophesies). One incredible prophesy being Isaiah 53, which was prophesying the sacrifice and crucifixion of our savior Jesus Christ. Another really cool one is the destruction of the city of Tyre found in Ezekiel.
There is also the abundance of archeological evidence that just keeps on being discovered from the Bible.
Also all of the overwhelming evidence for the life, crucifixion, and resurrection of Jesus.
Of course, there is also the way God has revealed himself to me and worked in my life, but here is my problem with using that as a reason why I believe, though it is a very important reason nonetheless. If you have a Christian, a Jehovahs Witness, a Muslim, a Latter Day Saint, and a member of any other religion and you ask them why they believe, they will all sincerely respond that they have prayed about it and received confirmation from their god that what they believe is true.
The Bible teaches us that “The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately sick; who can understand it?” - Jeremiah 17:9
I love that the Bible lays out how we can know if a prophesy or a prophet is true or not. “When a prophet speaks in the name of the LORD, if the word does not come to pass or come true, that is a word that the LORD has not spoken; the prophet has spoken it presumptuously. You need not be afraid of him.” - Deuteronomy 18:22
I’ve honestly spent the past year or so studying LDS doctrine and teachings and testing it with the Bible. “Do not despise prophesies but test everything; hold fast what is good.” - 1 Thessalonians 5:21
I have to say that the prophesies of Joseph Smith simply do not meet the standard set by the Bible. One incorrect prophecy disqualifies a true prophet. An example of this would be the prophecy of the Temple of Independence. This was time bound and it did not come true when Joseph Smith claimed it would.
Believe me, I want the truth and I am absolutely certain that I have it; however, if for some reason I was mistaken I would want to know because I don’t care about being right as much as I care about having the truth.
I apologize for the lengthy reply. I’m sure you’re just as passionate about your beliefs as I am about mine though. I hope you can see my sincerity and can see my heart in what I’m saying.

david janbaz, Interesting thought. I don’t think that particular piece of information has been revealed yet. However, we know from the Bible that God the Father had Jesus through the power of the Holy Ghost. The Bible also teaches that we are spiritually reborn to God the Father through the Holy Ghost. So, if the pattern in these two types of births are a shadow of our premarital births, it’s likely that God the Father used God the Holy Ghost to birth God the Son spiritually before he birthed him physically. And he did the same for all of us.
But it’s also apparent, through the birth of Jesus through the power of The Holy Ghost, that the physical world and the spiritual world are not entirely incompatible.

Man was made in the image of God. Nothing about heavenly parents in the Genesis account... the gospel you preach is different than the original. The first man was breathed breath into, direct from God, into his nostrils. Each human thereafter is a descendant from the first 2 humans: Adam and Eve. Not from a spirit parents. The bible speaks of no such thing.

You've clearly heard some incorrect information, so I'll help you out. Many people have already mitigated each of these concerns or likely had enough information that they were never a concern in the first place, and the foundation for our faith is not perfect physical proof because that wouldn't be faith at all, but rather our knowledge is based on a witness from God. To correct you on several points of doctrine of the Church of Jesus Christ that you raised: The influence of the Holy Ghost, who is the third member of the Godhead, can be felt everywhere. God does not have a body of flesh and blood but rather a body of flesh and bone. Pertaining to Joseph Smith and the Book of Mormon: Joseph Smith used the gift and power of God, which sometimes involved the assistance of physical object, not unlike ancient prophets in the Bible who also used physical objects in their work. Joseph Smith was familiar with the KJV Bible and it's unsurprising that the passages of the Book of Mormon that quote biblical authors are similar, and yet there are nuances that strongly suggest the opposite of "plagiarism". The "CES Letter" was designed to be inconclusive and to cast doubt, and is not helpful in bringing anyone to truth. The corrections to the Book of Mormon largely amount to punctuation, and there are many errors also in the Bible, but small mistakes do not indicate that either volume is not inspired by God. In regard to archaeology, no specific region has been identified to correlate known ancient peoples with the Nephites and Lamanites, but as archaeological evidence is uncovered and assembled with time the archaeological argument for the Book of Mormon increases with time. You might be surprised to learn what has been discovered and what possible meaning some of the words you mentioned might have; however, no wise person relies on archaeology to determine whether or not any writing is scripture inspired by God. The written language used to record the Book of Mormon was very possibly unique and developed for that specific purpose, as a written language was needed that would be efficient for engraving on metal plates, so it's not surprising to have found an exact match anywhere else. Preying on people you viewed as gullible and deceiving them would bring you no eternal peace and joy, and deception is not at all the same principle as seeking truth from God as members of the Church of Jesus Christ do. You are correct that John 17 is a great passage for understand the nature of the unity of God and the unity that the Father and Son have and that we can have also someday with them; congratulations on identifying such an important passage of scripture. You're also correct that as we worship God we rely on the third member of the Godhead--the Holy Ghost--for a witness of truth so that we may worship in spirit. Hopefully that's helpful to you.

