Great tips guys. Totally agree with having great content isn't enough if you can't get it in front of people which is probably the hardest part of the whole puzzle.
7 tips: 1. thumbnails. 2. title 3. contents match thumbnail and title 4. content plan 5. engage your viewers 6. call to action 7. distribution strategy thanks!
Dippy Hey Derral! I just recently made a newer youtube channel talking sports. If you wouldn't mind can you please check it out and let me know how I can improve on my videos. Thank You.
I've done all your tips and you've helped my channel grow! 2 of my videos actually hit more than 10k views and you've helped me get atleast 300+ sub in a short amount of time. Not to mention that my channel is still growing everyday! Thank you!!!
Ooh, i like Tim's fresh shave haha. I typed that BEFORE you mentioned it! So funny! Love all of your points-especially thinking about what can I do at a minute and a half to keep them engaged.
Great video guys, I am subbed to both of you guys and have been for a couple of years. Love all the tips and tricks you do. Cheers for the continued efforts Tony
I follow the both of you, and most of your stuff is really informative. I got a question though, has youtube really changed its settings off late? Like all your subscribers not getting to see your videos/get notifications about them, views on the video getting stuck for like a couple of days? and then showing up, views on the video not showing up as much as it used to previously, does the offline video viewing have anything to do with this? It would be so great if you could answer and help out. I have about 9k subs currently and im oh so confused about how the algorithms work on here
Clean shaven has my vote. :) Ric is shaving now that no shave November is over lol Thank God. My poor face has looked like it has been attacked by a cactus lol :) Awesome tips. Thank you. Needed them. Melody :)
I know I'm not them or anything, but I do watch some art channels. Maybe do tutorials too. So that way your teaching them how to draw something, and they won't skip through the video often.
Artist modro Hi, I agree about doing the tutorials. I began uploading in August to my art channel. I have done a variety of styles of video of different lengths. The most watched ones are quite long tutorials. I also think having a few short videos helps too with your audience retention. Good luck with your channel ☺
Artist modro I just had a look at your last video, nice work. What Tim said about getting audience attention in the first few seconds might help. I find it difficult using pencil on video, as it really dosn't show up to the camera, perhaps that is why you think people are skipping forward to where they can really see the drawing.
Also I watch this art youtuber named Valarie and her channel is Art a la Carte and she uses colored pencils that are made for sketching w/ but can erase too. She says she uses them b/c it's easier to have them show up on camera
good video. Who knows whats going to happen but I'm glad your attacking this topic and offering us the best advice to continue to grow. Also good use of the text of each point to aid visual learners
Both of you are my favorites!! Good to see you together. Very helpful video as always. It's my tendency to forget things and you are always there to remind that. Plus it's boosting the morale of pushing me forward. Thanks again
Thanks for the tips. Recently in our videos I've noticed that some stories are dragging so it was nice to hear that affirmed and also get tips on how to better it! Thanks!
derral and tim, you both are just awesome, they way you both comunicate and give the tips and tricks, and everything you does in each videos is quite different from the older one, btw thanks to both of you for such an entertaining way to explain everything..
Thanks so much for all the information you guys provide. I watch both of your channels and i try my best to implement them on my channel. I spend a lot of time and put forth so much effort and hours upon hours everyday trying to get my channel to grow. I have been actively working on my channel for the past 3 or so months and am barely over 200 subs. Maybe im doing something wrong, maybe it's a small thing, maybe it's my content i'm not sure. I'll keep at it and hope one day it takes off! Thanks again to both of you for all your wisdom and knowledge.
The first video I watched as I started my channel was a collaboration by these two guys. I think it was titled "How to grow channel with 0 subscribers?" or something similar. Great guys. Thank you very much for sharing the tips with the rest of us.
I want to apply these tips, but I was wondering if these can be used on basic cover videos as well. Thanks for all the tips! I've learned a lot from your videos!
I am doing everything.... But still ppl who started after me have surpassed me... It's depressing.... Super depressing especially when I know my content is better & the videos are shorter too.... 😢😢😢😢
I have this question. I do understand it's possible to create multiple channels, but if the main language of the channel is set to say "hindi" or say "spanish" , will it have an impact on the reach based on the geography .?
Good video Derral. Could you record while you upload a video and show what to add and what to mark/unmark in the upload page? Im always a little bit confused when I do that. Keep on rocking man :)
Great tips guys, I've been trying my best to follow all of these tips but it doesn't seem to be working. Maybe it's me not trying hard enough but some answers are needed, thanks.
Thanks for the tips. Learning how to edit and make my vids shorter and cut out redundancy and un-needed info and go straight to (transitions) the point
MotorSport & Dream Cars I think your channel looks very professional. When did you start uploading your videos? I have a similar number of subscribers to you and I began uploading regularly at the end of August. I think I just need more patience, as my channel is growing steadily.
