I'm 13 years old. Everytime I hear this song I cry... here is the reason why. I am a very messed up kid, my parents were going through a divorce a couple years after I was born. The divorce was finalized on Feburary 13, 2018. Ever sense then I have been hospitalized more than 4 times. This song is what had been keeping me alive. I never believed in God, Jesus, The Holy Spirit, until my mom had almost died. I had cried and cried for days. Then she came home and her first word to me was "Cescefire" at first I was confused, but then I realized she was being abused... I thank the lord that she is alive today❤
Praise the living God, Amber! He has favoured you, he has seen you suffering and he has loved you back to life. There is no reason to doubt him anymore, my sister. God is greater than our problems combined. I mean, after all, He led the Israelites to the land of milk and honey using a man who was once a prince, that same man who had a stutter, the same man who at birth had to be a secret. Your story is not over, it's just started! God is the Author, he makes the best story. Remember, if you live to tell this story, God still has a plan for you. My best friend had cancer and almost died. She made it through because of this song. I can't thank you enough for the face she's still alive. Since was doing chemo, she couldn't speak well for a week. The only words she could say were Ceasefire and Amen.

You know what did work, though? What worked was when Jesus - the Lamb of God who takes away the sins of the world - looked at her and, knowing all that she had done, knowing all of her sins, all of her flaws, all of her mistakes, said, "I will not condemn you. Go, and sin no more."
He didn't point His finger at her. He loved her, and He defended her against the "righteous" fingers, and the literal stones that represent, for us, the hateful things we say to people who are lost.

I met this band when I was a little child, and I fell in love with all their songs, because they were unique. After a long time, I drifted away from God, forgetting all these wonderful songs. I always went to church anyway, the problem was that I didn't have a relationship with God. Then I went to the Summer Camp of my Church (Word of Grace Palermo PDG- Parola della Grazia Palermo PDG) (I'm Italian) and God manifested himself in my life in a supernatural way. I felt it enter my heart. It was beautiful and now I will never leave my God 👑❤️🥺. And after a few years I found this song again and I remembered Dor King and Country, I don't know how I could forget it! I was surprised by myself !! 😢😭 Because I didn't hear these songs anymore. But now I always hear these songs❤️ Thank you God

If you want to hear me explain, you can read further, if not, you can ignore my reply. Also I know that your comment was posted 4 years ago, but I felt compelled to try to explain a bit, hope you don't mind.
In short, sin was brought into the world and we could no longer be free from it. In the past we had to offer sacrifices to God to be forgiven, but it wasnt foolproof. God sent down his only son to live the perfect sinless life we never could and he died for our sins. For sacrifices of the past, they brought lambs without blemish, innocent lambs, and this is where the metaphor comes in. If you know, Jesus also prayed to God asking if he could not go through it, but also said may his will be done. He wasn't immortal, as he took on our flesh. He died but then rose again after 3 days and conquered death and sin. No longer do we have to sacrifice lambs to be temporarily forgiven, but if we pronounce Jesus as our savior, we can come to God through his lens (when sin was introduced, men could no longer have a relationship (friendship) with God, and only the highest of priests can come into his presence). Also, there was no way into Heaven then either, because at the end of the day we were still stained with sin. Now, we can rejoice and have a relationship with our heavenly father once again because of his son's sacrifice, and we are granted salvation and grace for our sins.
I was going to go much deeper until i accidentally deleted what I wrote, I hope this helped you understand. I can see where the whole "toxic" idea comes from, especially with toxic people themselves, but to each their own. Have a great day/night :)

Unless we have stern words and actions against sin in both our lives and the lives of others then we do not know God as we should. He hates sin, so much so that most will be obliterated, if stern words can pivot their path towards righteousness then this is truly love.

Please be mindful ... there are also others who have been peacefully protesting in recent years in response to racial injustice - ie Colin Kaepernick and those who choose to bend the knee - who have been negatively sanctioned and disregarded. Even their peaceful, silent protests were deemed too loud...Please pray for healing, for others to accept Jesus as savior, and vote for policies and officials which promote equality.

