The funniest description of poop I ever heard from a patient, "It's somewhat formed but soft, cant juggle with it".
😅
OKAY BUT LMAO???? 😂😂😂
Concerningly specific.
😂 oh stop it! I am laughing so hard I am getting stomach cramps literally.
@@tyrant-den884 But exactly how a juggler would describe it.
Everyone's talking about their grossest stories, I'm just laughing at the patient using the phrase " productive cough" correctly.
When my gastroenterologist was blaming my pain from a perforated bowel on a gyn issue he had the biggest look of disgust on his face when he said I needed a pelvic. He literally shuddered and told me that he doesn’t do those. The guy sticks cameras up butts for a living but that grosses him out
I hope he isn't married or has children. Yikes
Every doctor and healthcare professional has something … it’s a normal human emotion - he shouldn’t have shown it so obviously but I guarantee this - and it’s the reason why doctors choose one speciality and not the other… it’s the reason why some would never want to deal with children but love their kids … you can enjoy your wife’s Vj and not want to deal with anyone else’s in a medical context … doesn’t make them demons
Probably a gay
@@swordchild0013 yes but perhaps he can act like a professional or even just an adult and not look like he is going to throw up. Although I would settle for him just doing his job. Pretty embarrassing that a freaking gastroenterologist wasn’t smart enough to think that the diverticulitis he knew I had might have caused a perforation
Considering how close those two systems are and how they can affect each other him being weird about it isn’t good. Many times women are misdiagnosed with female issues when we have things like colon cancer. Heck my gyn made a mistake and said my dermoid cyst on my ovary was just that I was constipated but dermoid cysts can cause constipation. I still don’t know how they missed a grapefruit size cyst and I clearly ended up going to someone else.
Yeah I’m a CNA so I deal with bowel movements and urine all day, I saw a loogie in a patient’s water cup the other day and almost puked
Ewwwwww yuxk
As someone who's seen a lot of various bodily fluids, nothing makes me have to hold back vomiting on the spot like a cup full of mucus from someone with a productive cough.
Retired nurse here and I had no problems with any bodily secretions but I had a patient once with maggots and I almost lost my cookies😂
I had one with insects coming from her vagina and that shook me somewhat. My colleague tried to catch some in a specimen jar and they were all over the place. Thankfully that only happened once😢
@@buffys3477 botfly larva extraction. Can take several days.
@@buffys3477yikes!!! 😮
How does that even happen? Why would therebe BUGS up there? Ick.@@buffys3477
I’m in vet med and I’ve had 3 maggot cases (thus far). They’re awful. No matter how old I am or if he’s in the area, my dad jokes about having rice for dinner. I despise maggots.
You can’t convince me Doc Schmidt is acting in both roles. Different people for sure!! The wig and acting go a long way👏🏾👏🏾
You are too kind!
When I worked as a nurse I had a coworker who couldn’t handle respiratory secretions. My kryptonite was lower GI bleeds (pooping bright red blood). We were more than happy to trade patient assignments when necessary.
Lower GIB smells awful!
@@HelenCamile63 Lactulose doesn't help...
My kids used to call it poop soup. “Moooooom I just had poop soup!”
Also I’ve been a nurse for 30 years and been up to my elbows in poop, had the worst smelliest weirdest wounds, but if you hawk a lugie near me I’m gonna hurl
Yes, me too! Trachs are really hard for me bcs of that. Definitely couldn't be a respiratory therapist 🤮
This made me laugh. I can handle anything that comes out of a body including helping someone get cleaned up with C diff, but "lung gunk" gets me every time.