I have a music channel and I feel like the creativity for my titles are limited. I'm not sure how to stand out with my titles and even my thumnails, and as far as keeping people on for longer, I do an intro and I have been trying to apply all the tips I've heard from you guys but my average view time is around 1:30 my videos are around 3-4 min long usually. I have recently learned 7 to 16 minutes is the "sweet spot" so I was going to try and start doing an intro, the song and a stick around "vlog" type thing for the end to stretch the time. I've been brainstorming ideas. For my thumbnail, I use a screen shot from my video and I've recently been making the lettering yellow, red and white. I have 500 subscribers but I'm still only trafficking around 150 to 160 views per video. How do people get so many more views? I have tube buddy and so I look at people's tags with similar content to mine and even the tags they use are the "bad tags" but they have a ton of views, so that can be frustrating and their thumnails is usually the youtube generated one. Do you have any creative suggestions for musicians to use for titles besides "Original song", "cover song"? And what are "Good thumnails" I need a tutorial on an AMAZING THUMBNAIL technique. And I don't even know how to do a "click bait" even a "true to the view" click bait. Thanks for all your helpful videos. I like you're goatee, but you also look nice without it. :)
I'd imagine getting to do content creation full-time is a massive first step and then from there, having a small team, like Tim does, lets you scale your time. A lot of these things are like spinning plates, you improve in one aspect and then another... and then you realize that that first plate's slowed down (i.e. you've gotten better and that thing you used to do isn't good enough anymore), and you have to go back to it... and so on and so on. -Ryan
Very helpful tips, especially distribution. Now I am going to go watch the collab video with Tim :) Oh, and I think Tim looks better without the goatee :)
Hey Derral. If you have older videos posted, is it worth the time to go back and change up the thumbnails and titles, or should we just apply these tips moving forward with new videos?
Thanks for the tips! I'm struggling w/ effective titles. I have a retro cooking channel and wondering what else to put in the title other than the name of the recipe.
I was looking at your tubebuddy checklist, and I saw that you send an email out to subscribers when you upload. How do you do this? "Send out email to your list," Is this just for websites?
I have several ways I do that... I use infusionsoft and constant contact. I do not send a blanket email out to everyone... I have my email list segmented so that I have higher open rates!
Hello Mr Derral Eves thank you so much for uploading this video I have one question sir can you please tell me where you tube stores all the data and videos because the whole world is watching you tube can you tell me where you tube stores all the data thank you and god bless you
Bring back the Goatee!!! Also I love both your channels, and try to watch all the vids and watch live (when its not the middle of the night for me) I figure that my slow growth is due to the niche nature of my vids, I really enjoy making them, and they are boosting my business and I feel that just needs to be enough... and not get stuck in the roller coaster that is vanity numbers...
Another good idea is to create list videos, like "3 ideas" or " 5 questions" or "7 ways", these type of videos seem to have higher audience retention.
Experimental Fun good idea actually!!
Good idea...I will try that..I'll have to brainstorm some lists!
Great tips guys. Totally agree with having great content isn't enough if you can't get it in front of people which is probably the hardest part of the whole puzzle.
Love all your videos!!!! So helpful
I vote no goatee! Making out with my wife is so much better now! Plus, there's no leftover soup getting stuck on my face for a late night snack.
hahahah
Video Creators 😁 lol
Glad you decided to not grow that soup saver for later. 😎🌈
7 tips:
1. thumbnails.
2. title
3. contents match thumbnail and title
4. content plan
5. engage your viewers
6. call to action
7. distribution strategy
thanks!
Thanks for the Tips, i'll try it on my Channel. It's really hard to get views when you didn't get much Attention. Being an small youtuber is hard 😂
Dippy well just keep going :) you can do it
Dippy Hey Derral! I just recently made a newer youtube channel talking sports. If you wouldn't mind can you please check it out and let me know how I can improve on my videos. Thank You.
TGregs I think your are on a good way, Look at your subs and views :D Good Job dude
Dippy thanks dude!
Yup.. I know how you feel 🙄😂
I've done all your tips and you've helped my channel grow! 2 of my videos actually hit more than 10k views and you've helped me get atleast 300+ sub in a short amount of time. Not to mention that my channel is still growing everyday! Thank you!!!
Two of my favorite RUclips gurus in the same video!
NICE!!!!! Glad to hear that!!!
Videoneuvos ikr I love them
Ooh, i like Tim's fresh shave haha. I typed that BEFORE you mentioned it! So funny! Love all of your points-especially thinking about what can I do at a minute and a half to keep them engaged.