My cousin's mother was diagnosed with SLE after a blood test. Frantic, my eldest cousin texted all and everyone she knew to pray for her. After taking another test, her levels became normal again and not SLE anymore!! After 8 and a half very long years of infertility, praying and crying my heart out. My husband and I learned we were expecting twins! We found out the day before Mother's day!
We celebrated our foster child's birthday in the park a month later and I picked her up off a picnic table to put her feet on the ground. I began bleeding. I have never been so scared! It was quite a bit. I just wailed in the bathroom and My husband said "We have to choose to believe God will protect them!" We'd had so many losses over the years, including two sets of twins. I rushed to my doctor and on the way I cried and played this song and " Burn the Ships" again and again, singing until I was hoarse. When I got to the office and went in she found both little heartbeats and said they were so strong and they sounded active!
Christmas Eve that year we welcomed two beautiful perfectly healthy boys! They will be a year old this Christmas Eve! He gave us though we sowed in tears we reaped with shouts of joy! I sing King and Country music to them all the time and they dance and make the most joyful noises to it! ❤ I wish you could see my grateful heart! Thank you so so much! You'll never know what this did for my heart in my time of pain.

For King & Country has done it again! Every time I think I've picked my new favorite song they release another. This happened with "Shoulders", "Fix My Eyes", "Oh God Forgive Us", "Ceasefire", "Little Drummer Boy"-Which I saw in concert!-, "O God Forgive Us", "Pioneers", "Joy", "Amen," and "God Only Knows". I love the way their sincere desire to praise God and share his word through song stands at the forefront of everything they do. As someone who has sang solos in church since he was 16 (I'm turning 40 this October by the way--what better present than having the opportunity to be on stage with these guys!?!) and who is currently hard at work co-authoring exciting and action-packed books intended to reach the lost with wholesome Christian values snuck in I can only pray that I one day I’m able to make a similar impact for the Lord. My parents always reminded me that my anger would hit me back hard and one night I layed in bed thinking 💭 of what my life was then started to cry because I noticed my anger was growing and satan was trying to take over my soul ,my mind ,my.... heart. He was trying to corrupt my soul and that’s when God put a message in my in my head to change so that’s what I did . Next morning I felt better than ever because I I trusted and put my faith in God

Therefore, their minds are conditioned to question everything this world has to offer including “THY POWER THROUGHOUT THE UNIVERSE DISPLAYED.” They have accepted the heavy burden of dealing with the troubles of this life and seek to know another way, YOU THE GREAT COMFORTER TO ALL who did receive YOU as their personal SAVIOR. Still, YOU have shown them NEW MERCY every day with each thought they make and each breath they take.
Unfortunately, like the prodigal son, we are all guilty of wandering far from YOU LORD because the negative experiences of our lives tend to build roadblocks to the TRUTH. As time marches on, JESUS CHRIST HELP them to identify the way, truth, and eternal life (that is YOU). Since to know and follow your SPIRIT is more exciting than any 007 movies, and YOU DELIGHT MAKING the ordinary into extraordinary. As time marches on, JESUS CHRIST MAKE them understand that there is no way around YOUR TRUTH, and that there is something about YOUR NAME. As time marches on, JESUS CHRIST HELP them defeat in their minds what is false in YOUR EYES.

Additionally, THE KING OF KINGS is needed in their hearts to learn how to expand their capacity to love for YOU are LOVE in any language. 🥰 Once they learn to speak it with boldness through YOUR WONDERFUL COUNSELING all the world will hear, and know that LOVE is the language of their hearts. So LORD, KEEP KNOCKING on their door until they let YOU in to know hardships and struggles will end with a GREAT CELEBRATION WITH YOU. 🥰🙌
If one believes faith cannot be forced, YOU WILL GIVE that individual over to the stubborn heart to follow own counsel which will surely fail him or her to the extent that the punishment will last forever found in Psalms 81 NIV. Given this, I pray that YOU WILL MAKE that person see that this feeling is wasted for a world in which we become strangers as we age, gives us thrills instead of peace, aims to solve a problem but creates another, and unrest surges with each passing generation. Shed some light into their broken hearts for YOU ARE THE GREAT JEHOVAH, THE GOD THAT HEALETH thee.
Lastly, LORD when they call on YOU in earnest prayer to come into their hearts to be born again (repentance manifesting itself in a changed life), I pray that YOU WILL GIVE them the blessed assurance of their salvation because nothing breaks YOUR HEART, or tears YOU apart like when they cry from the trials of the devil who comes to slander, falsely accuse, steal, kill & destroy. Only by drawing nearer to YOU LORD will put them on a path to a glorious one way trip winding upward to YOU where pain is not welcome because the heart will never break anymore. For ONLY YOU UNDERSTANDS our tears since YOU LOOK at the heart, while humans look at the flesh.
O LOVE that will not let them go. When they don't have the strength to try, and have cried all they can cry hear their hearts that need YOU more today than yesterday.