AzStreets The Greek text of John 4:24 contains no article before the word spirit. Thus, the Greek phrase can also be understood to mean “God is spirit,” or “God is spiritual.” The Apostle John also wrote that “God is light” (1 John 1:5) and “God is love” (1 John 4:8), but these statements do not mean that God is only light, or that God is love and nothing else. Neither do we understand the statement that “man is spirit” (D&C 93:33) to mean that man is only spirit and nothing else. In the same sense, John 4:24 does not mean that God is only spirit. From latter-day revelation, we know that “the Father has a body of flesh and bones as tangible as man’s; the Son also; but the Holy Ghost has not a body of flesh and bones, but is a personage of Spirit” (D&C 130:22).
In the context of the Savior’s teachings about true worship, the statement in John 4:24 can be seen as commentary more about the nature of worship than the nature of God. Since God is a spiritual being, people must worship Him “in spirit and in truth” (John 4:24), not merely through outward rituals performed at certain locations (see John 4:20-21).
(From a New Testament study guide)
Agree or disagree, I hope this at least provides context for why we believe what we believe. There is no conflict here. But it’s also another reminder of why modern-day revelation is so important. No man-made church could obtain the whole truth just from analyzing the Bible and using human reasoning to put a proper church together.

Confirming the spirit and power of holiness by raising Him from the dead.

This is why Adam was a man who perished, but the second Adam (Christ) is a life-giving Spirit who gives eternal life to those who believe. All that is created bears witness against the heresy purported in this video of God the Father having flesh and bone. “Our God is a consuming fire”

Both the Book of Mormon and the Bible agree that there is only one God. Many people misunderstand what "one" means in various passages of scripture, and how these three beings are so united. The most helpful passage I know of is John 17, in which Jesus prayed to the Father. In verses 20-22, He said, "Neither pray I for these alone, but for them also which shall believe on me through their word; That they may all be one; as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us: that the world may believe that thou hast sent me. And the glory which thou gavest me I have given them; that they may be one, even as we are one". Jesus wants us to be united in the same we that He is with the Father--to be united in purpose and will, as we learn to submit our will to that of the Father just as Christ did. One God means that they do not argue among themselves or seek different goals, like the gods of various mythologies.

I have a question. I had a mormon friend who said Jesus and Lucifer were brother and sister. How can that be when Lucifer is an Angel and was casted out of Heaven for his pride. And Angels are servants of God, just as us humans are servants of God. This means Angels and God are not equal. Jesus is God in the Flesh. Jesus is the Word of God and All things were made through him. Jesus was always in existence with the Father before the World existed. Jesus was never created, he was in the Beginning. Why, would she say that? Were they confused or is this a real belief among this Religion?
    Jesus speaking,
And now, *Father, glorify me in your own presence with the glory that I had with you before the world existed.*
    John 17:5 ESV
In the beginning was the Word (Jesus), and the Word (Jesus) was with God, and *the Word (Jesus) was God.* He (Jesus) was in the beginning with God. All things were made through him (Jesus), and without him was not any thing made that was made. In him was life, and the life was the light of men. The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.
And the Word (Jesus) became flesh and dwelt among us, and we have seen his glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth.