Great video guys, I am subbed to both of you guys and have been for a couple of years. Love all the tips and tricks you do. Cheers for the continued efforts
Tony
Thanks for the sub and always watching Tony!
I'll try them for my channel
I follow the both of you, and most of your stuff is really informative. I got a question though, has youtube really changed its settings off late? It would be so great if you could answer and help out. I have about 9k subs currently and im oh so confused about how the algorithms work on here
I always use a relevant title and tags on all of my RUclips videos. I also post comments like in this one to attract subscribers and viewers.
Goatee Tim > Shaved Tim
YESSSS!!!!!
IKR
3:52 I got scared when you started talking behind my back lol :)
Clean shaven has my vote. :) Ric is shaving now that no shave November is over lol Thank God. My poor face has looked like it has been attacked by a cactus lol :) Awesome tips. Thank you. Needed them. Melody :)
Maybe I should grow a beard! :)
Derral Eves I think i went the opposite way when Tim started shaving. But i'm not allowed a goatee... So says the other half.
Derral Eves please respond can u please shout me out
Derral Eves No. Don't cover up your face. :) We like the way you are :) lol Melody
I will be doing another Subscriber Shoutout this month!
Thank You So Much for the guidance... You both are awesome... Subscribed ! :)
Do you have any tips for art channels? I see often that people just click on art/drawing vids and then skip to the end to see the finished artwork.
I see the same thing too. I think doing narrated speed drawings where you talk about stuff, or how you did the drawing, could solve this problem
good video. Who knows whats going to happen but I'm glad your attacking this topic and offering us the best advice to continue to grow. Also good use of the text of each point to aid visual learners
THANK YOU
Both of you are my favorites!! Good to see you together. Very helpful video as always. It's my tendency to forget things and you are always there to remind that. Plus it's boosting the morale of pushing me forward. Thanks again
Two huge youtube gurus in one video, great! Love it. I wish i had time to apply all i learn from you two.
Got to love Tim! We have fun together!
Thank You guys!! This was so helpful. I really needed to hear these tips.. now all I have to do is Utilize them 😐🤗
Thanks for the tips. Recently in our videos I've noticed that some stories are dragging so it was nice to hear that affirmed and also get tips on how to better it! Thanks!
Power team activate!!!! Tim clean shaven totally!!!! I kind of want to see Derral with a goatee though.
👍
Cool! Really helpful! Great job! I'll try to use these tips! I think it's important to have fun when making videos!
Thank you for Tip 7, I feel that is my biggest struggle for my style on content
derral and tim, you both are just awesome, they way you both comunicate and give the tips and tricks, and everything you does in each videos is quite different from the older one, btw thanks to both of you for such an entertaining way to explain everything..
You guys are great, thanks for all your hard work and effort. I will be trying these tips.
Super helpfull Derral! Like always!! You've helped me a lot.
Thanks for the nice comment! Looks like your instagram is blowing up! :)
You are welcome!! And thank you for checking out my instagram😁😁
Thanks for another video.
you're welcome
All good tips guys! I vote for the goatee.
Awesome as always!! love tims face!🎀🎀🎀🎀🌸🎀🌸
Engaging in the first few seconds is probably the part I struggle with the most. Definitely going to work on that moving forward.
Great tips guys! We are doing our best to grow our channel by doing everything that we learnt from You two!
Much needed video for me...Nice tips will follow all 7 of them...thank you
good to see you two guys together again! The meeting of the minds! LOL 7:15 "check out Tim's video IT'S ACTUALLY PRETTY GOOD" LOL
Thanks so much for all the information you guys provide. I watch both of your channels and i try my best to implement them on my channel. I want to apply these tips, but I was wondering if these can be used on basic cover videos as well. Thanks for all the tips! I've learned a lot from your videos!
Thanks for the tip! I got to get creative for some of those tips to work in my niche, but hey it can be something great! Thanks for sharing!
So thankful for Derral! Who else is??
I am doing everything.... But still ppl who started after me have surpassed me... It's depressing.... Super depressing especially when I know my content is better & the videos are shorter too.... 😢😢😢😢
Keep it up. It's about other people's middle and end to our journey.
I have this question. I do understand it's possible to create multiple channels, but if the main language of the channel is set to say "hindi" or say "spanish" , will it have an impact on the reach based on the geography .?
Basic tips that we all seem to forget, good reminders! Thank you.
My two RUclips heroes in one video! Woohoo!!! :)

I love when you two collab. You can feel the positive vibes :)

Good video Derral. Could you record while you upload a video and show what to add and what to mark/unmark in the upload page? Im always a little bit confused when I do that. Keep on rocking man :)
Thanks for the tips. I guess we'll try them and see what comes of it!!!
Great video and advice you two. It is hard to get noticed on RUclips nowadays if you are new so this video will come in handy for new RUclipsrs.
