Fully upgraded boomstick gives you 5 shots, before it goes into pieces. For the amount of scrap, it's really not worth it. You better off spending those on arrows or bolts that can be of greater use.
But scrap is super cheap tho

100 scrap isn’t hard to get.
Visit 3 to 5 vendors and you can buy 100 or more scrap within a minute.
Do one valuables run in the starting area and you’re getting 4K to 6K in just one run, which takes less than 3 minutes for me to do…..That buys a lot of scrap and while looting valuables I end up getting 60 to 100 scrap during the loot run as well.
Feathers are hard to come by for some reason later in the game, shops only all 3 at a time
eyah but the problem with bolts that you never have enough feathers
They should add air rifles since firearms are absent from this world. It could mix up the projectile formula a little and maintain stealth. Having to maintain the air reservoir, craft your own pellets or slugs would be a dope addition to the game.

The E3 2019 trailer had adien use an air rifle it was called the scorpio to kill a couple renagrades in thier base. I wonder if that weapon is in the launch?
That reminds me alot of that Tikhar rifle from metro exodus. Craft pellets then pump before use and as air goes down damage slowly decreases. This weapon would really suit dl2

You overlooked the best part of the medic set which is parkour damage. I did a full medic build and my dropkicks were near one shoting high level zombies & humans alike. I even used it on the final boss and was doing quarters of their health with a single drop kick.
I wish we could dismantle weapons for scrap like before.

Hi, you don't need to complete the "Observatory " mission to unlock the boomstick, you just need to get to a pk settlement in the middle and east of the central loop.
Yeah, I had the boomstick before that mission.
I currently have it upgraded so I get 3 shots and I think there’s like 1 more upgrade to do.

Just FYI, artifact rank bows show up in the marketplace (In the bazaar anyway) when you check with he trader the first time you rank up to 3, 4, and 5. I assume it happens at later ranks, but I've only hit rank 5. I also did 0 story quests, I've been grinding a ton, and I'm currently on the "meet hakon" story quest, meaning it can be bought regardless of mission quest. The bows do 53, 80, and 100+ damage at 3, 4 an 5 rank.

If I’d only known to give the first water tower to the survivors so the bazaar would still be active. I gave it to the peace keepers and now the bazaar is empty.
But you get access to the water tower PK base, which outside of there being 2 survivor bases compared to just the PK controlled water tower and an extra traded, makes zero difference.
I was a little disappointed there were no proper firearms in a modern zombie game but aside from that it's still a great game
It makes sense since the gunshots attract the zombies but yea I wish we had some guns

The lack of firearms is part of the story. It's set in a post-modern dark age where there's very little in terms of guns and ammunition.
Also.. Bow/crossbow were better anyway. More damage, super easy to use and no unwanted attention.
@Dave Langton Big facts people are forgetting with 95% of the world gone, guns would be scarce and new ones would be nonexistent simply because there won't be any factories producing guns or ammo.
They’ll definitely be in a dlc, wont spoil anything but there’s a short side mission that’ll explain why there’s none in the city
The boomstick fully upgraded does 480 damage, has strong hit reaction, 5 shots, muzzled noise, and still only produces one.
Also….the PK bow is SEMI-AUTOMATIC. Fully automatic means one trigger pull for continuous fire. Semi automatic means one trigger pull for one round.

God I hope they don't feel the need to Nerf the crossbow. It's a special weapon and it should feel like a special weapon. Great video btw 👍.
Itd be nice if more games had adaptive difficulty and ai sane with weapons so if you get a good one its always powerful but doesn't break the game.
from what i have seen medic gives boosts to parkour damage so if you wanna do a dropkick only run its the way to go
Drop kick, vault kick, grapple throw, etc plus parkour stamina reduction sp you don't run out nearly as fast (also applies to paraglider)

Anyone else remember Prototype 1 and 2? How about an event with a new infected that bites you and advances your own infection but gives you a Blacklight/FEV style claw or blade on your left hand ? Maybe with health regen capabilities when upgraded?

Does the crossbows damage go up with your rank or is the damage a set value? If anyone with the crossbow could answer this question it would be very appreciated.