I, John, am the one who heard and saw these things. And when I heard and saw them, *I fell down to worship at the feet of the angel* who showed them to me, but he said to me, " *You must not do that! Revelation 22:8‭-‬9 ESV

Jesus and Lucifer were both with us before the creation of the Earth. We were all spirit children of our Heavenly Father. Jesus came to Earth to be our Savior, whereas Lucifer rebelled against God and became Satan and was cast out of Heaven, and is no longer part of God's family. Lucifer was the "son of the morning" before, but is fallen, and he and Jesus Christ are very much opposites now.

Joseph Smith: "We have imagined and supposed that God was God from all eternity. I will refute that idea, and take away the veil, so that you may see."
Joseph Smith: “God himself was once as we are now, and is an exalted man."
The latter quote I found on the LDS official site. I expect the former can be found there as well as I believe it is from the same sermon.
Also on the LDS site, it recounts Lorenzo Snow having a "revelation" that he summarized in the couplet: "As man now is, God once was. As God now is, man may become." It goes on to say that Snow would begin teaching this when he learned that it had also been taught by Smith.
In Isaiah 43:10, the Father says, "Before me there was no God formed, neither shall there be after me."
This directly contradicts the teaching of Joseph Smith. Both cannot be true.
The first lie told by the serpent in Eden? That God had lied. The second? That we can become like God.

Jesus Christ not only taught that we can become like God, but He instructed us to do so. Refer to Matthew 5:48. He prayed in John 17:20-22 that His disciples would all be one as He and the Father are, and in John 10:34-35 He quoted the psalmist from Psalm 82:6, who referred to true disciples as "gods". There's more to be understood from Isaiah 43:10; in context, the Lord was re-emphasizing His role as their Savior, as opposed to the "gods" they had known in Egypt.

      As a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, I will give what answer I can. Please understand that the term "God" can refer to any of them individually, or all three together. That's a matter of language. If LeBron James walked into a room, others there could reasonably say something like, "Ah, the Lakers have arrived!" because even as an individual he would be representing their team. Many people have struggled to understand the unity of the Godhead. The passage of scripture I find most useful is in John 17, where Jesus Christ is praying to God the Father. I particularly take note of verses 20-22, where He prayed, "Neither pray I for these alone, but for them also which shall believe on me through their word;
That they all may be one; as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us: that the world may believe that thou hast sent me.
And the glory which thou gavest me I have given them; that they may be one, even as we are one". He desires us to have the same unity that He has with the Father. As we learn more about Them, we are able to draw nearer to them and thus to other disciples of Christ, and we make progress toward that unity.

He did not change his mind 6,000 years later. Jesus is Jehovah of the Old Testament. An analogy I've heard is that Heavenly Father is the architect and Jesus is the Contractor. Generally, Heavenly Father works in this world through his son, but has manifest himself on select occasions to bear witness of his Son (such as when Jesus was baptized). Because the idea of the trinity was so ingrained into Christianity it was essential for Heavenly Father to appear with Jesus Christ to Joseph Smith in order to restore Christ's church to the earth and establish understanding of the true nature of god.

You've got some things right, there. Jesus Christ did say that He and His Father are one, and He prayed that we would be one also just as they are in John 17. He desires that we have the same unity--that we be one with them. Jesus Christ (Jesus "the Anointed") was selected to be our Savior before the world was created. God knew that by putting us here on Earth and giving us the ability to choose moral decisions for ourselves, we would sometimes make the wrong choices and distance ourselves from Him, so He prepared a Savior for us. Through the power of Jesus Christ we can repent and overcome sin. The Holy Ghost sanctifies and purifies us. Ultimately, we all fall short, but the grace of Jesus Christ makes up for that which we cannot do ourselves. If you'd care to explore it more and gain greater understanding, I can recommend 2 Nephi 9 and Alma 34, which both contain powerful passages that explain the Atonement of Jesus Christ and the power He has in our lives.

One of the attributes of God is Immutability (God is unchanging) and from that follows impassibility (God does not suffer pain). To say God has a body of flesh and bone is a pagan idea and falls under heresy. The idea that God has flesh and bone not only undermines God but also doesn't do any favor to the definition of God. God is not a material being, He is Spirit (John 4:24). The Greek word used in the New Testament for Spirit is pneuma (having no material substance or The immaterial part of the inner person that can respond to God). When the Bible says, 'God created human in His own image' (Gen 1:27), it is not the body and flesh but the intrinsic part of the human, the spirit which wills freely and chooses just like God. Conceptualizing God to the things we see to contain the incomprehensible vastness of God to flesh and bone is idol worship.