Great tips guys, I've been trying my best to follow all of these tips but it doesn't seem to be working. Maybe it's me not trying hard enough but some answers are needed, thanks.
Good useful video👊 I'm trying to improve the quality of my content at the moment hoping more people will watch and enjoy what I put out
Thanks for the tips. Learning how to edit and make my vids shorter and cut out redundancy and un-needed info and go straight to (transitions) the point
Aaaawwweeesssooommmeee!!! analysis and observation... & THANK U so much for sharing this ...
These were very helpful thank you so much!😊
I follow your tips but struggling with views so obviously doing something wrong, what do other people think
MotorSport & Dream Cars great videos don't know why people are not subscribing
MotorSport & Dream Cars I agree great looking videos, do you do this as a job
MotorSport & Dream Cars great
motorsport -- ur videos are really good! keep doing what ur doing!
MotorSport & Dream Cars I think your channel looks very professional. When did you start uploading your videos? I have a similar number of subscribers to you and I began uploading regularly at the end of August. I think I just need more patience, as my channel is growing steadily.
Your videos have really helped me get started on YT! I appreciate the help!
Thaks for the tip!
It's better than going in the comment section of random videos with, "Watch my stuff!"
How can you record your tv when u play xbox?
Clean shave!!! - Awesome tips as per usual! Love when you two do videos together!!!
Thanks for the tips guys! Very valuable
Hello, do you have an advice for songwriters on RUclips?
it's help me alot. thanks guys!
Can you make a video on how you guys schedule your time so you can do all the things you suggest? How do you have the time to do everything?
I'd imagine getting to do content creation full-time is a massive first step and then from there, having a small team, like Tim does, lets you scale your time. A lot of these things are like spinning plates, you improve in one aspect and then another... and then you realize that that first plate's slowed down (i.e. you've gotten better and that thing you used to do isn't good enough anymore), and you have to go back to it... and so on and so on. -Ryan
I am far from having a team. I am doing everything myself. It would be great if I could afford a team. That is a great goal!
I'm a little late to the party, but Tim should totally keep the goatee.
Very helpful tips, especially distribution. Now I am going to go watch the collab video with Tim :) Oh, and I think Tim looks better without the goatee :)
Hey working hard on RUclips since one year and my channel doesn't grow at all what to do
Love seeing you guys together! And Tim's a cutie either way ;)
This video is GOLD! Thank you!
I like the way Tim looks in this video.
This was good, it's nice to see you guys catch up.
I love this video! informative AND funny! Thank you guys! ♥
Hi Darrell I have a question for you is there a way for a subscriber to see how long he had been subscribed to a channel on RUclips ?
Great advice gents!
always good advice from the D and the T thx boys
Hey Derral. If you have older videos posted, is it worth the time to go back and change up the thumbnails and titles, or should we just apply these tips moving forward with new videos?
If you have time, I would only do it on older non-performing videos!
Thanks for the tips! I'm struggling w/ effective titles. I have a retro cooking channel and wondering what else to put in the title other than the name of the recipe.
Always very informative!
Keep it up guys 😁
Tim's goatee needs to return - Great tips there by the way.
I was looking at your tubebuddy checklist, and I saw that you send an email out to subscribers when you upload. How do you do this? "Send out email to your list," Is this just for websites?
I have several ways I do that... I use infusionsoft and constant contact. I do not send a blanket email out to everyone... I have my email list segmented so that I have higher open rates!
hello Derral can you please make a video on how much data RUclips store in san Bruno California and does RUclips monitor the videos thank you
Derral FOCUS!
hahaahah
Very nice tips. I'll try to utilize these to make my channel better.
Great....
great tips, have recently started my RUclips channel, would like to know more about the distribution strategy that you were talking about
I will try this approach. thanks!
Thank you for this! Super cool video! A+++
all your videos are helpful. Thank you so much
great tips as always!! thank you!!
Thanks for that new video, but all in all the stuffis being told in older videos before. But Thumbs up for doing still nice work :)
Good advice guys. I too have a video series on this topic as well.
Hello Mr Derral Eves thank you so much for uploading this video I have one question sir can you please tell me where you tube stores all the data and videos because the whole world is watching you tube can you tell me where you tube stores all the data thank you and god bless you
Thank you! I am a new RUclipsr, and I am trying to learn from your tips! Hopefully I can reach out to my audience soon!
Two great experts on the same screen, awesome!
It is alway fun to work with Tim! :)
My mom asked, "do I have to pay to subscribe"?
😆I love it!
That's classic!
I love your intro. Where can I find one to make one for my channel? any suggestions?
Whatever Tim wants is fine 👍🏻
Great job as always guys!
Thanks!
