좌우가 갈라진 윗옷의 형태는 고대에서 부터 존재했던 한민족의 복식형태입니다. 고조선(부여)부터 열국(고구려,백제,신라,가야,옥저,동예...수많은 고조선에서 떨어져나온 소국들)들까지 다 동일양식입니다. 그것이 고려와 조선을 거쳐 현재까지 그 형태를 유지하고있습니다. 원래 형태는 허리에서 허리띠나 끈으로 묶는 방식이었습니다.(삼국시대때 다 이 형태였죠), 그러다 끈이 옷에 부착되는 방식이 창안됩니다. 옷고름의 등장이죠. 그리고 여성복은 조선중기를 거쳐 후기로 가면서 저고리 길이가 짧아졌죠. 그리고 시기에 따라 철릭등 다양한 복식이 등장합니다. 궁궐에서 남자 관료들이 입는 목에만 구멍 뚫린 방식은 신라가 삼국통일을 위해 당나라를 끌어올때 당의 복식도 가져와서 당의 비위를 맞춰줬는데, 그때부터 그 형태가 쓰이기 시작했습니다. 그래서 그옷은 당복이라고도 부릅니다. 그런 형태가 원래 지나족이 입던 옷형태입니다. 당태종의 옷을 보면 알수있죠 차이나에서 한푸라면서 좌우 갈라진 윗옷을(삼국시대때 복식) 자기꺼라고 주장하는데, 그건 우리 복식이 차이나 쪽으로 흘러들어간것으로 봐야할겁니다. 차이나의 고문서엔 좌우로 나뉜 윗옷을 분명하게 자신의 복식이 아닌 동이(옛 우리 선조를 지나족이 부를때 쓴 명칭)의 복식형태라서 차이를 두는 기록이 있습니다. 일본은 대부분의 문화양식이 가야,백제 및 삼국의 문화가 들어가서 형성된것입니다. 문화의 주체세력과 지도층이 한반도의 사람들이 건너가서 권력과 문화를 잡았기 때문이죠. 일본 신사에서 행사때 입는 복식을 보면 분명하게 알수있는데, 삼국시대때 우리가 입던 복식형태와 관모(모자)의 형태가 약간 변형되었을뿐 원형이 간직되어있죠. 기모노는 일본에 건너간 삼국복식이 고립되면서 그들만의 양식으로 변화하게된것으로 볼수있을겁니다. 우리 삼국의 복식이 건너가기전 왜의 복식은 천을 몸에 두르는 형태였지요. 기록화에 평민 천민들이 입었던 형태, 4~5세기정도엔 왜의 사신도 그런 복식이었습니다. 양나라의 기록화에 모습이 그려져있죠. 오랜기간 이런 형태가 일본의 평민 천민의 복식이었습니다. 우리와 닮은 복식은 한반도에서 일본으로 건너가서 지도층으로 기반을 잡은 소수의 사람들이 입었다고 볼수있을겁니다. 현재 일본 전통복식은 그것만 말하고있죠. 원래 왜의 전통복식인 천을 두르고 맨발로 다니는건 부끄러운지 언급도 않고있죠.