Although if you level up first then collect stuff it ups the initial damage to your level
It scales with your level … as you level up, it’s damage will increase …

You forgot to mention 1 crucial detail: *Medic gear increases parkour attk dmg.*

Knowing techland this stuff will be added later if we ask for it based on what they did with the last game, but we need a couple more ranges items not many just a few.
I suggest:
A normal crossbow, pretty self explanatory
A high powered air rifle, makeshift takes ages to recharge could be similar to the boomstick, but it’s long range and instead of breaking it takes a minute to recharge.
A sling, again pretty self explanatory
And sling shot.
I just think a couple more variety in range weapons without using guns is something needed for fun

Also: Stun Bolts can be picked up after they are shot. Use Survivor Sense to find them after you shoot them. I have 60 ready to go and can recover about 95% of them.
My first time in the fish eye bar area, the vendor had an artefact level bow that I bought, as the bow I’d just gotten from the story was 3 level lower than my current level (level 3 now and I was level 6 at that point).
I think the vendor bow was called “paperclip” or something along those lines.
I’ve also found that each time I level up, either the PK vendor or the fish eye vendor gets a new artefact bow in stock at my new level, so I’ve always had a decent bow as soon as they started appearing.
They make defeating GRE anomalies and volatile farming stupidly easy.
i just got one called "nails" artifact bow rank 6 142 damage 🤩

I had that one as well.
I think it was one of the first few bows I found in a store.
It was one shotting everything except volatiles, goons and demolishes.
Volatiles we’re taking 2 shots, so I used it to farm them at night.
I got into a level 4 chase, then jamp over the wall into the first power plant you come across in the downtown area, as they couldn’t get into the compound, then I was picking them off through the gate.
I ended up getting my 5000 mutation samples in 5 minutes.
All though I know Dying Light is a melee-focused game, but I'm kinda disappointed about the lack of firearms in the sequel. For me, the most fun in Dying Light 1 is to search Police cars to obtain rare firearms. I especially loved the hazard zone missions to search for GRE supply packages. Also, what's the point of the Virals now? Since you essentially don't have gun noises what is loud enough to attract them now?
Been playing the game for a bit and haven't seen any roaming Virals like in the first game they in dark zones and or in buildings but they spawn in if you ignite those red tanks and explode them

What sucks the most is that the main reason I see people say they font want guns in the game is due to game Olay reasons yet the crossbow behaves exactly like how the police rifle did in the first game, just silent and doesn’t attract anyone however.
The stone arrows and stun bolts are the best you can keep collecting them sometimes you collect more than you shoot I'm pretty sure
Which do you find better or more satisfying.... the cross bow or the bow... part of me wants to side with the survivors because I feel like it make navigation very good, and you can get a bow anyway...
I say the bow is extremely satisfying, especially with the charge up and multi shot skill. But the crossbow is, just so powerful.

I loved bows and crossbows in Dying Light, they worked well, you could pick up your arrows and bolts, and it that makes sense. Bows and crossbows in DL2 are just 2 more examples of how they screwed this game up so bad. How in the hell does a headshot not kill ??? How in the hell can you not pick up your arrows and bolts ??? It makes no sense at all.
imo the throwing knives are way easier to use on the fly - max upgraded they do a ton of damage and can lock onto 3 targets.
I have a maxed out boomstick and it has a max of 5 charges

There’s a powerful bow in lawans house (88-damage) plus 80 arrows
You can by a 5lvl legendary bow in shop and it's 30% more powerful.
TBH nothing tops left finger Volga from the dev room one shot voletiles
Btw the crossbow is SEMI auto, you can't just hold trigger and shoot like auto guns.
Idk if this is a glitch but getting the crossbow early lowers the damage. This might be due to leveling scaling down. Mine is at 74dmg while in the video its 171. I think you should avoid getting the crossbow till at least level 4
I got it on level 3, but the crossbow I got shows level 1 and 74 dmg. Is there any way to level it up?
@@whotao144 as far as I know you cannot level up the crossbow. You can increase your damage by equipping ranger gear. Tbh I only use the crossbow on special infected or ones that move in dark zones. Still very strong despite the damage reduction.
I loved the cross bow, but when I did NG+ they took it away, so unless you always do PK, you don't get to keep it. Kind of bummed out about that one. I thought I could keep that, since it unlike other faction percs, you didn't need to be in a certain area to use it.
Crossbow is bugged for 60% of players. I found a level 6 bow at the bottom of the map and it is pretty much the best I can find as a second option. (In case you don't know, crossbow bug happens when game thinks you are higher tier and level up the faction past the point of the level 4 crossbow pack. It never gives you the bolt recipe or the bow itself.)
Have you checked your weapon stash it didn’t give it to me because my inventory was full but it was in my stash
Don't forget the demolisher bug. Getting hit by the demolisher while holding the crossbow has a chance to just randomly make it vanish from your hands, and your world.
Tested it a few times with friends, main problem seems to be the rock it throws.
It's random, so be careful, but don't worry that much.
Love the game but hate the weapon upgrade system compared to the first game.

