  • A Round Turn and Two Half Hitches is a great knot for almost any situation when you want to join a rope to an object. One of the main advantages is that it is easy to undo whilst the rope is still under load. This makes it ideal for purposes like mooring up and being towed, as you may not be able to completely slacken the rope when you want to cast off.
This knot is included/required in the RYA Level 1: Start Sailing Course Syllabus.