Great, informative and inspiring video. The video seems to affirm the vision and testimony of Stephen (one of seven original deacons who assisted the Apostles) when he testified before the Jewish Sanhedrin (the same Council who had recently condemned Christ). In Acts 7 it states that Stephen was "full of the Holy Ghost (JKV) or Holy Spirit (NIV)". Then in vision Stephen saw both Jesus Christ and God the Father standing next to each other. Apparently Stephen's mission was so important that all three members of the Godhead (as described in this video) were present.
The religious elites in Stephen's day were so set in their ways that they could not accept his teachings (this one about the Godhead was the last straw). Stephen was martyred (i.e. stoned) for his beliefs. Hopefully, we can learn from this, so nowadays people of good faith can "agree to disagree" and still worship God "in spirit and in truth" according to their individual understanding. (See Acts 7:55-60).

“God has a body of flesh and bone” is against Christian/Biblical doctrine. From the book of Genesis and throughout the entire Bible we learn that God is one; not three. God is a Spirit...and Jesus is the express (human: flesh & blood) image of God, who is Spirit. The Holy Ghost (Spirit of God, Spirit of Christ) indwells in each of those who are indeed, born again. And the Holy Scriptures declare, these 3 are 1. They are not 3, separate and distinct beings, they are 1. Jesus said, “when you’ve seen me, you’ve seen the Father.” And again He says, “I and the Father are one!”

It is indeed taught in scripture. John 17 contains a passage that, for me, is the most helpful in understanding the nature of the Godhead; in it, Jesus is praying to God the Father, and in verses 20-22 He said, "Neither pray I for these alone, but for them also which shall believe on me through their word; That they all may be one; as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us: that the world may believe that thou hast sent me. And the glory which thou gavest me I have given them; that they may be one, even as we are one". From this, we see that Jesus desires that we all have the same unity that He and the Father have. As he subjected His will to the Father, so should we.

There is evidence, though it's a different sort of evidence from what we consider in the sciences. Latter-day saints seek and receive a personal and direct witness from God about the truths of the restored gospel. We testify to others and share scripture, but everyone has to follow the same process of seeking knowledge directly from God in order to receive that kind of knowledge--it is not something that can be measured and proven with scientific instruments and observations. Sure, God could provide scientific proof, but evidently it does not serve His purposes to do so. There are some out there who are "gullible", but latter-day saints seek knowledge through study and revelation. Knowledge from God is the best evidence we can have about anything.

The unity of God is certain, but what it means is less certain for many people. I find John 17 to be very helpful. In it, Jesus Christ prayed to the Father. In verses 20-22, He expressed a desire that all of His followers should be "one" also. He said, "Neither pray I for these alone, but for them also which shall believe on me through their word; That they all may be one; as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us: that the world may believe that thou hast sent me. And the glory which thou gavest me I have given them; that they may be one, even as we are one". The idea of gods in mythology includes beings who have different purposes and are often at odds with each other, whereas Jesus Christ continually subjected His own will to that of the Father. "God" as a title often refers to any one member of the Godhead, but can also refer to the group as a whole, just as we have names for sporting teams that (if functioning effectively) are to act in unity also. Though Jesus Christ is typically referred to as the Son, He also becomes our Father spiritually when we are spiritually reborn through His Atonement and the covenant of baptism.

Members of the Church of Jesus Christ absolutely believe that our Heavenly Father is our King and Judge; whoever told you otherwise is misinformed. As to the nature of the Godhead, and the unity of God the Father and the son, I would encourage you to read John 17; it's the most helpful passage I know of for the subject. In it, Jesus prayed to His Father, and in verses 20-22 he prayed that his followers could be "one" as He and His Father are one. That kind of unity is possible someday for us through His power, and it clearly doesn't mean that we will become the same being; thus, their unity is of a different nature, one aspect of which is their unity of purpose and will as the Son subjected His will to that of the Father. Best of luck to you in your further studies.

