The world's most spectacular light show, Catatmbo Lightning or in Spanish "Relampago de Catatumbo" - is produced by the clash of air masses. Th heat from Maracaibo and the chilly Andean air hit each other and touch of the daily (or nightly) lightning strikes.

Hello Elizabeth! Thank you very much for your comment. The explanation you give about this phenomenon is very true. The collision of the cold Andean air against the warm Caribbean air over Lake Maracaibo is part of the key. The Andes precisely branch in two and surround a good part of the lake, which we could illustrate with a war tactic where one side corners the other side, making the collision of air masses inevitable, but obviously the conditions in which they are are not enough. The mountains and valleys or geographic depressions are arranged so that similar formations could be found in other parts of the world. Other factors that are not 100% scientifically understood but that we know have to do with the concentrations of certain elements that make up the composition of the subsoil of the lake, gases, oil, humidity, ammonia, etc. also have a lot of influence. that in some way are added as additional ingredients to that collision of air masses and that surely influence the electromagnetic excitation of those masses. Definitely a rare spectacle in the world. The fact that you have given us a good comment even though our humble video is in Spanish and not in your native language is a compliment to our channel. A hug and many blessings to you and your entire family. Thanks Elizabeth!

Mas sabia que a região que cai mais raios no mundo não é catatumbo, é perto, é no Pará, estado brasileiro
