    The blue collar theme is fun! KO aren't just another warrior culture, but tradesmen who create and build as much as the bomb and destroy. I like that the only 'fantastic' element to them is the nature of their technology (and the fact they are dwarfs), everything else is easily relatable, especially to a tradesman like myself! Great video!

    Loving the Overlords week. Loved the Fyreslayers week. I think having a Dispossessed Battletome could work if you wan to expand the Duardin race. Maybe GW could focus on a whole different aspect of the Duardin. KO are all about the Machines in the sky, Fyreslayers are all about the naked Slayers. Maybe Dispossessed could focus on Runes, Miners & Hammerers/Longbeards.
    Would also love to see a dedicated Chaos Duardin Battletome.

    I’d have to agree with you on the engineers. As some one who sails (I don’t own a boat I just work for those that do) I know ships are quite an investment for a society that’s so centered around money it world make since for them to protect their investments

    If skywardens could drop mines when hitching a ride from skyvessels when they fly high out of combat (counting as a retreat), then they would definitely be cooler than endrinriggers.

    I’m digging your content as usual, but I miss how you showed the units at the top of sections covering different units like in the Nighthaunt Week videos.
    It’s interesting to learn the reason behind the Overlords’ heavy armor. The Grundstock Thunderers’ weapon options all seem awesome and devastating and would lead to lots of indecision on what to equip ‘em with. The banner as a resume is wonderfully clever, combining the tradition of duardin and unit type in general. Skyriggers remind me a lot of an astronaut on a spacewalk to repair their station but with all their repair gear weaponized. I prefer the Engineriggers as well.
    The Kharadron Overlords provide a really interesting template for what you can do with dwarves in a post-medieval fantasy and a lot of their concepts are reconceptualized in such a cool way. I can’t wait what to see what their upcoming Underworlds warband looks like.

      fair criticism :) I will get back to putting units up on the screen when I talk about them. It's move-into-the-new-place weekend so it was sort of a rush job lol.

      2+Tough Oh, I understand editing even something simple like this can be more time-consuming than you think. However, do you also have the luxury of trimming misspeaks out of the audio? I noticed one in this video. I still love your stuff and understand your current circumstances; these are mostly going forward. Luetin09 has some really well-produced Warhammer 40K content done in your similar style; perhaps compare and contrast?

      their suits are heavy because of the power source they have, which powers two vital functions. First is their boots are magnetic so they can walk on the metal decks in dangerous windy conditions and not be blown off the side.
      The second is power for the air filtration system. Aethergold is invisible and can only be smelled, so its probably safer for them to be protected all the time from that and other harmful gasses in the clouds of Chamon, where you get all sorts of gas form metals as well. I like to imagine the arkanauts scrubbing their helmets clean of stuff they pick up on them after voyages.
      Even though the suits are heavy they dont weight them down because duardin are strong and the suits are powered by aethergold.

    One correction. Aethershot rifles and pistols that the KO use dont suck aethergold from the air and shoot it at the enemy, but rather have a small portion of aethergold in the magazine. This is shot out in gas form but it solidifies mid flight into a massive impaling spike of gold, must be really painful. I imagine that they go after the battle and collect the ammunition and smelt it down for later use!

    For the life of me, I still can't see the point of Skywardens. MW on a 6 to a flying unit? Oh-kay... The saws are good. The saw make the Endrinriggers the only viable melee unit in the whole line up plus you get 3 attacks and extra 3" on the stock guns. Thunderers can be a solid shooting unit if you take the all rifles (or maybe a fumigator for a bit of extra protection when you get charged in). The rest of the specialist guns are a sad joke, but at 100 points, when you compare it to a 5 Wounds Hero, they are a decent support. Full rifle unit has 12 Attacks and Keep Your Distance will work for you if in Combat Phase your opponent doesn't swing at them first. Happened to me once and it worked. Arkanaut Company, in it's current form and as the only Battleline option are a shambles. Yes, yes, Skyhooks work but you NEED to pair them with a Khemist, which pushes a 120 points unit to 280. And after first charge and a Battleshock (without buffs/negation of course), you're lucky to carry half of that unit into the following round.Swing back in melee and you'll get a wound out of it. That's against a non-elite unit. Have 3 Kurnoth Hunters charging in and you might as well take them off the table and save the time on rolling.

      Arkanauts are great. Sure, minimum sized units are expensive to run but if you take them in 20 or even 30 man units they get quite good (and even better when playing Barak Urbaz where you can get two buffs for one).
      Or play them in a Barak-Mhonar force and switch to the grudge trait (or use the command trait). Recently I had a game against Sylvaneth and the Arkanaut pistols killed Alarielle almost completely on there own.

    • @ClockworkBananaMoon
      @ClockworkBananaMoon 6 лет назад

      @@GecktronLP So, a 30 Arkanaut (and I agree, that makes them work) but where do you get the other two Battlelines? Ah, yes, more AC, by which time there are hardly any points left for anything else. With this army you either go Ships. Ships! SHIPS!!! and get tabled by round three, or spam the table with AC+Khemist units and have to leave all the cool stuff behind. Don't get me wrong, by now I have around 4000 points of KO and can't stop myself from buying more. But they do need fixing.

    • @GecktronLP
      @GecktronLP 6 лет назад

      @@ClockworkBananaMoon You can take one big unit of skyhook arkanauts and use one 10 man unit with sky pikes or volley guns as tax/independent units that don't need a khemist buff.
      You dont have to go all the way with either strategy. Mixing one or two ships with arkanaut and endrinriggers support works quite well, in my experience.
      I have 5K points myself and I agree they could use a new battletome but they are still fun to play and not too weak.