Honest truth I've had that exact conversation with my GI but stopped after the soft serve lol
😂😂😂 comments are cracking me up. We had a few "you can't gross me out" sessions when my kids were still at home. My youngest was trying hard to match up to all the older people around her. She said "eyebrows, chicken and hair". 😂😂😂🤢 it's a family get together memory. Y'all have a great day!🎉
Doctor, nurse, ward clerk, doesn't matter. We can deal with lots of stuff but we all have that one bodily substance that we can't handle. It's often phlegm, unless you work in respiratory. 😂
my kids are almost as old as you are - i know you had a baby a little while back, so you'd be inured to poop anyway. but while a person can get used to almost anything, most of us still have one thing that grosses us out more than others. mine is vomit. i would rather change 100 poopy diapers than go near vomit. fortunately, my ex took that deal!
Hey, a fellow poop ok, vomit nay person!
For me it's mostly that odd urge of... How'd you call it. Sympathy puking? I see/smell it, and my body decides 'better join in!'
Totally agree!
Same here. I have no issues with blood, mucus, feces or anything like that. But when it comes to vomit, I can't deal with it. I can't even think about it without feeling anxious and nauseous.
No, this makes sense, that cough is probably contagious
How should I put this...... 😅 so is poop and most other bodily fluids when ppl are sick, soo.....
@@KxNOxUTA Lots of ways to transmit. You won't catch AIDS or ebola just sitting in a room with someone
The thing that will make me gag the fastest is phlegm and spit. That scene in The 13th Warrior where they’re all swapping spit is the grossest thing I’ve ever seen in my life and just thinking about it makes me gag.
For me it's eyes stuff
@@abd-animation-22 Eyes are cool, but anything with needles in the eyes makes me shiver. But phlegm and spit, urgh. To give you an idea how silly this is, I love pimple popping, gross skin conditions, don’t mind STD stuff, and I used to frequent StileProject and efukt back in the day. Phlegm is what gets me.
lol when my mom worked at a preschool, all the different teachers had different things they could handle. One was totally fine with poop, but couldn't handle vomit. Another was fine with vomit but couldn't handle saliva or snot. At least it worked out, there was a teacher to summon for all different excretions.
I can deal with a LOT but I also have an absolutely extreme gag reflex, and one of my partners is emetophobic, so even though I'm okay cleaning up the cat mess and gagging so hard I get petechiae, said partner does NOT want me to do so where he can hear. XD XD
I was a para with special needs kids for several years, and I could handle blood and change the gnarliest diapers, but mucous or vomit made me gag.
Stool never grossed me out at much as sputum 🤮
My RN limit is vomiting ... I would join anyone. I would run to the ER Doc and beg for medicine for anyone vomiting ! I was your best friend in the ER. Otherwise I would join them ... Nothing else does that to me.
I have a small ranch & I can eat a sandwich while castrating or dealing with abscesses, but if anyone barfs I completely lose it 😂
Yep been a RN for a looooong time. Can handle anything, except watching someone swallow their phelgm junk they cough up, or suctioning patients. I'll disimpact bowels, deal with infections, wounds, but phlegm, snot, is my kryptonite!
How is this "poop description" so hilarious??? Love it. Can I steal it? (For a friend not me of course)
I’m very proud of it. Definitely feel free 😅
Poop is fine, sputum is gross! Lol
😂 I was diagnosed with seceee Crohn’s disease as a teenager so I have learned to discuss my 💩 without any hesitation. I noticed however that most people are not 😂. Thank God for my doctors!!!
Both my children have had lots of bowel issues. We've full on celebrated "poop days" when they've struggled with constipation and I've analyzed almost all of their poopy diapers. I'd get excited when poops looked normal and I'd just want to shout about it from the rooftops--but then I'd be quickly shut down by family and friends who tell me I'm being disgusting. I often forget these aren't normal things to talk about. It kind of makes me a bit sad since it's been such a big focus of our lives the last few years. 😅
RN here and former GI nurse... I can relate to this lol. Poop is nothing. Mucus makes me gag.
So many nurses I’ve known could discuss lunch while performing an enema or doing CPR ~ but were totally grossed out by mucus. 😂😂😂
MLS here, the worst specimens to get in the lab are not blood, urine or even diarrhea... it's sputum, especially first thing in the morning.
