Mangena stated in his testimony he used the same Black Talon ammunition and the same type of door (but the door was not as tall) as the ones used/involved in the shooting when he did his experiments. I would certainly defer to Capt. Mangena's testimony, particularly about the sequence of shots and wounds. His experiments took absolutely everything into account. I found him to be very professional, very concise and very thorough. Although he didn't take into account any splintering, I believe in terms of shot/wound sequence, splintering would be entirely irrelevant in determining Reeva's proximity to the door. Especially because of the dimensions of the toilet... I believe one would expect the victim to be struck with splintering wherever she was located in the toilet.
He knows who is paying his fee and that's all that matters to him as long as he remains within the realm of professional credibility, something Mr Dixon did not have.
This Prof is really out of touch. You can't use old articles where old technology was used to gain limited knowledge when newer better articles that used more advanced technology to prove it's findings are available. Also using a textbook to back up your statements is old methodology it's now considered 3rd grade knowledge. I am doing a Masters and have been repeatedly told that textbooks are old articles of studies published in the last 10 years or earlier are more accurate.

Any witnesses experts are allowed to sit in the court as they present their knowledge and expertise on their own field; witnesses, on the other hand, who will give their testimony about incriminated event itself are in different position as they must not be influenced by others.

It's as though he has had either done some treatment to his face or has had facelift or something. The reason why i have noticed this is because if your life was on the line, you'vehad all the skeleton's in your closet exposed to the world & the very fact that you are anticipating taking the stand which will be the most significant part of the case & everything riding on it (& also the fact you will be under cross examination) would you look better, even to the point of lookingat least 10 yrs youngeror would your face show the physical signs of tireness, stress & as though you had put on at least ten years?? Maybe he thinks that by looking better the opinion of the public would think better of him or maybe that the judge might give him the benefitof the doubt (It's Psychology 101 that people that are better looking get more positive social attention & have more favourable opinions from others than notso attractive people). I wonder if he is using this tactic? or it could be just my imagination......
personally, i believe that ABC and D bullet holes are at a similar height and that the only way they couldv hit her in such different positions in the space of the witness' so called "4 seconds", is if she was already sitting down. its funny that the witness says everything to match the defense case - he is stressing she wouldnt have time to scream if they were in the space of 4 seconds, he is stressing she was in a standing position. why is he stressing these things? does anyone know if those bullet holes were analysed to check the angle of the cylinders created in the door by the bullets? then we'd know how he had aimed
