      @ahhwe-any7434 5 лет назад +1

      I have guinea pigs. They are beings that you hafta keep up w/ on the daily, daily. I don't understand how ppl think they smell tho. Their whole physical being is like entirely grass - almost. They pee it, poop it, consume it. Their turds look like the same way they went in. I'm not grossed out they're interested by their own poop. They're vegans too. So it's like I don't think they could make me suck even if they tried. I'm not a scientist or anything. But I'll assume they don't carry any deadly diseases/ bacteria. Don't quote me on that. But I pretty much sleep in the same room w/ them all the time. I'm more likely to sneeze before anything else occurs. Due to the grass (maybe their fur. IDK, but their fur is everywhere...). They smell like nothing. They smell like grass.

    Such luxury for the dog; she not only has a dog sized cubby but a great big human sized bed!! I love the coziness of the bed nook, if I was the dog I would chose that spot the majority of the time haha. This whole room is awesome, kudos to you for designing such a neat space AND building it yourself!! Two things I'm kinda amazed/surprised by; the fact that the mice don't jump out (but I suppose they *are* quite intelligent animals and jumping out would kinda be suicidal, so it stands to reason that they don't do it unless they are young and stupid lol) and secondly that the dog is so chill around these small little creatures and vice versa - seems like the mice aren't bothered by a big scary dog? I can understand why the cat is no allowed in this room tho! Anyways, I don't know a lot about mice, only ever cared for them once as part of a school project years ago, but your videos are really interesting and adorable! Plus, I love room tours. And this room is really something special; well done!

    You can take that bottom piece off and carve a slit down the middle of the side as an insert groove for plexi glass. You could even just put a half piece of plexi in, where it only goes midway up. That would look really nice and still allow access while preventing jumping when inserted

    To help brainstorm a more professional looking plexiglass attachment - maybe you could use strong magnets glued to the other side of the wood? So you don't see them from the front when the plexi isn't attached, but they'll (theoretically) work through the wood and hold up the magnets that you've glued or attached to the plexi.

  • @Crezelda

    You can put a rail on the the underside of the cage so the plexiglass ca rest on the rail. On the sides you van make a sort of hook so that the plexiglass can not fall towards you. The rail can You made from wood or iron . The cages or not cages but mouse hotels . When I was a mouse I would live by you. 🐭🐀🐁beautiful

    You could make huge drawers to put under the mouse houses so you can reach the things there. So nice to keep the mice in a room where you are yourself a lot, so they don't get lonely. I have never seen such a thing before, a whole mouse room!?! This must be in the USA. I doubt anyone in Europe has this. They would have one cage for children.

      Best not to unless you have done a lot of research on what all is involved. The biggest danger with breeding is that you can all too easily end up with WAY more mice than you can care for properly and then everyone suffers.

    For the plexiglass issue- would you be able to put wooden “railings” above and below the cage and maybe on one side of it as well and then you can slide in the plexiglass from the open side. I don’t know how flexible the glass would be to that but it’ll help it blend in more with the aesthetic!

    • @CreekValleyCritters
      @CreekValleyCritters  5 лет назад +2

      Easier than regular mouse cages because it is so easy to get to. More expensive though in terms of bedding because the cages are so large, but then you do not have to change it very often, so maybe overall it is cheaper. I just finished cleaning the main mousery and it took me around two hours. But I only have to do a thorough cleaning every two to three weeks, spot cleaning though once or twice a week. I used to have horses, so compared to that, cleaning a mousery takes no time at all lol :)