As an mls I’ll say sputum is the tipping point for most people mine is parasites
I’m glad I’m not the only one who gags at mucus. 😂😂
This is so true!
I'm a retired respiratory therapist and I have literally had coworkers right in the middle of cleaning up a BM or changing the dressing on a horrendous wound ask me how I can deal with sputum so many times. It is legitimately difficult to gross out an RT.
Had a pediatric GI doc tell me that he chose GI because he didn’t have a good sense of smell. 😂
I wish there were really doctors like this
I'm not one to hold back tmi info and the dr gets grossed out or embarrassed and it completely changes the atmosphere and makes me uncomfortable around them
I’ve been a nurse for 30 years (presently GI 3 years, and I’m certified in the specialty 😁) and was a CNA for several years before that, so I’ve seen lots of stuff, some of it pretty scary. I could never work in an OR doing eyes, although I can give drops. I can usually tolerate sputum if I don’t look at it for very long 🤣
I was an RN on a Liver floor. Poop, blood, vomit: no problem. Flem...Yuck!
I’m a PSW here in Canada (like a CNA)
There isn’t much that grosses me out BUT phlegm makes me gag every single time!!!
So I had a patient bring me a coffee can with an inch of tarry black stool in it. Words are for amateurs. Isn't that fairly normal by GI standards?
Scariest poops ive had: straight clear water. Terrigying and wildly interesting
I'm a nurse. Unbothered by poop, mucus, vomit, whatever. The only human fluid I can't handle is the male liquid.
This came up on my suggested for you & it happened to be when I was on the 🚽 💩 😂😂😂
I have saved this. If I get time, I will show one of my gastroenterologists. 😂
yep same with us small animal vets-- we don't bat an eye at ANYthing the pet poops/pees/vomits/drools out. But a human's phlegmy coughs gag me out!
I told my GI doctor not to pull the string when I went in for a colonoscopy. 😂 He laughed
The most disgusting thing I've ever seen was a man flossing in public and sucking the plaque off. I'm nauseous after writing that.
Metaphors are the best.
😂
As a dental assistant, I jave seen some gross stuff (nothing nearly as bad as medical) but a patient wanting to suction their phlegm.... 🤢🤢🤢
I just get so grossed out!!!
Good one!!!!!
Y'all had it easy. During internship, we had to rotate in the four major departments (Internal Med, Gynae, Surgery and Paediatrics), so we've seen the worst of the worst. I am suitably numbed! 😁
We all have our strengths and weaknesses 😂
Yeah sorry but anything embarrassing or gross stays with me. I will quite literally die on that hill if I have to rather than go to the doctor for anything embarrassing
Someone didn’t properly prep for their colonoscopy…shouldn’t be any poop left in there!
Poop, vomit, blood, no problem. Sputum - I’m out. 🤢
are you wander?
do you do any voice work?
Sorry- no GI doc gets grossed out by phlegm- after finishing an esophagogastroduodenoscopy it’s phlegm-city for hours! As a retired oncology/OR/Recovery room nurse RN I’ve seen a lot of gross stuff. But my personal gross-out was having to remove contact lenses from unconscious patients. I fainted in the OR one time during an eye surgery😂.
😅😂 yep same
Sir do you earn 1 million dollars a year as a gi doctor? Plz reply. Thanks a lot.
😂😂😂😂😂😂
Imagine listening to Nancy Pelosi’s story of the shits
EWWWWWWW ,it sounds like cdif to me ,lol I’m a retired nurse,I get whst this guy is talking about ,people can’t imagine what whst medical professionals see and hear 😝
So the diarrhea none of that stuff grows through awhen she actually got sick gross out
he means phlegm
nah not exactly, all the bowel movement stuff doesn't gross him out but when it came to the mouth with phlegm and potential vomiting that did gross him out