I was able to buy the boomstick plan after taking the first substation. Gave it to the peacekeepers, and when I came down from the roof the craftmaster had it. playing on PS4.
Everyone says: Oh you get it when you get here, or get there in the story... No, I can tell you guys weapons and blueprints are LEVEL based. I was almost level 4 way before I got to the Central loop, and got a level 3 sport bow in the vendor

The PK crossbow is super op if used with the stun or other upgraded bolts. I stun locked the last boss by shooting him with stun bolts then drop kicking him. That combo basically killed him pretty quick.
What is the best for hear shots for the trophies?
Also is there any reason to not go with the PKs? Sophie really creeped me out and I wanted to betray her but the game wouldn’t allow it after certain time, but I ended up being wrong about Barney. So I was glad to help.
I've maxed the boom stick and its definitely worth it cuz it it does in fact increase the shots but I don't remember if it increases the quantity
Bows/ crossbows don’t drop if you have the bug. There’s a bug that a lot of people are experiencing that no bows/ crossbows drop for some reason.

Dude,I'm completely baffled at the hate. After hearing all the reviews, I was expecting a terrible story, voice acting, boring combat, etc. None of this is true! The story is great so far, voice acting ranges from amazing to great, and combat is fluid, strategic, and fun. If I were you, if start on normal difficulty, the switch to hard when you have some decent gear.
@@Cryptic-cy3xr for real games been great so far I’ve only had one issue and it was my game just suddenly crashed but it only happened once and I’ve had no other major issues
As a big dying light fan I say this game is absolutely amazing but it does have some major game breaking bugs still present and there's alot of random things that just lack variety and are clear copy pastes all over the map

Just tested afking and waiting the 30 mins. Loot spawned and the boxes were still open making it easier to get. Was in range of one too. Have to move your character to stop the menu from pausing though but was watching Netflix while waiting.

Yeah the graphics are really disappointing on PS5. it looks like a PS4 game on performance mode.
Yeah, techland has to improve that in current gen consoles but the PC version with max settings including raytracing looks amazing. You should check Digital Foundry´s video about that

I swear to god that PK cross bow is a cheat code. It pretty much kills anomalies or other harder infected in a quick burst of bolts pretty easily
My crossbow apparently does 171 damage and my bow does 100. But for some reason my bow is actually dealing more damage? Feels like it one or two hits most things but crossbow takes like 4-5 shots
That crossbow is NOT FULLY AUTOMATIC. Fully automatic weapon means that when the trigger is pushed it continues to shoot until there is no more ammo. It's simply AUTOMATIC, not fully.
So does the crossbow damage scale with your level? Or does the damage stay at wherever it is when you get it?

Kinda a lazy design choice in my opinion and expect it to definitely change soon.
I don't think they have forgotten, the problem is to maintain it.
Guns are loud and can attract alot of problems to you, of course you could fix that with suppressors and the like.
The problem is to maintain a constant stream of ammunition. They propably don't have a lot of people that know how to make any sort of gunpowder or blackpowder, so they can't really make a lot of guns.
The few people who did know are probably dead.
I'm not entirely happy about the lack of firearms, but in the setting and feel they are trying to make, it makes atleast a bit of sense. They are going for a "zombie dark age" kinda schtick it would seem.
There's a side mission where they talk about it. The guns were all confiscated by the military.

Why would it be lazy and not the opposite? They could have easily copy the guns from the first game into this.
I wouldn’t say all people forget how to make guns but the small amounts of gunsmith that still survive after harran and this aren’t gonna be mass producing or make anything when there is no equipment/resources available.
Resources are hard to come by. Not to mention the lack of knowledge and no schooling. Of course people are not going to know how to make bullets or a gun especially with small amount of resources that they have.
You should be able to pickup arrows that you fire.
i got a glitch where i didnt get the crossbow, i was playing with my friend and he was hosting the world so that maybe had something to do with it, i opened a ticket with techland and am waiting for their response
I am pretty much one shooting most mobs with my artifact bow (headshots), very handy in dark zones.
It's actually insane how strong Ranger is right now, I love it. Yes, it takes some investment but at this point I can full-wipe nearly everything from stealth.
I need to know how you got the city alignment even on both sides. I want the crossbow and the game screwed me out of it.