Does the Mormon doctrine that God has a physical body contradict the Bible's statement in John 4:24 that "God is a Spirit"?
Deuteronomy 4:28 says that our God can see, eat and smell
Some Christians object to the LDS position that God has a physical body by quoting John 4:24:
God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth. (Italics in KJV original).
Adopting a critical reading of this verse leads to some strange conclusions if we are consistent. Deuteronomy 4:28 says that our God can see, eat and smell. Can an unembodied spirit do that? Deuteronomy 4:24 and Hebrews 12:29 say that God is a consuming fire, 1 Jn 1:5 says God is light, and 1 Jn 4:4,16 says that God is love. Is He just those things? Clearly not, and the LDS conclude that neither is He just a spirit.
Note that in the KJV cited above, the word “is” is italicized. This is because the King James translators have inserted it on their own-it is not present in the Greek text from which the translation was made.
Secondly, the reader should be aware that the indefinite article (“a”, as in "a dog" or "a spirit") does not exist in Greek. Thus, the addition of the word "a" in English occurs at the discretion of the translators.[1]
This leaves two Greek words: theos pneuma [θεος πνεμα]-“God spirit”. The JST resolves this translational issue by saying “for unto such hath God promised his spirit”. The word pneuma, which is translated spirit, also means ‘life’ or ‘breath’. The King James Version of Revelation 13:15 renders ‘pneuma’ as life. Thus "God is life," or "God is the breath of life" are potential alternative translations of this verse.
Also, if God is a spirit and we have to worship him in spirit, do mortals have to leave our bodies to worship him?

Consider a few things; if you believe in the Bible, then you believe that Jesus Christ returned after His resurrection, and not only did his followers touch his hands and feet and side, but He also ate with them. God the Father, Jesus Christ, and the Holy Ghost are indeed separate beings, but they are united in the greatest way possible. Jesus said they were "one", and to understand this, I find John 17 to be the most helpful passage. In it, Jesus Christ prayed to the Father, and in verses 20-22 specifically, He said, "Neither pray I for these alone, but for them also which shall believe on me through their word; That they may all be one; as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us: that the world may believe that thou hast sent me. And the glory which thou gavest me I have given them; that they may be one, even as we are one". He wants us to be one just as He and the Father are! Just as He submitted His will to that of the Father, so we should also learn to do so.

That's right. It might be hard to think that such a powerful being has a body. He has a perfect body that looks like our own bodies but His is on the next stage. Like we start with basic bodies and in our Earth life we're training our bodies and minds to be as great as God's and Christ's one day. He wants us to become a gods or goddess like Him one day.
Read when Christ was reserected and walked with his apostles. That is a good example of what God's perfected body is like.

I could go on and on but I’ll end this comment here. Hopefully this didn’t come across rude in any way. I don’t even know wether you believe in the LDS teachings or not, but I hope and pray that this is informative and helps answer any questions!

Joseph Smith was a prophet of God we do not worship him any more than we worship the prophets of God in the Old and New Testaments. We do know from the Bible that we are to follow the Prophets because what they say is from God. We do not believe that Joseph Smith is our savior as you seem to imply we believe in your first sentence. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day saints does not teach that nor do we believe that. We teach and believe that only through Jesus Christ can we inherit the kingdom of God. We know that the only way to return to God (and the bible uses that term, we are returning to Him because we were spirits with Him before we came to earth to receive our bodies) is through Jesus Christ.
The Bible teaches that God is the father of Jesus Christ and The Church of Jesus Christ teaches that also. In the Bible God the Father and Jesus Christ are always spoken of as plural. We also know from the Bible that God and Jesus are one in spirit and mind. But Since Moses saw the finger of God, according to the Bible, that he was not talking to a spirit but that he was a personage of flesh and bone. He and others saw God face to face which could not happen if he was only a spirit. The Bible and Book of Mormon also teaches that man and woman are to become one. That concept is also speaking of spirit and mind we won't become the same personage.
We know from the Bible and Book of Mormon that Jesus was born of the Virgin Mary ( I saw recently that people are claiming The Church of Jesus Christ of Later-day Saints believe she was not a virgin. That is NOT true, we know that Mary had known no man before her son, Jesus Christ, was born therefore she was a virgin), and as the Bible teaches, God is his father. Jesus is the only begotten son of God, but all of us are spirit children of God the Father. The bible teaches in Romans 8: 16-17 that we are all spirit children of God and that as such we are joint heirs with Jesus Christ, pointing out that God and Jesus Christ are two different personages. Mathew 10:40 as well as many other places, Jesus says, "...he that receive me receive him that sent me." Do you believe he sent himself? We as members of The Church of Jesus Christ believe it was God who sent Jesus Christ and therefore as the Bible shows us, are two separate beings who are one in spirit and mind.
When Jesus enters the Garden of Gethsemane He cries out to his Father (actually Christian scholars of the Bible know that word was mistranslated and he was crying out to his "Daddy" which we, as humans, tend to think of that as much more personal than crying out to a father. God was not just his father but his Daddy) when entering the Garden of Gethsemane. Do you believe that he was crying out to himself? Again members of the Church of Jesus Christ believe what the Bible and Book of Mormon both teach over and over that God the Father and not one in personage. We as members of The Church of Jesus Christ take the Bible literally when it says they are one in spirit and mind, but not one in personage.

Latter-day Saints agree that it is only through Jesus Christ that we receive salvation. The Father, Son, and Holy Ghost are united and desire that we should be also. Jesus Christ is our Savior, but God has also called many prophets to accomplish His work on the Earth. Joseph Smith had one of the most important roles among prophets because it was through him that God restored the Church of Jesus Christ upon the Earth.

The bottom line is that the Mormon God is confined in physicality, which means that his environment must accommodate that physicality including senses and bodily functions such as eating, going to the bathroom, gravity, etc. And since that God is simply an exalted human being, one must ask who HIS God is, where he is, that prior exalted human being, and the one before him, and before him, ad infinitum, AND WHO created the entire existence originally, and who started the process. Not to mention the creation of billions of planets with billions of people to be overseen by singular, individual gods who are exalted humans. Why make such a big deal of the Father in Heaven who is merely an exalted form of the average Joe in this world?

There is no "Mormon God"; there is only true God. God the Father is indeed exalted, and You propose several questions that we cannot hope to answer with our limited understanding. Also, God's power is not so restricted as you suggest. That being said, I have a question for you to consider: When the resurrected Christ went to the Father and then returned to Earth and ate with his disciples and they touched His body, where do you think He went? Wherever the Father was, the environment evidently accommodated Christ's resurrected physical body. May I ask you about your beliefs in general? What is the foundation of your faith?

To what end? He desires that we should have the same eternal joy and peace that He does, which is why we are described as "heirs" in some passages of scripture.

And what does finding God and spreading His word do for us? That's what brings us eternal life. And eternal life is true happiness!! Happiness in the world's view is very different from God's happiness.

Flesh and Bone, CANNOT inherit the Kingdom of Heaven.
1 Corinthians 15:50 Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; neither doth corruption inherit incorruption.
God does NOT hear EVERYONE'S Prayers.
John 9:31 We know that God does not hear sinners; but if anyone is God-fearing and does His will, He hears him.
    God does NOT love EVERYONE.
Romans 9:13 As it is written, Jacob have I loved, but Esau have I hated.
God DOES eventually give up on those that continue to disobey Him.
    Romans 1:28 And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient;

Y’all teach that Heavenly Father was once a man. How is that doctrine biblical?

Do you really know what we teach in the Church of Jesus Christ? Have you asked us, or are you listening to rumor from people who aren't really interested in representing us properly? May I ask you about your beliefs? I see that you seem to believe in the Bible, as we do. Is that correct? Why do you study the Bible?

I like this Bible fan fiction stuff, but CS Lewis did it better

CS Lewis was a man of great understanding, though not a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. To call this truth "Bible fan fiction" is facetious. God's truth merits sincere examination.

"God has a body of flesh and bone"
God is a spirit not a human..

God is far more than a simple human and has a spirit and a glorified body. This has been explained several times in this comments section, so feel free to peruse.
